By the way, this church is located at 65th and Central Park West - it's a beautiful walk from any direction. You will find me there on Sundays at 11:00, pulpit side middle, and I am happy to have coffee with anyone who wishes to chat afterward. Basically, I will hang around anywhere with coffee and baked goods - and Lutherans are really good at servin' up carbs. ;)

We also loved the Marian Shrine and the St. Padre Pio Shrine with 3 first class relics. The Mass was pretty traditional and the vocalist had a beautiful voice while leading the hymns and psalm. We were also a bit disappointed in the Priest though. He processed in with a mask on but took it off when he was up at the altar and kept it off when he came back down to deliver his politically motivated sermon up close, walking back and forth in the aisle. He put it back on during Communion and actually refused to place it on our tongues and would only put it in our hands. So unreverent. If we were local, we'd probably go to one of the other more reverent clergy in one of the nearby Catholic Churches. A shame really, because otherwise we could be very happy here.

The alter has been brought down to the center of the beautiful historic building. The parishioners sit in a semi circle around the alter. The priests and chorus are behind. I was on the side today but felt included. The mass is modern and prayers for everything and everyone. If you want something/someone included during mass you just fill out a paper and let them know. The mass is simple. The responses are sung. I enjoy the chorus. My friend is in the chorus. In fact my family has attended this church in the past. I've got a lot of musicians in my family that made their living playing orchestra in the shows. But that's another story! The church design and decor are so beautiful. There are a lot of angels painted on the the walls. They do not mind picture taking. I'll go back for service and take pictures of the Angels I'm sure!! I see people of every age, elderly, middle age, people in work uniforms, small children, college age, teens and expectant mothers. You name it everyone is covered. They have plenty of room for strollers to be wheeled in the back. Parents walk and rock to quiet babies during service. I find their dedication to attend mass inspiring. Dress is not important. I saw one girl in zebra print work out pants. What I'm trying to say is, this is not an elitist church like some I attend. It's not a wealthy Parrish I'm sure. They pass the baskets two times for donations. I highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood!! Visitors are welcome.

It is dubbed as the "Actor's Chapel" for its endorsement of the actors in the nearby broadway theaters and of the performing arts in general. With exception to the European pastor, I have always been impressed with the pastors here as they have been entertaining, witty, and very lively during their sermons. The place may look small from the outside but easily fits a solid crowd of perhaps 200-300. Their choir is decent, but don't appear all that frequently. Whats certain for sure is they definitely have money as their song pamplets are printed out the DAY of, in color, with legible fonts, and a decent layout. I hope they recycle because that stuff is by no means cheap. Beats using a cheap ol psalms book I suppose.

On the way to the restaurant, we came across this beautiful little church. Sadly due to churches needing to be closed, we couldn't go in. I remember years ago, churches were open 24/7. It's also known as "The little church around the corner". According to the plaque, the church was built between 1849 and 1861. In 1989, the church became a landmark in the NY Preservation Foundation. This is another gorgeous church, this time on the Upper East Side close to a place where I was stopping for bubble tea. These buildings really add a lot of character to all the northeastern cities and especially New York, and the fact that you don't see as many of them in places like Washington DC and Atlanta is to the detriment of those cities because it makes them not as beautiful as these church-riddled older Northeastern cities.

Plus, he always looks how much money we put in for the mass collection and even times, he upsets people when he is pushy and pressures people to do his way of something when operating the mass. The music is disappointing because the woman who sings there, doesn't put her heart into the songs. She was the only one that sings with the pianist. A lot of people I knew who were in that community and myself had to turn away from this church ever since Ato operates the church weirdly. Even there is one time, I came to mass and there's only 4 people left. Where there's no music, no positivity and all. Ato said something offensive that triggers me when he preaches and the prayers is very different compare to the original prayers that we normally pray. I felt so lost and everything wasn't aligned.
