They're not the lowest price, nor are they the highest. They had many useful things, and some wonderfully fanciful items. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. It's.a lovely moderately sized store tucked into one of the strip mall buildings, near the State Store and the Indoor Pool school. Yes, there's an indoor pool in one of the stores. It's a swim school or something. But I digress... Everything was laid out very nicely, they have many things to buy, but not so much that you're overwhelmed. We learned that there are two kinds of stock: CONSIGNMENT items have a larger yellow tag. DONATED items have a small bright orange/red tag. They tend to keep the consigned items more towards the front of the store, also. So if you see an item and you think, wow, that's kinda high...check the tag. Chances are it's a consigned item. We browsed about and found some lovely things - FDC bought a gorgeous Italian Pottery vase and I got some very cool drinking glasses that just happen to match some shot glasses that I gave Lion a couple years ago. Score! On subsequent trips I have found an awesome set of mid-century bamboo plates for picnics (LOVE THESE!) and other fun stuff too. The staff are completely lovely people, the store is clean, well lit and well organized. Proceeds benefit survivors of domestic violence - they have a shelter for victims and also fund programs. Parking is super easy (pro tip - avoid the crowds, small parking lot behind the Barnes & Noble easy in/easy out!). Heck, yeah, I'll be back. It's a great little store supporting a very needed service in our area.

First off, their website desperately needs to be updated to provide accurate information--they only consign by appointment and you need to call them for the appointment. This information is not on the website, nor are details such as how many items they will accept for inspection, how the items need to be presented and specific consignment guidelines (such as item conditions, labels accepted, etc). This is misleading, and their current policy has been in place for quite awhile now (based on a visit to the store over a year ago). Glad I called to verify, as I thought the "walk-in" policy was new. I gathered my items, making sure everything was clean and on hangers, and went to the shop on my appointed day. While they inspected my items, I was invited to browse the store. I noted the pricing on several items, and overall, I felt that many of the items were overpriced for what is basically an upscale thrift shop. The upside is that I only waited a relatively short time to see what they would accept. Out of 23 items, they accepted 6. And two of these items were mid-level designer handbags in very good condition. I was offered what I felt was an insultingly low amount of money for the items, or store credit. They offered some rationale, some of which was fair, but much, from my view (such as the condition of the bags) was not. Bottom line, they want items in new or pristine condition. However, while browsing, I saw things that clearly were not in that state. In the end, I know I could have walked out without leaving the items, but I opted to accept the offer, not because I felt it was fair, but mainly due to personal logistics (downsizing). Given the pricing I saw on what was for sale, I kind of felt ripped off and taken advantage of. I'm not new to consigning, but I thought I'd try someplace different this time around. From my experience, there are other shops in the area that are easier to deal with (in as much as communicating their consignment policies) and offer a better return to sellers on their items. Note to the management: Please consider those who patronize and consign to your shop and update your website (it's really not that hard to do) OR honor the walk-in policy that is currently posted.

She also said that she wouldn't accept summer clothes, just fall/winter. I went home and went through my closets. I retired recently from a new home sales position and have dresses, skirts, and pants that I knew I would no longer wear. I just went back and waited while the owner helped another person. While waiting, I saw and bought a pendant. The owner then came out, said she had gone through all of my clothes and would only accept a couple of items. She told me that my clothes were "not what her clientele were looking for". I paid more for the pendant than I got for the few items she accepted.

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift certainly fits the bill. The first floor of the store is all household goods and furniture. We marveled at the very low cost of the china cabinets, and my daughter lamented that the store isn't located in Chicago where she is trying to furnish an apartment. The second floor is all clothing. Even though they have labels for children and men's clothing, about 80% is for women. The clothing is quite well-organized by size and type, so it's easy to home in on specific styles. The clothes are clean - the shirts that I purchased seemed to have been professionally laundered and pressed. There were some high-end designer labels in the mix, but they weren't priced any differently from other clothes in the same category. I came away with two dress shirts and two ties for $11; in all we spent just $23 for a fair number of very nice items. Staff here isn't terribly friendly but not rude either. All in all this is an excellent store with lots of choices and outstanding prices.

She was really so kind and let me know I could leave it there and go shop. They were running 50% off of colored tags the day I went. I didn't find any in the tag colors, but I did find 2 pairs of flats for $19, which isn't bad at all. They also had a fill a bag sale outside with 50 cent items. The clothing upstairs was abundant and ranged in sizes. I also saw some Anthropologie brands, some designer, and some higher end clothing for fairly decent prices. Anthro clothing for $10 is pretty good. Hopefully the next time I won't be all sweaty and carrying a baby and linger longer. There is a little lot in the front, but I found parking behind the business was easy enough and cheap (50 cents covered it).
