I hate to be the voice of opposition regarding Saint Marc, but the experience was not what others on Yelp and Kudzu led me to believe. I'll be getting married in March, and purchased a suit online after trying on a different color at the same retailer. The suit was great, but the pants were a bit baggy through the seat, thigh, and down to the ankle. After reading glowing reviews about his shop, and it being relatively close to Georgia Tech where I'm a grad student, I thought I would trust him with my pants. The studio is nice, and Saint Marc is a nice guy. No problems there. I brought in a second pair of pants that I already owned and liked the way they fit for him to use as a template for how I wanted him to alter the new pair. Without having me try the first pair on, he simply measure the ankle and the knee of both pairs, and then said it would be $50. I confirmed that he would also slim from the waist down to the knee, then to the ankle, and he assured me that was the only way it could be done, but that my desired measurements were too slim, and that he suggested a little bigger. I told him I didn't want bigger, and so he split the difference (albeit a quarter inch). He told me they would be ready in 2 weeks, cash only. First off, 2 weeks isn't that fast, and cash only? I don't carry cash frequently, so that was an extra trip to the ATM for me. But they would small prices to pay if the pants looked great.... 2 weeks came around, and I was SO excited to see my pants. I went to his shop, tried them on, and they looked basically as if he had hemmed them, nothing more. They were still baggy, they weren't slimmed through the seat and thigh, and they didn't fit. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the job, and he proceeded to tell me that what I wanted done wasn't possible. Sure...you make clothes for a living from scratch, I think it's possible. Then he told me $50 was needed, and sent me on my way. I was not pleased. Rather than continue to argue with him over what could and couldn't be done to a pair of pants, I called Hong Kong Tailors. Neil was friendly and assured me he could do what I wanted, all of it, for $40, without me even mentioning what had happened at Saint Marc's. Overall, very displeased with the service at Saint Marc's, although the craftsmanship of what he did do was great. If you're cool with classic style and want to wear what he wears (50-some year old man), then he will do a great job. If you want something slim, modern, or just want him to listen to you and do what YOU want, I would suggest going somewhere else. By the way, the pants turned out GREAT from Hong Kong Tailors, Neil is friendly and did just what I wanted, and was cheaper. I will be taking my clothes to him from now on, even though it is quite a bit further. TLDR: Saint Marc does quality work, but won't listen to what you ask for. Don't go here if you desire a more modern cut or alteration. PS, I've begun to wonder if Saint Marc falsifies reviews. After doing searches on popular style forums, such as askandyaboutclothes.com and styleforum.net, NO ONE mentions Saint Marc in threads about "Quality Atlanta Tailors." People do, however, mention Mario Bosco, Neil at Hong Kong Tailors, and a few others at Sid Mashburn. If Saint Marc had really been in the business for as long as he said he is and is as good as reviews say, then why has no one heard of him? read more

I cannot possibly say enough about this man's skills. I recently went to him because I needed a suit for my wedding. I waited FAR too long to have it done. I was referred to Saint Marc with only 6 weeks left and he was able to pull off a miracle. Please understand I am VERY hard to fit. I'm 5'8, 275lbs and I have been a weightlifter for over 35 years. I would need something like a 56 Short off the rack and if there was such a thing it would be cut for a man with a 50 inch waist. Another well known suit maker in Atlanta said they needed 8-10 weeks to make a suit for me. I didn't have that much time. This man made a suit that fit me like a glove and had it complete the day before my wedding. I haven't had a suit fit me like this since I was 18 years old, and I turned 51 last month. If he can fit me he can fit ANYONE. Do yourself a favor. Give this man and his lovely wife a try. You will not regret it. Just give him more time than I did. I put a lot of stress on him. I have been using the tailors at Brooks Brothers in Lenox for my suits. They do a fine job, but they are very slow (turnaround time is usually 2-3 weeks). As a result, I decided to look for someone else to alter a suit that could get it done relatively soon. Based on the rave reviews here, I decided to give Marc a shot. I had lost some weight since purchasing this suit (around 30 pounds), and Marc showed me everything that he needed to do to make it fit properly again: shorten the collar, modify the seam in the back of coat, take in the waist on the pants, etc. He asked when I needed it and specifically asked if I needed it soon for a special event. I said "No," that the end of the week (it was Monday) or early next week was fine. We decided on the following Monday. That Monday morning, Marc called and told me my suit would be ready after 5:00. That evening I picked it up and tried it on, and it looked perfect on me. Had I not known any better, I would never had known that the suit used to be 2-3 sizes larger as I could find no visible signs that it had been altered, which is exactly what you want. He did a great job, and considering all the work he did on it, I thought the price he charged was very reasonable. As a result, I will be taking all of my alterations to him from now on. A few things to know for first-timers. Marc does not have a traditional store front - instead, he is on the fourth floor of an office building with just a nameplate next to the door to his office suite, but don't let that scare you away. The door will be closed, but just knock and go on in. Also, the hours posted on Yelp at the time of this review/my visit are wrong. I asked Marc what his hours are, and he told me 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday; and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Fridays. read more

Wow an actual tailor, this is NOT a typical alterations place as part of a dry cleaners. This guy really knows his stuff. I brought Joseph aboud and Hugo boss (outlet) suits both around $500 suits, he made them look like $1000 suits Prices are very reasonable and he may be literally the faster in Atlanta. One suit had a bunch of atypical alterations (I'm shaped weird) and he said he could have it done Friday and it was Wednesday. I believe he's from the islands but he English is very good so you will feel comfortable that your needs have been communicated. On that topic I advise you to be sure of what you want because even though he is an expert, everyone has different tastes. So if you want a suit mor modern/skinny/geeky, you gotta open your mouth and be clear because by default he will prob try to go with very classic lines. Overall a great experience and will be going nowhere else. Saint f Marc has only a few reviews here but TONS on Kudzu, so help him out yelpers. read more

Saint Marc is a pleasure to do business with. He is a master of his craft, and it shows in his ability to not only make a suit contour perfectly to your body, but also in the way he offers other sartorial tips and solutions in casual conversation. Saint Marc's customer service and communication skills are also top notch. In instances that I could not come to his studio, he has come to me in different parts of the city to accomodate my schedule, all while being very responsive via text or phone. After my unfortunate experience with The Custom Suit Shop (review to come soon), I was left without a suit. I also had many upcoming interviews and very little money to spend on a suit. However, I am petite, small-waisted, and busty (read: I am impossible to fit off the rack). Thankfully, I was able to thrift a suit that was decent. However, when I started looking at prices for alterations, I was beside myself. I'm a college student so (1) I don't have much money and (2) I know nothing about suits. Considering my recent debacle as well as issues with past alterations other places, I was afraid that I would be led astray and likely overcharged. I'm very thankful I chose Saint F Marc. When I went in with my suit, I knew I would need at least the sleeves and pants hemmed as well as some stylistic changes to the sleeves and waist. I was waited on by both Marc and his female assistant: both of them were very professional and helpful, especially for someone who knows nothing about suits. Now here's when I realized what a top notch place this was: my thrifted suit was a single button suit. I wanted something a little more traditional and thought you could just slap on another button and button hole and be done. Marc informed me that this would not work with the lay of the suit. Now, had I gone anywhere else, I'm sure the alterationist would have been glad to charge me for a button and button hole AND ruin the lay of the suit. Not Sait Marc. Also, a side note for those in the MIdtown area: Saint F Marc is likely the cheapest place for alterations. I did a lot of research before settling on a place. Other places (and I'm talking about dry cleaner alterations) would have charged me twice what Marc charged me. I doubt the quality of the alterations would have been on par as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone who needs alterations. The staff is professional, helpful, and, most importantly, honest. Plus, you really can't beat the prices. read more

Had two suits tailored by Marc. They we done great, and looked fantastic. He sticks to his schedule and gets your stuff done by the date that he gives you. I've used other tailors, by Marc gets my business now. You can tell he enjoys his work, as he's always happy to see customers and do fittings. The best place to take anything to anyone within an hour of the city. Took in a suit and blazer and two trousers. He was going on vacation two days later and STILL completed everything within 12 hrs. If you want your suit altered, go to other professional. I came to him to alter my Armani suit and pants. He was never in the office when I stopped by to pick up my suit and had to redo alteration of jacket. Bad experience in working with the pants - not only he damaged fabric on pants and refused to acknowledge it, he also charged me for the service he never performed. I'm not sure if he can tailor a suit altogether if he cannot even shorten pants correctly. read more

I've been using Saint Marc for years now and just have gotten around to writing a review. This guy is the man in Atlanta, hands down. I even have a close friend who's family has owned a very popular tailoring business in Atlanta and still prefer Saint Marc. From custom to off the rack alterations, he will make you look great. You do need to speak up when discussing your wants and preferences, as you should with anyone you commission work to, this isn't exclusive to Saint Marc or any other tailor.
