This is pretty much a popular bakery chain. I checked out this location by my house and saw they had a lobster roll for $16. This was the best lobster roll I've ever had. I've avoided most because of how little lobster there was or how creamy it was. As someone who hates mayonnaise, this roll was perfect. The bun was loaded with fresh lobster and the seasonings complimented the meat and didn't overpower. Best 16 dollars I've spent.

This is a new Chinese bakery inside hillcrest mall. It is big and well decorated, offering cakes, cookies and breads, drinks etc. It is almost sold out all breads around 6pm, so come early if you want to get them. Price wise is towards expensive end compared to other hongkong bakeries.

I came to Hillcrest mall for shopping and passed by this bakery store. Since I've been looking for cheaper and reliable options for birthday cakes and everyday pastries for a while, I just bought a few types of bread and cake slices to try out. This place is a chain bakery shop which offers no tax discount if you buy more than 6 items, similarly with most other Chinese bakeries. I bought two types of cakes and a few breads to try. Unlike many other Chinese bakeries who either offer very little stuffing inside the bread or awfully tasted dough, Saint Germain provides decent quality of bakeries instead. The price is around $5 per cake slice, and $2-$2.5 on average per piece of bread. The flavour and portion of the stuffing were both satisfying, with good dough. My favourite includes the double baked almond croissant (good scent highlighted by the almond crust, and very flavourful stuffing) and the rose raspberry cheese bread (interesting flavour of the stuffing) I will definitely come back here for birthday cake shopping here in future.

Saint Germain has opened up in Hillcrest Mall, and this is the third location of this chain in Ontario. Its a welcome addition to this mall that is looking to revive itself especially with the heavy influx of new condos and homes in the area of Yonge and 16th. This is located in the mall right across of Sporting Life, the closest entrance would be entrance 2 right beside Starbucks. Upon entering, the bakery cant be missed and is very large and spacious. They have a large variety of Asian buns, with some minor twists to the classics. Each bun is individually wrapped, and placed together on a tray behind a sliding door. If you purchase 6 buns there is no tax. Though I must admit this place is a touch on the pricier side, given that its in a mall and the decor and what your getting its trying to be a bit more upscale on the Chinese buns. The bakery area is open for viewing, and they also have a very large variety of cakes and pastries by the slice or a whole cake available for order at the front. This is a welcome addition to Hillcrest mall and I wouldnt hesitate to come back for a quick bite while in the mall.

Were you aware that Saint Germain sells drinks in addition to their long line of pastries and baked goods?! I had no idea until recently, which is when I picked up this beverage: ORANGE JUICE AND JASMINE GREEN TEA. This was a very tasty and refreshing combination! The overall drink was slightly sweeter than I had expected but was nothing too sugar-crazy. I absolutely love the use of fresh fruits (lemon and orange) to further infuse flavors and for the aesthetic appeal as well (4.5 out of 5.0). For $4, I'd get this again. Wonderful hidden gem! Just tried this place today, bought a whole big cake for $45 that's full of fruit and white chocolate, along with a hot dog croissant and a fresh pink lady drink, They were all AMAZING! Can't wait to go back to this place and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area and looking for some nice sweets and baked goods.

I sent my husband to pick up a cake and he showed the email online confirmation to a lady. She was already annoyed with an online order and then informed my husband its the wrong day. He asked if there was cake he could give us now since we needed it. The lady began slamming her papers and going off in Chinese to her colleague. I made the mistake of putting Monday instead of Sunday. Out of habit from other online ordering systems, I assumed Sunday was furthest left, the online interface has Monday as the first day of the week. This is my error for not checking, I take blame for this. But ultimately, the poor service, paper slamming and throwing things down is really uncalled for. Honestly, I get we made a mistake, you could have either sent my husband away or just sold us another cake. There is NO need to slam papers and begin badmouthing him in Chinese. It was absolutely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I called spoke to manager M about my unhappiness of the experience and obviously, she gave an apology on her staff's behalf. I honestly wanted her to be aware of the inappropriate service. She called back and explained the staff was frustrated with the online system and not my husband. Manager M was nice enough to even offer a free cake, but I declined the offer. I simply told her, I hope her staff realize people don't necessarily care about the $20 cake, it's about being treated properly. Hopefully, she does review it with her staff and future customers do not need to experience what I did. For what it's worth, your location is inside Hillcrest mall and not at some sleazy Asian plaza. I expect a bit better customer service especially if the bakery items are a little more expensive. I don't appreciate paying for horrible service when there other bakeries that cost less but more importantly, the staff is more pleasant to deal with. The reviews online have noted the poor customer service from Saint Germain and today, I surely got a glimpse of it.

Been buying their buns since they opened up at Markville, I'm glad they opened in Richmond Hill. I finally got a chance to try their matcha bun and it is heavenly. I love the matcha flavoured crust and it has mochi and red bean inside. I also like their bbq buns and egg tarts.

Saint Germain Bakery recently opened a new location inside Hillcrest Mall beside H&M. Currently they are having a buy 2 get 1 free promotion (for the same product) at all of their stores. Love their pineapple buns and their wide variety of cakes and cake slices. I tried the fresh mango slice and the matcha red bean slice and they were both so delicious! The mango is so sweet, but overall the cake is not too sweet. My all time favourite cake from here is their Mocha cake. Love the mix of chocolate and coffee flavour that balances really well together and it has a great cake to cream ratio. Their cakes are not too sweet either, which is perfect. I tried their almond walnut cookies as well which were so fresh and crunchy. Hands down one of my favourite bakeries in town! The service at this location is also amazing and the staff are very friendly.

Worst service ever. The cashiers are extremely rude and unwilling to help. We will not buy anything from this location ever.

I cannot believe it's taken me this long to visit this amazing local bakery! I have heard rave…read morereviews of their sourdough & breads, and I can see why it has become such a staple of the locals in this area. Crust is located on the bottom floor of a condo building - a treat for the residents who get pass by for morning coffee & pastries I hope! Who doesn't like the smell of fresh baked bread & pastries? While there is very limited high top seating inside the bakery itself, there are plenty of tables inside the condo lobby just outside the bakery entrance. Service wasn't standout, but that's not a deal breaker in this case. I definitely recommend stopping by to pick up their baked goods. You could probably skip on the coffee - it was good, but not the star in my opinion. I treated myself to a blueberry custard tart & flaky pain au chocolat - both were incredibly delicious and I can't wait to come back to try more! Note that there is parking at the back of the building if you turn onto Yongehurst Rd.

I highly recommend the breads if you enjoy fresh baked loaves with a crusty crust as our family does. We will be back! Getting to the store. There is no parking at the front entrance to the store. I did not do my research prior to find out about available parking at the back of the condo. We pulled up into the side lane while i jumped out to pick up the breads. Next time i will check out the parking so we can make our purchase more leisurely.

Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)
