It was less than hers after her passing that we recvd a call to let us know that they would not recognize us to cremate and bury her. That although we were her care providers, signed orders with Dr at the hospital for ens of life etc.. they would not allow us to cremate and bury her as thr paperwork we had that the hospital honored wasn't what they wanted to see and therefore would not honor that we were her guardians. Were told they would have someone form the County call us. They then kept her onsite someowhere and we have been made to call County Guardianship Services over the oast week to get her remains back. We finally after a week of waiting for Tulocay to have someone call us found out how to reach staff by ourselves. The County now tell us we have to wait over 30days before they can let us know if we have any rights to put her to rest as they are going to search for next of kin and ask others if they want possession of her or to take over her burial. Then we were told as she was a Sonoma County resident that as they were Napa County we should see about moving her body here for the 30 days. It is beyond ridiculous. Who has the strength to do this after a long battle and passing? BEWARE !!! DO NOT ALLOW QUEEN TO SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Have a plan and go anywhere else. This has been an awful experience to deal with immediately after such a loss. Horrible bed side manner.

*Halloween themed review. Boooo!*…read more Stumbled onto this beautiful cemetery as it is right next to the Sonoma Overlook Trail. After hiking that trail down by the staging area where the cars are parked, I noticed an open gate leading to the cemetery which is in the same hills. I don't find cemeteries scary or creepy but rather reverent and humbling. Ive visited many cemeteries whether a family involvement or just to pass through and observe. And I have found that all are different, some are more interesting than others. I like ones with more landscape features such as hills, more plant life/trees, well laid out/organized. I don't care for one's next to modern commercial buildings or when there are more dirt or concrete than plant life. That is just a personal aesthetic preference. This Mountain Cemetery fits its name, as well as my eye and senses. It is beautiful just to stroll around if you are not scared of the nature and essence of death. Every culture handles it in its own ways and i can respect them all. It's how we honor and remember those who pass and gave is what's more important to me. The older headstones most with birthdates from the 1800s seemed to be higher up in the hills. The more recent ones seem to be lower. But I loved all the oak and cedar trees, lots of shade. There was even a thick patch of prickly pear cactus. There's also a veterans cemetery right below this public one. That one is very manicured and succinct. There are trails that weave through all this. To hike these hills, you will not only get a great dose of fresh air and exercise, but you may also get a moment to thank those that have lived and contributed; and more importantly to me, to appreciate those who are still currently here. A very humanizing experience.

Beautiful walk, views and discoveries of families, years and stone styles. It is an active cemetery, so be respectful of the environment. There is a parking lot and it is connected to a bunch of trails. In fact there is a street sign in the middle of the cemetery guiding you to the main forest trail. By the parking lot, there is also a Veterans memorial and an open-field park. Peaceful and beautiful.

This is probably the most beautiful, well kept, part historic/part modern cemetery I've ever been…read moreto. Like some, I came to know this cemetery in relation to someone buried there. For people who are interested in history (especially of Fairfield/Solano County) or quiet places to be away from the hustle and bustle of the living, this is a place to go to. I really have a thing for cemeteries that are part of a church yard/church courtyard. So old style! Some of the history of this cemetery goes all the way back to when Captain Waterman first bought and founded Solano County (Fairfield was named after his hometown: Fairfield in CT!). Captain Waterman's young daughter is buried here. Many of the old headstones have beautiful, green moss growing on them, and giant old trees growing up from the ground and reaching out to shade the ancient dead from the sun they endured in their lifetimes. The script used for carving into the old headstones are beautiful and varied from headstone to headstone. There is a very remarkable Celtic Cross headstone in the old part of the cemetery (and the people I know are in the newer part, and so far I've only raved about the old part!). The grass is very well kept here. Everything is beautifully maintained. This place is so peaceful, and from what I have been told it is also one of the least expensive. I have been to quite a few cemeteries, and I have never been to one with landscaping as impeccable and appropriate. Even if you don't already any of the folks in this cemetery, it's beautiful enough to make a stop and check out. I know it's a cemetery, but it's also very peaceful!

Getting here takes you through the countryside, with vineyards and farms surrounding the landscape. The cemetery is located not far from Sonoma's town center... about a 2 minute drive. Parking is no problem here. The hall that sits adjacent to the cemetery has an abundance of parking spots. This is a small but impressive plot of land. The black marble headstones align in rows surrounding the center of the cemetery. At center, there are flags representing each military branch surrounding the large Star of Honor. On the star, the names of the vets buried here are engraved. And somewhere on this star, is engraved the name of an old friend. We were in the service together, and he passed away while still in. I come pay my respects almost yearly, in what becomes a bittersweet moment. But this beautiful and peaceful place, a just final resting place for my old friend.

One of the recommendations was this place for burial. My siblings and mom met with Jacob who showed us the lots available, talked to us about headstones, coordinated with the funeral home during the funeral. It's surreal visiting my Dad at a cemetery but it's reassuring to see how the grounds are kept clean, the grass watered and healthy through the late spring, summer and winter.

I have six family members at this cemetery. I live out of state so I try to visit every few years…read more After 3 years the "flush with the lawn" type grave markers are grown over and barely visible. I remembered tools to help me clear off the weeds, cut dry grass, and dirt. Gotta remember a whisk broom and liquid cleaner next time. I got 4 out of 6 graves located and cleaned up. Steve, the caretaker, was very busy with current funeral needs and I left prior to having him help me with locating the last 2. I figure I will call in advance of my next visit and locate on a map. There is just one caretaker and a volunteer who help to maintain the sites, be patient with requests. I have accepted that when I am in the area, it is up to me to make sure to do maintenance. It gives me a chance to do some "remembering" of those beloved family members, including my mom.
