Was quite difficult to consistently make out the trail markings and follow along with maps. It also feels quite isolated so would reccomend going with someone. The entry ride into the park is quite long, narrow and only accommodates one car at a time. It is also gravel so its important to drive at a moderate speed. Most of the trails are gravel/dirt and there is a lot of greenery to admire. They also have multiple docks available for fishing or to admire the water. I went in the month of May '25 and there were a lot of ticks around, so be mindful and be sure to check yourself after your walk/hike.

We turned around 30 minutes in walking with our Aussie dog. But we got to the end of the dam and it was beautiful! We hiked the first weekend of January so some parts was a little muddy. But it wasn't too bad. The only thing I wished this park had was running toilets. I believe it was only an outdoor porta potty. But then again, we didn't do the entire trail, so I might be wrong. Parking is $3/car for in-state (Maryland) cars and $5/car for out-of-state.

The trail is well-worn, gravel, mud, dirt, lots of tree roots, moss and great little foot bridges here there. The path peeks out of the woods for a view of the lake only two or three times. There isn't really any shoreline but I'm not sure I'd swim or wade in this lake. Anyways, I'm reviewing the trail here, since I'm not much of a watercraft or fishing person. We did see kayaks and canoes out on the lake. The small parking lot is new, and we assume so is the fully equipped washroom/toilet building. Fresh water is available from a dispenser there. Nice! Zero shade for parked cars though, which I've always thought was weird in any car park. There are extra long and easy park spots for trailering. There's a small boat launch and dock. Locals suggested we use the trail between May and October, but to beware of the usual forest nasties like ticks, horseflies, mozzys and other biting critters and snakes. We saw lots of tiny frogs, turtles, birds and squirrels. We went on a Sunday and crossed paths with 3 cyclists, 4 pedestrians, 2 dogs and horse prints along the trail. Dogs are allowed on leash. The trail was super clean, no litter or dog poop along the way. Loved the hike! Took us about 2h45min to complete the loop. Bring your debit/credit card for the automated entry gate: $5 out of state, and $3 in state. Worth it!!!

Lancaster Dog Park - I often bring my dog to the large dog side of the 2 dog parks. The large dog…read moreside is about a acre square, fenced in by a 6ft chain link. Both large and small dog parks are double gated so the dogs cant get out and run off. The area for the small dogs is maybe a third if the size of the large dog side. There is fresh water for your dog to get drinks and there's a poopie bag dispenser so you can clean your mess. Most of the people here pay attention to their dogs behavior and I personally haven't seen a blown out dog fight. Its a good social spot for you and your dog. Not much seating area but there are a few fixed benches in the fenced parks. Parking is usually available and near the park entrances. If your dog needs a energy release, give this place a try.

Luckily they had an offer going on for membership. 2 years for $300. My husband got me the deal right away so I can come to the area more often. It's absolutely worth it. We pay for the cart fee or walking fee which is very nominal. The course is in decent shape. Some greens need more maintenance and some bunkers need some work too. But for a beginner like me, I would absolutely recommend this course. It's not a difficult course. You can spray the drive and you can still play the ball unlike other courses with many penalties. They have a good driving range as well. Highly recommend joining their membership if you're in the area. They also host various tournaments for members throughout the year. One of the tournaments you can bring your buddy as well.

It has all the basic equipments to get a nice workout done. They have two group class floors if you want to use that for stretching or warmups. Decent cardio machines as well. Nice and clean as everyone wipes down the machine after a workout. Locker rooms are decent. They have a sauna and a couple of showers. Bathroom Definitely needs renovation. The entire facility, including the pool, is wheelchair accessible. This also includes a separate showering area and a lift for the pool, an elevator to the wellness floor and trainers that specialize in rehabilitation to help you with the machines.
