They also said my NP who prescribed my medication was off that day and and another attending would not write a script without seeing me first for another $179. What... I guess the other attending couldn't read my file, or even make a phone call to the NP??? I went in while experiencing a miscarriage. I arrived at 7pm and was told that an ultrasound tech…read morewas on call and had already been called due to another patient experiencing the same symptoms that I was and needing an ultrasound as well. I was told that once the tech was called, she had an hour to report in so it may be a wait. From about 8pm when I was moved to the ER side (apparently required due to needing an ultrasound), I was left in the room and would leave to go out in the hallway and check in with nurses to find out when I would be seen or any updates on the tech arriving. I did this about every half hour since I had been previously told she had an hour to report in. The tech finally saw me at 12am. During the ultrasound, she had constant phone notifications sounding off and distracting her from the procedure. At one point, she had me (the patient) hold the transvaginal probe inside of my body so that she could respond to her phone. I was already quite distressed due to the nature of going through a miscarriage, and this made it much worse. The cherry on top was the bill I received. $3400 (after insurance claims). $2000 of this portion was just due to having to check into the ER (to not be seen whatsoever) but just to have the ultrasound in that ER room. Just beware before coming here. The doctors and nurses are kind, but "on call" does not mean much to the techs. Also, beware that you will end up paying thousands if you step foot into their ER (even if no testing or care is done via ER services).

The receptionist, the nurses, X-ray tech and doctors have always been friendly, helpful, and professional. It is definitely helpful that a patient can check in at the urgent care and if needed, the visit can be changed to ER level without ever leaving the room. I've worked in healthcare myself for most of my adult life and I can recognize staff members who are dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. I'm very pleased with all the staff members I have met here. If you are in need of urgent care this is the best in the area. Highly recommend.

My wife is a 69-year-old woman. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, she visited the Hazel Dell Parkway…read moreoffice of Riverview Health Urgent Care in Carmel, Indiana with a complaint of chest pain. At the time she was recovering from bronchitis. She has had bronchitis before and knew what the associated pain from coughing feels like; this pain was different and she mentioned that during her visit. The attending physician, James Beeson, M.D., ordered a chest x-ray and subsequently ruled out pneumonia. He then sent her home. At NO time did he listen to her heart, ask about her cardiovascular health or history, perform an EKG, test for cardiac enzyme levels, or seem to consider her heart as a possible cause of the pain. Further, he spent less than five minutes with her and seemed distracted or preoccupied. Finally, at discharge she received no paperwork. At 2:30 a.m. the following day (Wednesday, March 18th) she awoke with severe chest pain and sweating. She could have ignored this since the doctor indicated that it's just bronchitis, but did not. I drove her to the Emergency Department at Riverview Health in Noblesville, Indiana where testing determined that she was having a heart attack. Cardiac catheterization that day revealed that that her left coronary artery was 95% occluded, the scenario known as the "widow maker." Their Interventional Cardiologist was able to use a balloon catheter to open that artery somewhat but was unable to place any stents. This necessitated a second procedure where the calcification was reamed out, after which he placed three stents. As we subsequently reviewed this whole chain of events it seems patently obvious to us that Dr. Beeson completely missed the obvious (her heart) when considering her complaint of chest pain (which we now know was angina). Further, had he considered and acted upon that possibility by immediately sending her to the Emergency Department for further evaluation, then the occlusion would have been discovered and addressed that day, and she would not have suffered the heart attack the following day; it could have been medically avoided. Dr. Beeson clearly misdiagnosed her chest pain, and the result was an avoidable heart attack and the mental stress and anguish associated with it. When we brought this matter, via e-mail, to the attention of Julie Nix, Riverview's President and CEO; Rick Henvey, the CEO of Riverview's parent, Parkview Hospital; and Maddie Larson, Riverview Health's Director of Quality, Ms. Larson responded via e-mail saying, in part, "We understand how distressing this whole experience has been for you and sincerely apologize for that. Upon receiving your email, we once again reviewed the care you received with the appropriate clinical leadership. While we are unable to discuss personnel matters or confidential aspects of our quality review process, please know that the review of this case was thorough and rest assured that appropriate follow-up and education has occurred." Later she stated, "At this time, we will consider this matter closed." I find that the actions purported to have been taken, and Riverview Health's overall response, to be totally insufficient. My wife suffered an avoidable heart attack and Riverview and Dr. Beeson get off scot-free?!?!?! That is simply unacceptable. It seems to us that they are attempting to sweep this matter under the rug. My recommendation is that you seek your healthcare elsewhere!

I'm still giving Saxony a good rating because overall I would say it is the best hospital I have…read morebeen to but I need to update to share my last experience about 2 weeks ago. First of all, more than once (2-3 times recently probably) something has gone wrong with a lab test and either they forgot to test for part of what they meant to in the first place or it got contaminated and had to be redone. I understand things happening because we live in a world with germs, but having to come back multiple times because they "forgot to do the 'sensitivity' part of a (culture and sensitivity) urine test" is ridiculous. Sometimes it feels like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. All they need to do is read the order from the doctor to find out what needs to be done, and make sure it all gets done. When I first got there, I was called up to the check-in desk and the process was started to check me in, but they were backed up with patients (the receptionist's words were, "I'm going to go ahead and do your registration out here too because they are swamped back at the windows"--after checking in at the front desk there is usually no wait to go down the hall to the window to register). After standing at the desk for about 5 minutes--maybe more, I'm not sure--I was told to go have a seat in the lab waiting area because the computer was freezing up and they couldn't complete the registration process. They would call me up when it unfroze. After sitting there for another 5 minutes or so, another patient walked over, obviously having been told the same thing, and whispered under her breath, with a roll of her eyes, "hurry up and wait!" :-D After just a few minutes waiting there, I was called back by the tech, after sorting out the confusion as to why I didn't yet have my check-in bracelet or stickers. The tech who took me back obviously wasn't extremely happy to be there (or she was feeling the stress of the front desk) because when she took me down the hall she didn't even verify my name or birthdate for the computer system as they usually do, and she practically threw the specimen cup at me and sent me on my way across the hall, without offering to hold the door or help me carry it (I use forearm crutches to walk, and although I am perfectly capable of carrying things like that the courteous gesture is always appreciated). The second reason I am lowering my rating from this last visit is because of the restroom. Every time I have used the lab restroom for a test, it has been almost spotless--no trash on the floor, clean/dry sink and surrounding area, soap and paper towel dispenser full. This time, however, none of that was true. There was water around the edge of the sink, the paper towel dispenser was empty, so I had to dry my hands on my pants, there was a giant trash bag full of trash sitting ON TOP OF the waste basket, and (this might have been the grossest part--it has happened a few other times) there was a full specimen cup in the metal receptacle when I opened it to put mine in! The lab techs had obviously not checked before I went in to make sure they got everything. I don't know if this had been an extra busy day (I think it was mid-afternoon on a Friday that I was there), if they were understaffed or what, but no one wants to use a restroom in that condition. This was definitely not the best visit I have had here but I love this hospital for other reasons so overall these are not enough reasons to turn me away. I just hope they work on figuring out how to handle really busy days with high volumes of patients.

They didn't reach out to the patients daughter when she passed.. she had to hear from a third party. And when the patient had had a bad fall prior to passing the person incharge named Jason insisted on not calling the fire department and handeling it himself which was a mistake and she couldn't get up for over 30 min and ended up getting help anyway from the firefighters. The food sucks, the patient called it a hell hole it was so bad. The laundry always went missing, the nurses take up to an hour to come when you hit the help button even for emergency!!! they are insistence we get their belongings out of her room so they can make more profit for a new patient to come in. She hated every second in this place and I'll do my best to make sure people don't go here. If you care at all for your loved ones don't take them here!!! And rest in peace to my friend always, you didn't deserve this horrid place, the food, the treatment, the rudeness. They were truly horrible To her in her final days. And now that she has passed they are still being horrible and rushing us packing up her stuff. Called that we have 2 days to do so... she just passed. :( My only positive note is that Winnie was truly special to this patient. She was caring, has patience, was kind and always a glimmer of hope for her. The true bright light and glue of this facility.
