Almost all of the teachers and staff have been incredible. No place is 100% perfect but variety is the spice and we've seen the right ones stay through the years. They really see each child, they challenge them, and they communicate well in the app the school uses to organize communications. Our 5th grader came in shy and has found a lot of confidence and our 3rd grader loves going to school every morning. It's a small, historic school so it seems like everyone knows everyone. The principal, front office, cafeteria staff know the kids by name. It feels safe, warm, and like a real neighborhood community school even though we're in the concrete village of Brickell. The other families are usually wonderful too and over the years our kids friends' parents have become our friends... hope that lasts. Academics are strong for sure but it doesn't really feel like they operate off of test scores. There are art projects on the walls, they do little project and science fairs several times a year, performances, and they celebrate every culture... it's Miami so we have plenty of those! My kids have gone the last 2 summers and are very happy. The staff in general are very accommodating with needs as grouping children goes. They give a lot of flexibility with that. The teachers are very knowledgeable about Montessori education as well as the methods involved and they take it very seriously. They are very hands on with the children and strike a great balance between having a serious learning environment filled with love and understanding. I recently enrolled my younger son in the Il Nido class for infants and he loves it so much that some days he does not want to come home :) I can't recommend this school enough!
