Visited this establishment and although the staff were friendly the food was bland. It's not typical Japanese food. The hibachi never touches a grill. I don't normally write negative reviews, especially of small businesses, but the sashimi, nigiri, and buckwheat noodles I ate here were genuinely the worst I've ever eaten. I don't have a high bar-- I'll eat 2 day old "Krab" meat California rolls from the grocery store without complaint. The fish at Sake House II was mealy and tasted like it was not only frozen-then-thawed, but also old. I was only able to *try* to eat it. I only actually swallowed one of the sashimi pieces. After chewing, but not swallowing, the two other types of sashimi, I gave up. The chewed sushi went into my paper napkin because I didn't want food poisoning. And it wasn't cheap, especially for food I was afraid to swallow. This mom-and-pop needs to either stop trying to serve sushi, or commit to serving fresh, decent quality raw fish. They should only be serving stir fry, teriyaki, and tempura if they don't want to maintain a reasonable standard for their raw fish. I'm talking worse than 2 day old grocery store "sushi". I'd take my money and appetite elsewhere if I were you. read more

I've been to Sake House II a few times for lunch now, and I usually order a noodle dish and some a la carte sushi/sashimi/maki. The fish is always fresh, with very good sushi rice. The soup broth is tasty without being too salty. Crowds don't seem to rush in for lunch, which makes for a nice quiet atmosphere. We came 30 minutes before closing and didn't order very quickly. We had a long day at the beach with our 5 and 7 yr olds. These folks were so patient and we never felt hurried by them. We ordered the mixed vegetables stir fry dinner, beef teriyaki bento box, peppered beef bento box, ginger salad, miso soup, a Philadelphia roll and a dancing eel roll. It was all good! Our favorites were the beef teriyaki and the miso soup and the dancing eel roll. The children especially enjoyed the dumplings in their bento box. Our server was a young guy (I'm sorry we didn't get his name). He was pretty fast and a fun person. We just want to say thank you to you guys for your professional service and for serving our family dinner. It was delicious! read more

Definitely a go to place. There is something on the menu that will hit the spot every time. It's a small restaurant and normally there is only one waitress working at a time. It's owned and ran by a husband and wife who work constantly so they will randomly take a morning off and open at 4pm or take a random weekend off. Extremely disappointed in the quality of sushi. Had sashimi first as I always do to see quality of fish. Hamachi looked cooked and tasted old, very small pieces same with salmon. Salmon skin hand roll....where's the salmon skin, another very skimpy offering. I enjoy good sushi for two reasons, 1st great sashimi, then the art of the presentation. My husband and I just got in to the area tonight and wanted a quick dinner. We ordered take out from sake 2 and it was ready in only 10 minutes. Even though it was made fast, the food was fresh and so good! I ordered an avocado roll and a cucumber roll. My husband ate orange chicken. It was good size portions and we are full! His dinner came with rice and soup. All of the food came out to $21.00, which isn't a terrible price for two people to eat a satisfying meal. We will be back! read more

The edamame seemed like the kind you get from the frozen section of the grocery store, not very fresh. I'd definitely go back for the sushi though. Yum! Side note, in the bathroom they have a hand scrub for your hands that is amazing. It smells heavenly and makes your hands so silky smooth. You can actually purchase it from them. My partner had the spicy beef which had good flavor but was not spicy at all. The waitress described it incorrectly. She said it was cooked with jalapeños. Not a jalapeño in sight. Excellent food. Our party of seven tried a variety of the menu items. This is authentic Japanese food. The sushi was made to order. The sesame chicken was excellent, the best any of us have tasted. The Bento boxes were excellent. Great value for the proportions you receive. The service was excellent. The spicy tempura Crap roll was excellent.
