It was a relief to find F & S Electric who was more than capable of emailing me a price and also telling me if I wanted to save money I could shop around and buy my own detectors instead of buying the brand they had in stock. So that is what I did. I was given a day and time for installation without a long wait. The electrician showed up exactly on time. First, they pick up the phone…read more Second, having picked up the phone, they employ an actual office staff to schedule appointments and not some guy you can barely hear in the middle of a job who never calls you back. Third, they actually do schedule these appointments and maintain communication via email, texts, etc. This is a marked improvement over the guy you can barely hear in the middle of a job who never calls you back. Fourth, the electrician who came was competent, timely, and flexible (he came a day earlier than scheduled). Other reviewers here and elsewhere have complained about costs. I had no issues whatsoever. The price was reasonable for the electrical work he wound up doing. He explained some parts of the electrical system that I didn't understand and clarified that I didn't need any extra work done. Obviously I appreciated that candor. He was also a pretty good dude, easy to relate/talk to, and I always prefer dealing with friendly contractors than sour ones. So in sum, this is a professional outfit and what I've come to expect in the 21st century, with an office staff, scheduling software, and prompt, helpful specialists--but sadly it's something I don't often find in the world of contracting.

We also called the electrician that installed our whole house generator a couple of years ago. We left msg with that dude several times, & he didn't even have the courtesy to return the call & say sorry, too busy! Anyway, Romano was one of 3 who returned our call. Chris wasnt able to come by the same day but said he would call us the next day. The other 2 electricans left us with a "I'll call you next week if I have the time to come by" vibe. Translates to; let me see how my cash flow is going, & If I need money, I'll go by. Not Chris! He called us back within 30 min of our original call. Apologized he couldn't make it that day, but would be here the next day by a certain time. AND HE WAS! Dressed neatly, worked neatly & kept the mess (dust etc) to the minimum. Cleaned his work area as he went along, realizing he was in a kitchen & sawdust didn't mix well with food. Worked quickly. The following day we realized another switch wasnt working. We called him back. He was a bit confused a moment bc he hadn't touched that circuit, but was determined to solve the mystery. Our house was built in 1850. Layer of ceilings covered old wires from several decades ago. He was able to trace the wiring & power without cutting a large hole in my ceiling. Just 2 small squares. He was able to find the short in the wiring & patched the ceiling quite well too. Chris will be my first call in the future.

Had a preventative maintenance appointment today for my home electrical systems. my electrician…read morewas Paul Borges. He was outstanding in every way. arrived on time, very professional and friendly. thoroughly explained what he was going to do. He discovered that I had no power in my smoke detectors! they were running on battery only! He quickly diagnosed the problem as a loose wire in one of the 9 detectors. He disassembled the unit and fixed the problem while telling me exactly what he was doing. Also showed me how to tell if the power in the units was on so it did not happen again. great service. They came for an annual check of our heating system (forced hot air). Technician took several…read morepictures inside of the system and said that the 18 year old furnace had cracks and a pin hole. They turned off the gas and would not turn it back on. Said it was illegal to do so and that we needed a new system for just under 11K. I said I wanted a second opinion. They emailed me the pics of furnace and I forwarded them to the Company that installed furnace when condo was built They came to inspect the next morning and could not find any cracks or holes. Pictures did not match up with my unit. Thought it looked as good as new. I canceled my monthly plan and will find someone else to service unit from now on.
