I was very displeased with my recent visit here. I had some extra time before a work meeting. So I strolled the mall. I like window shopping so I went to Saks. I found a couple things I liked so an associate assisted me to open a fitting room. I started trying on the top and jeans and a different female associate busts into my room without knocking. I was not dressed. No apology from her but rather a demand to know who let me in this room. I described the woman and she asked me to switch rooms. I told her I need to get dressed first! Well, it got even more bizarre.. A man walked into my fitting room. I don't even know what he said but I said you need to get out of here. He was an associate as well. I was very mad and left the clothes and just left. I told the woman she needs to be more professional. I know Saks is having financial issues but nothing is an excuse for doing that to a customer. Beyond that, the ladies in the cosmetics department were very pushy for me to try their products. I was just walking through to leave the store. Very disappointing experience at the men's department in Saks West Palm Beach. Staff had no measuring tape and seemed unsure how to size a basic dress shirt. We ended up figuring out the size ourselves by trying multiple shirts. Then an associate had to manually search the floor for the correct size and color, and after several minutes returned empty-handed. Because of the lack of organization and product knowledge, the team couldn't really explain or sell the value of the brands they carry. Epic nightmare, no customer service. Literally no one can help at a luxury retailer. What an epic joke. Learned my lesson why Saks is bankrupt. they are operating as a discount retailer. Bought two pair of designer shoes in May - Gucci high top military inspired sneakers (in the photo) and Prada sandals. The forth time I wore the Gucci shoes couple of months later I noticed the distinctive difference in the color of the soles. I'm in Canada for summer, didn't bring my receipt with me, so naturally I tried calling Saks. Saks customer service number and email cannot help me because they deal only with online orders (in what world?!!!!). In the Boca mall store I was finally able to get a hold of the person who sold me the shoes since the STORE DOES NOT HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL! He literally disappeared when I asked him if he can please email me the receipt or add the purchase to our Gucci account because Gucci store in Montreal Canada requires proof of purchase to solve the warranty issues. The guy (name Mike) who happily took the commission from the sale, stopped responding. I have learned my lesson to buy only from the designer stores because these retailers forget why luxury is luxury - not because of the quality of the items unfortunately, but of the quality of the customer service. Skip a nightmare experience and go straight to designer boutique. They are amazing and thankfully we have a long standing relationship with Gucci who are now trying to reach Saks and take care of this. read more

Saks has a full service make up counter with services that included a makeup tutorial and color matching for every skin type. This is my second full line Saks store I've ever visited. The other one being of course their NYC location. You can't really compare the two, and you shouldn't. Totally different animals. This particular store is located in the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton. It is big and spacious, it has all the designer pavilions such as Gucci, YSL, LV, Stella McCartney and more. They also have a wide range of mid designers that are more catered to the masses. Like Veronica Beard, Alice + Olivia and such. I saw lots of beautiful garments I'd love to have in my wardrobe. Their prices are not cheap, and some things feel quite overpriced for what they are, but you are getting an experience. I did find the sales people to be a little pushy. There was this one woman that kept asking us every couple of minutes if we needed help and giving us her name, at one point, we had to tell her in a more stern manner that we would let her know if we needed help. I don't like these commission based jobs because I feel they pester you, but I guess that is also part of the experience. Terrible service -- I'll never shop at Saks Fifth Avenue again I have been a customer of Saks Fifth Avenue for years and spent thousands there, but my recent experience destroyed my trust in the store. I purchased a suit and was explicitly told by a salesperson that alterations would be done for free if I returned later. Based on that assurance -- and past instances when alterations were handled without issue -- I left the suit to be altered. When I came back to have the alterations done, I was told they would charge me. I explained what I'd been told, that it was promised as complimentary, and that this was the reason I delayed returning. The staff refused to honor the original promise. I asked to speak with a manager; instead of resolving the issue, the manager argued with me and offered no reasonable solution or apology. The whole interaction felt dismissive and combative. Customer service at Saks used to be a reason I shopped there, but this experience showed a lack of accountability and respect for loyal customers. Promises were broken, communications were poor, and management was unhelpful. I've taken my business elsewhere -- Nordstrom handled a similar situation professionally and restored my confidence in retail customer service. If you value clear communication, honest staff, and managers who actually solve problems, I can't recommend Saks Fifth Avenue. I'm done -- they lost a long-time, high-spending customer. read more

I visited Saks Fifth Avenue in Boca Raton, FL, on October 8, 2025, to return a dress that had arrived damaged. The sales associate, department manager, and Assistant General Manager (Kimbel Zumwalt) were three of the most unprofessional Saks employees I have encountered in my 25 + years as a customer. You have permanently lost me as a customer to that store. Possibly, to Saks as well. They made me feel as if I were responsible for receiving the damaged item. They would not assist me in the store with the return unless I called and got a case number. I am the customer. Your company sent me a damaged item. I DO NOT work for your company. When you are a multi-million-dollar company, you should not expect your customers to jump through hoops to return a damaged item that still has all the tags and security tags attached. They could have assisted me, but they chose not to. Instead, they all decided that it was their prerogative to accept or reject the return, based on what was printed on the receipt generated by the register. However, this was an online item, and I had a completely different receipt. Additionally, there is no policy posted at the return desk or on my receipt that the customer is required to call customer service and obtain a "case number" for a damaged item before it can be returned. I was honest; I pointed out the defect in the item, so the store did not resell it, which would have caused another customer to be unhappy with the product. Their behavior and lack of customer service are abhorrent. I understand backing up your employee, but this was beyond any reasonable conversation, and a "finger" in the face from all 3 since I was not about to create more of a scene, and they had already made up their mind to keep telling me it was a store policy, although not posted anywhere for a customer to see. On top of it all, if you try to reach the store to speak with the actual GM, Barbara Wolfson, you will probably have more luck winning the lottery. read more

I'm leaving for Europe for the Olympics and needed some new things. I arrived at 6:52 pm. Started looking and pulling clothing to try on. I was abruptly advised by an arrogant young man that works near the jeans area that they were closing and that he'd just straighten all the racks. He was clearly irritated. I apologized and asked why they closed at 7 when all of Miami closed at 9pm. He didn't know or care. The question was basically greeted with the hand and a neck roll. So 2 things. I'm not a Karen. But I'm allowed to get annoyed sometimes. I'm a mass consumer of luxury goods. I could have spent $20k in this store in 30 minutes if allowed. And I probably will at Neiman Marcus tomorrow. I've spent a lot of money at Saks and Neiman Marcus so I've earned the right in my opinion. These 2 stores close at 7 at this mall. So silly. Firstly, revisit your staffing choices. I don't need attitude from a cocky 23 year old boy. I won't return because of this. Secondly, this store is infested with men that smoke a lot of weed. They come for the tacky shoes. This store has a mediocre selection on its best day to begin with but it's been awhile so I tried. It's closer to me than anything South. There is a reason nobody is ever in this store. Anchor stores should all be open until 9pm period. This mall just allows stores to close whenever they want. It's so random and Google is often wrong about hours of operation. I love Saks and the quality of merchandise they have. Recently I bought a few things from online. One of the products being a Versace watch. I went to the store to get the links out. The employee who worked in the watch department was wonderful. He measured my wrist. The links to the last point could be taken off to a certain extent. Over the years the Boca Town Center has updated the mall interior significantly with marble flooring in most of the walking area. One of the flagship stores of the Boca Town Center is the Saks store. This store was one of the top stores of the mall and it finally looks like the rest of the mall has finally caught up to this place. Being a showcase store everything in this store is top of the line and you better be prepared to spend significantly for anything you want to buy. Customers spend a lot of cash when they visit this store. The employees are extremely well informed and walk around like models at a fashion show. They have runway pieces and in season inventory. Recently shopped here and was happy with the experience. They can improve on one thing, men's fragrances are scattered throughout the beauty counters with womens' fragrances and make up. When we walked in there was no one around, but then quickly realized that everyone working was on their phone. The people who I thought were shoppers were employees texting. We were then offered help, but they went back to their phones. Now, I love my cell phone, but if I'm dealing with a customer, I'm gonna put it away for those five or ten minutes. Also it was near impossible to get a fitting room, yet after I finally was able to get into one after speaking to 3 sales people and a good 15 min later, the sales lady was only attentive when she saw she might be able to get some commission out of me because I wanted to buy something... but they didn't have it in store in my size which I easily discovered with no assistance whatsoever by going back to the clothing rack, so instead of this lady talking to me which I found irritating at this point- she should have been letting other waiting customers into fitting rooms. This is why commission based sales is a bad idea. I mean 2 sales people trained efficiently could have run a register and the fitting rooms, Now if they just left the fitting rooms unlocked/ there's one person more they could put on a register so people don't have to wait. Having sales people wandering the floor is just irritating at best. I certainly do not want or need any assistance when just looking at the garment selections. I can also clearly see for myself that the dress I want is not here in my size, and I have a smart phone so I can order online with absolutely zero assistance whatsoever. I absolutely did not come to the store to chat or make friends with sales people. so basically outside of the 2 things they are actually needed for- they all seem to want to just wander the floor and chat with customers instead of tidy up the store or work efficiently. Saks clearly needs to train their sales people to be less "friendly" and to just do work, not try to start up unwanted conversations. If I desired a more attentive shopping experience that's what appointments with stylists and personal shoppers are for... it should not be how the floor staff are trained too. Saks used to be my home away from home in my last life and before the economic downturn in 2008. The company is now owned by a Canadian group Hudson Bay in 2013 and it lost it"s luster for me. Albeit not many places to get high end menswear and Saks still fills this niche for me. So shopping for that special something for hubby's Christmas present. I enter the men's department and quickly find exactly what I want. A long sleeve dark blue linen shirt. It will look fantastic on hubby on one of our date nights or next cruise. They have his size and I make my way to the register. The salesman Nelson is eager to assist me. In fact without asking wraps the gift for me. Nice touch and one less present to wrap. So I recently purchased some shoes from this location in which they shipped defected shoes to my house. I return them to their store and they said that they could not process Venmo debit cards for refund. They made me take my shoes home and request for a shipping label which I did. It has now been six months they never gave me my refund back. They told me that they are not returning my money, and I physically went into the store and they're telling me that they gave a gift card to someone and that someone has spent it which would be their employee because I never received a gift card. Their employee manager has now stolen from me and they're getting away with it.
