First of all Saks Off 5th is understaffed, disorganized, disheveled and customer service is non existent. My recent trip was to find a gift for my wife while at Charlotte Premium Outlet and at first things seemed promising but quickly went downhill. As I'm browsing the woman's section, I see that there really is no organization, price tags are missing and many items are overpriced. Simply put, I personally don't recommend Saks Off 5th because they have too many issues that need to be dealt with. It seems to me that the associates need to be retrained in customer service and keeping the store looking presentable. . I've been into the store twice in the last two weeks and both times I was followed by the same sales associate (dasha). She literally followed me and my family the entire time. I asked to speak to the manager to try to handle things the correct way but instead of listening to the customer. The manager was very condescending. She automatically said my claims were false and that she knew the associate wouldn't do that. Whoever another customer also agreed saying she did the same thing to him but of course the store manager still denied it and brushed us off as if she was present Then proceeded to say we were aggressive to deflect from the actual situation. Ok so I'm only giving 2 stars because I found great designer boots and the cashier was so nice. Omg I found some beautiful givenchy and fendi boots for half the retail price. I can't believe I found these. I saw them on the way out. So glad I saw them. What Bothered me was the customer service I received. I was waiting on my shoes to try them on. They lady helping me was so rude and didn't look like she wanted to be there. She kept asking me do I want them or not? She was looking at me so weird. I didn't get it. I've never experienced that. She must of thought I was just window shopping. But who cares even if I was? I was so friendly and always smile so I don't get her issue. Maybe it was a bad day but I don't care. That's not my problem. If you choose to work in retail you need to smile and be happy to help customers. Otherwise stay your ass at home or find another job. My sister was with me and she also picked up on her attitude. She asked me "what is her problem?!" I almost asked her what is her problem but I let it go because I was so happy for my great shoe finds. And I try not to let anything upset me. She seemed like she didn't want to get the other shoe for me to try on both. I had to ask twice. I said "I'll like to walk with them on if you don't mind". I asked for another pair and she said we don't have your size but I have a feeling she was lying. She was over it. I only asked for two pairs it's not like I took up a lot of her time. She took my other boots to the front without me trying them on. I asked to try those on too because I can't buy shoe without wearing them first. She sucked her teeth and went to go get them. I got them both but only because I loved them; otherwise I would have walked out of there and never come back. She needs to find a new job or maybe work in the back so she is away from customers. The cashier was so sweet though. She made up for it. I was about to ask for a manager. I can only assume she has other complaints. Disgusting behavior. I wish I got her name so I could add it to this review. She was petite and light skinned. She was most likely from New York. I heard an accent(I'm also from NY). Matter fact if I go back later this week I'll see if she working. I'll get her name and speak with management. But anyway I love this outlet mall and location. Fraud gift cards!! Don't fall for the gift card scam !! If you Spend $ and they give a card with a dollar amount. It's worthless, you can only use it in a tiny window of time in the future that they don't tell about!! You are supposed to keep it stapled so know way to read the back. Calling this place a Walmart would be a compliment... No customer service, only cashiers and They won't tell you about a promotion in 24 hours that could save you hundreds and won't adjust your receipt the very next day. Wow!! I can't believe what I just experienced there. Spent over $2000 there Saturday. A pair of pants that I purchased two days ago didn't have a tag on them. They were too big. Due to Covid the dressing room was closed. I was told that I could return them if they didn't fit. Adam the unhappy /unbelievably rude guy told me that they looked like they had been worn and they wouldn't sale then with out a tag. He went back and forth with me. Yelling and throwing his hands up. I couldn't believe the way he talked to me. I was calm and I tried to calm him down. I called my husband and my husband told me to return everything I purchased and never shop there again. Adam then told me I couldn't return the earrings I purchased and sunglasses. He wasn't having a good day clearly. My husband said he was on the way. I said no. My husband and I both know Brian the manager. He's a very nice professional guy. I can not wait until he gets there tomorrow and the guy who sold me the pants without the tag on them. I know the devil used Adam and today and GOD WON as always! The other manger came and handled my return and was very professional and nice. I did tell Adam that I will pray for him and whatever he is going through. Maybe his boyfriend broke up with him. Customer service at this Saks is HORRIBLE. Not only have I experienced the attitude and rudeness but with customers as well. My husband bought me a handbag for my birthday but the clasp wouldn't close. So we went to return and get another which they didn't have the same one. So I picked a different one. They would not let me exchange it because he took the tag off my gift but gave it to them at the exchange time. They say it has to be attached. All the other original tags and receipt are available. I was in Saks off 5th yesterday (Mothers Day) and came across a Karen for the first time in 2023! Karen was in the company of another Karen in the dressing rooms and were fuming at me because I dared to take in10 items of clothes instead of 6. No attendant was at the dressing room doors and I waited for a few minutes and went in with my bag of clothes that I am returning. I don't shop there too often and did not know the rules. I was met with a harsh how many items do you have...before I could count I was asked again, I said 11. By this time (20 minutes later) I had already tried on all the clothes and was getting dressed...Karen approaches me again to let it be known that the next time I come back I need to leave by bag.....I said there will not be a next time and she says Happy Mothers Day...I said same to you Karen! She proceeds to follow me to the cashier and as I am standing in line she touches my back shoulder and felt the need to repeat the store policy, I asked if she touched me and she lied and said NO, I asked her to move along and go about her business and she tried to give me the evil stare all while wearing a MASK!!! She yanked her walkie talkie as if she was calling security or the Saks police...very funny cause we know those are to speak to other employees. I get to the cashier, who was apparently a new employee who was being trained and she was lovely. Karen is still mean muggin me and has the nerves to ask is there anything she can do for me...I said not at this time but you made sure you had a confrontation on mothers day right.....she says I just want to make sure you have the best experience...huh?? I said NO, I am not Karen you made sure of that today. Once I was finished...I said to the nice cashier have a great day and good luck working with Karen...she is the worst! Ordered a pair of shoes which was not in stock in the size I needed for a birthday present. Gave my card to pay and added $20 for 2 day shipping. Was told it would be there by Friday. Register associate (Sumicko according to my receipt), was clearly new and needed help adding expedited shipping, etc. Today, (Monday) I called and was told it wasn't in stock in any store, and I wouldn't be receiving it, and that the person who rang me up should have checked that at the register and told me. Associate on phone (Asha I think), was Very matter of fact, and clearly could care less about any inconvenience on my part. Terrible customer service at Off Sams Charlotte premium outlets. Maybe the worst experience I have ever had shopping. I was treated with a condescending attitude after trying to point out something that I had already dealt with the same day: I had come in specifically to this store because I had extra time traveling and I ended up finding some great items that I was excited about. I got to the register and 2 of the items apparently had wildly different ringing prices than the red clearance they were marked. The cashier called twice on on here headset telling a manager the case at length. They have a policy which I know that states they only sell for what it rings. Understanding I was disappointed but removed the items and went on. The associate was pleasant and sincere. I went out quite a great distance but found I could stop back by on my way to take a little more time to look. After shopping a bit I found the 2 items put right back on the clearance rack with the same pricing and not a single second look or adjustment. I was kind of upset now but could not just let this go because I had been detained and been through a long experience already earlier and was not pleased that I was presented with the same thing again and yet another could have seen it. I went to check out and a less kind cashier found the prices wrong again and gave me the policy. I explained very clearly why this was not something that should be shaken off because the same thing is happening to me again. She called for a manager Olivia and she came to the register with an air of no concern and annoyance. I told her about all the experience and yes I'm getting more upset because I'm tired of the time this has taken me all day but I am here to do the right thing for me and any other customer. Olivia could care less and adopted a condescending air and looked me up and down with distaste. She heard nothing of what I said and gave no thought to the scene being caused now at the register because now I'm furious because there is a point when a problem arises sensitive enough that you accommodate and use it to further coach your staff on accuracy and several other points. She wouldn't do anything but condescend to me. She told me she was the manager because the store manager was out for his wife's maternity leave. She offered to write here name down because I demanded it. Preface this as I am the ideal customer anywhere I go and a pleasure because I worked for years in luxury retail and even worked at Saks for 2 years. I know what I don't like from customers and do not do that to anyone ever. I am a kind and funny joy of a customer. I was eyed and questioned and the person who I asked if he was a manager was told she's over him. A larger gentleman seeming to be security stood behind the cash wrap. Olivia made no apologies and attempted no blame or reconciliation at all but more looked at me with suspicion. I asked for a contact number for customer service and she refused to give me any number and said they don't have one and they would redirect me to the store if called. Ultimately she refused to provide me any contact information but her name. I made a small purchase without the items amongst great and embarrassing attention now at the register. Already one of the worst experiences I've had. I said I'd call and did so immediately to the main Saks and was kindly and actively listened to and advised an apology. I was told that the information would be passed on and at the first of the next week I would be called by Wednesday so I could discuss with a more important listener. Wednesday was a week ago yesterday and literally nothing. No concern, no care, and no regard. If she would have checked she would have found me a great and loyal customer. She didn't care and I guess Saks doesn't. This is the only time in my life that I have written a review of anything. I don't have time and usually don't care. I obviously care a lot about this. I would advise skipping this store because it reeks of more permeating and selfish view of management and thus staff. I don't shop dressed up. I will not dress to shop. That doesn't matter when you want to spend but this store seems to think it does. Or was that it? I was horrified and want to tell you this is a massive disappointment as is the Charlotte Premium Outlets because this is the store that got me there and now it's the one that ensures I never come back. one star is much higher praise than this nightmare of a store deserves. this is the worst laid out store i have ever been in. the floor plan changed fairly recently & apparently it's being tried out at only 10 stores. ugh. it is beyond stupid & with the crappy inventory this saks off 5th carries it is not worth the time to navigate. ugly & cheap looking rags hanging on racks that are randomly strewn about. just a cluster of crap everywhere. i think they are integrating the mens & women departments...oh goody now you can look at double the garbage as you stroll around trying to make sense of the layout. anyway it's a waste of time to visit this store. you can probably find better quality items at a garage sale. stay away! read more
