I went here Thursday for a massage because I was feeling tense and needed to relax. After the…read moremassage, I initially felt fine and even left the place a 5-star review because I had no reason at that moment to think I would have an issue. The next day, however, I started experiencing significant pain in my right shoulder and right side of my neck. I understand that some soreness can be normal after a massage, which is why I took over-the-counter medication and waited to see if it would improve. Instead, the pain continued to get worse throughout the weekend. By Sunday, it had gotten to the point where I could barely move my neck or sleep comfortably. I called the business around 1 PM because I wasn't asking for a refund--I simply wanted to see if I could come in and have the area looked at or receive some help with the pain. Jane took my information and told me she needed to speak with Sasha, the manager, and would call me back. Hours passed with no call back, so I called again around 3:40 PM. I was then told they couldn't get ahold of the technician (May) who performed my massage because they weren't working, and that they also couldn't reach the manager. I explained that I've had massages before and understand that some soreness can happen, but this was not normal soreness for me and the pain was becoming severe. I wasn't even demanding a refund. I was simply asking for some type of assistance because I was in significant pain. Instead, I was told that nothing could be done until they could speak with the technician and manager. Then, about a minute after I hung up, they called me back saying they could refund me. I agreed to the refund since they couldn't provide any assistance, but then they said they couldn't even find my transaction in their system and that I would have to contact my bank and dispute the charge. At this point, the entire experience was extremely frustrating. They couldn't reach the technician, couldn't reach the manager, and apparently couldn't even locate my transaction. What makes this even more disappointing is that I initially gave this place 5 stars. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and trusted their service, but when I actually needed assistance, I felt completely dismissed. Very poor customer service and communication. I expected at least some effort to help a customer who was experiencing significant pain after their service. Instead, I was left feeling like no one wanted to take responsibility or even help me figure out what to do.

Though the location may seem a little weary, they make sure to make you feel safe and protected. They stand on business and will remove you, if you are out of line. There's signs everywhere. Plenty of parking. As far as massage services go, they are very professional and really fantastic with preferred pressure points. I signed up for the 90 min deep tissue massage, and it got to a point, I needed to get up and get a drink of water! My massage therapist really dug into the knots and gave the area time to recover while working on other parts. They also offer their services on ClassPass if you want to try them out. If it wasn't for ClassPass, I probably would not have found this place at all or just thought what every thinks. A sketchy place, when really, it's just located in an area that makes you think otherwise. So shoutout to ClassPass for the new recommendation. Top place to relax in my books!

The place is located in a commercial shopping strip on the corner, near like a beauty supply store etc. There is plenty of parking out front. There is construction going on around it, but not bad enough to obstruct the business. Once I arrived inside. The kind lady at check-in ushered me into the room. I saw clipboards on the desk, and as we were walking, I asked, "Shouldn't I complete the forms (since I was technically a new customer)?" She said there was no need. That was strange. Didn't they want to know my info? Once inside and the services started, the therapist, I will say, did use sweedish techniques and also full body stretching. There were moments of relaxation. But overall, it was just ok. Sometimes, even a little rough, which I verbalized to her. She never really answered me back when I would say things, but she did try and adjust the pressure. Im going to presume she did her best? The lights were on during the part where I was lying on my front, which was interesting. But once I was on my back, she dimmed the lights. The bonus - She did do hot stone on my back, which I was surprised about. Because this is normally a separate charge for most places, as it's an add-on service. But they didn't charge me more for it. Maybe they include it with the swedish massage? Either way, I appreciated that. At the end, I asked for the therapist name as she was walking out, and she said Angela. I bet a lot of people probably really enjoy Angela. She did exactly 55 min hands-on. But it just was not a worthwhile experience to come again. The nice lady at the desk that had checked me in, of course, asked how my massage was. I tried to explain, but I'm not sure she understood what I shared. I likely wouldn't visit again, but I am so glad others have come here and enjoyed their experiences, hence their 5 star rating.

My reflexologist had VERY strong hands, and he was kind enough to check in every so often to ensure it wasn't too much pressure. First time visitors who normally don't venture outside of the I-10 loop, we accidentally passed the house and had to make a circle, but it is right on Studewood, so stay alert or you might just miss it! There is a tiny lot behind the house, but there was only one other car there so we were able to park without issue. (Not sure where you would park if there were more than 2-3 cars..street parking a couple of blocks away? Won't be a problem while businesses are limiting capacity due to COVID though.) Our room was simple but clean. Didn't notice any hooks or places to put our clothes so we just placed them on a counter near the separate fridge-but-for-hot-things (It looked like a mini-fridge but I'm pretty sure the hot towels/coals were stored there, haha). Jamie and Sammy were our masseuses, and they asked us the pressure level before they beginning. The boyfriend wanted deep tissue, and I went with medium pressure. Next time, I will probably ask for deep tissue for my upper/lower back, but medium pressure was perfect for my legs and arms. They really stretched out our muscles and massaged areas I didn't even know were sore! My boyfriend proclaimed this was his favorite massage he's gotten. Sammy pinpoint all his knots and targeted all his sore spots. If I had to be nitpicky, I would say that in the beginning of the massage the phone rang several times (like at least 4 times in a row), and even with the doors closed and the background spa music it was audible. Perhaps if there was a way for their phone system to automatically go to voicemail or be silenced if there is no one at the front desk, that would have elevated the overall experience. Prices are pretty reasonable, perhaps a little higher than I can afford to come back regularly but worth it! We'll return.
