Jie G.

We were new to town and searching for a quick bite for salad. We ordered the Thai wrap to go but it seems they forgot to add the peanut sauce into the wrap. So the taste was very bland.

Good Greens salad MISSING the chick peas. After they ALSO forgot the salad dressing on two BBQ Ranch salads.

The height of INCOMPETENCE!!!! How do you forget the salad dressings when SALAD is your main attraction? Complete idiots at this location. I had to drive back to the restaurant for my dressings only to return home and realize that they had ALSO FORGOTTEN the chick peas on my Good Greens salad!! Your menu is not that complicated and your job is not that difficult. Get it right the first time! You're not performing brain surgery. Ugh. So aggravating.

Smallest wrap ever

Looove the wraps but this time was disappointed in the size. It was al bread and lettuce.

Was supposed to be a jalepeno ranch wrap with extra chicken, this seems like some sort of mediterranean wrap with olives.

Giving two stars simply because we usually really like salad and go, this location has messed up our order 2x now though. Very disappointed. Paid for something we didnt even get on top of it.

Cobb salad with bleu cheese dressing

This is the best fast salad chain I've ever come across. My Cobb salad full of yummy fresh eggs and smothered in bleu cheese dressing was a great and healthy and inexpensive. Service was topnotch and fast. These guys got all the bases covered. They rule the fast to go salad world in Arizona.

Online ordering is easy

The bread on the sandwich was tough, the bacon bits were chewy, hard knots, and the sandwich was dry overall. The sweet potato fries were greasy and tough and not hot. Grilled chicken is an add-on, which I paid for, so that was frustrating. I got back in line to fix it. The remake came with no chicken and no blue cheese, but I'd already put dressing on the first one and could see where someone had picked the blue cheese out. Still no chicken either time. Today I tried the drive-thru. No one was taking orders at the speaker. After about five minutes I pulled up to the window and waited another five. Nobody came out or acknowledged me, so I left. I get why other Portillo's locations have lines around the block and this one doesn't. It feels mismanaged and like the staff just doesn't care. Shorter, review-site friendly version Two bad visits in a row at this Portillo's. 1. Ordered a chopped salad with grilled chicken, no blue cheese. Got blue cheese, no chicken. The remake had no blue cheese but still no chicken, and you could tell the cheese had been picked out of the original. 2. Drive-thru today: no one at the speaker for 5 minutes. I'm a bit of a ranch fanatic so can be pretty picky when it comes to the right quality and flavor. Their ranch here doesn't taste even remotely like ranch. I think it's the furthest from ranch you can get. Strange? I usually just get a salad but this visit I tried dip sandwich and it was completely unseasoned and the dip tasted like they dumped powder season into cold water and served it. I took a bite or two and tossed it out. The salad itself from the build it yourself salad bar was okay but again, couldn't use ranch because of how off and unpleasant it was so had to substitute for oil and vinegar only. The service is lacking. Everyone the last few visits seems like they are trying not to fall asleep and half robotic. Zero interest in interacting and blindsided if you ask any questions. The restaurant itself is super casual, which I don't mind especially for deli food.

When driving and saw there was a location here in Arizona, I told my coworker this is where we had to have lunch! Walking in, we were immediately greeted and this location is beautiful. We were seated and definitely feel like a clean, new location to join the Chandler, Ahwatukee, Phoenix area. Excited to dive in as I had such a great experience at the previous one. What We Ordered: - Coke + Lime: my good ole standby. Carbonation was just right, and the lime adds the perfect balance of sweetness of the Coca Cola. - San Antonio Tortilla Soup (not pictured): My coworker friend ordered as she is a creature of habit when she sees Chicken Tortilla Soup. She was so quick to try as it was recommended by the hostess who sat us. She'd be the judge of it! And the verdict... she really enjoyed it and said that could have easily been her lunch. - Steak Taco: my coworker said they were pretty good, and very filling as she needed a box to take away as the soup was so filling. - Steak Burger: when ordering, they mentioned due to fat content, this had to be well done. That should have been my indicator to order something else. When it came, I was quickly disappointed and wish I went with the regular burger for the same price point. It came with tomato, lettuce, pickle, and onion versus this one which was pretty plain. Between it being fairly lackluster with toppings, the temperature on the cook deterred me from enjoying. Overall, I wasn't impressed with my food and was also disappointed this location doesn't offer cheesecake like the one in Jacksonville did. Perhaps this was a seasonal item, and I hope that it becomes a staple on all J. Alexander's nationwide as that cheesecake was DIVINE. A miss for me in terms of this visit, but my coworker enjoyed her tortilla soup and tacos so I settled on a 4 Star. I'd return and try different items next time if in the area again for work.

Plus it didn't have that nostalgia vibe Tempe's location has. But, I was there for the food. I ordered my norm, which is a Chicago style hot dog along with some cheese fries. When my order was called, I picked it up and sat at a window side table. I tried French fry first and it was Luke warm and limp. I had to take it back and asked for crispier fries. They automatically upgraded my fries to large. The fries were just a little crispier and a little warmer, not hot. Weird! But the fries were tasty! Now my hot dog. It wasn't much warmer than my first batch of fries. Plus it didn't taste as good as the Tempe location. It was still good, but I think if the hot dog was hot it would have been better.
