Absolute Perfection at Over Easy! I had an incredible experience at the Over Easy in Tempe, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment the food hit the table, I was blown away. Every plate looked exactly like a TV commercial--beautifully presented and picture-perfect. Better yet, it tasted even better than it looked. The food was cooked to absolute perfection; honestly, I'm not sure it could have been any better. Sitting at the bar, I was looked after by David, who was an awesome and incredibly attentive server. He went above and beyond, even making sure to put the World Cup match on the TV for me while I ate. To top it all off, they offered me a to-go cup for my drink on the way out. When it's 110 degrees outside in Tempe, that kind of thoughtful hospitality makes all the difference. Five stars all around for the food, the service, and David. I will definitely be back! read more

REVISED: After being very unsure about returning, I have to say that this second trip was worth it. Right away I could see they were fully staffed and one of the servers opened the door and welcomed us in. The space is so bright and sunny. I love the cute style of the little diner lots of yellows to help you wake up. There is a bar area to sit inside at a big picture window overseeing the Novus Place structure and greenspace. There is a lot of outdoor seating for the nice weather months. They have a drink bar for special cocktail drinks and coffees. They had little league championships on the tvs. The menu doesn't have a lot of vegetarian choices listed but they do have many gluten free options. I special ordered my chiliquiles without chicken with no issues. The waitress even offered to check on the sauce to see if there were any animal based broths in the recipe. The dish was so flavorful topped with sour cream, and very fresh tomatoes and green onions in the salsa. The tortilla chips were perfectly done not soggy like they can get if not prepared carefully. I ordered my eggs scrambled and they were very cheesy and so delicious. I ordered a single pancake as pancakes are my favorite breakfast food. I can say it was perfectly fluffy and tasty and I am picky about my pancakes. My husband ordered a California Omelet he said it was absolutely delicious with very fresh vegetables. His exact words were this was night and day from the first time we came. I am so happy to say that we will definitely be returning, confidently bring out of state visitors, and recommend this cute diner to others. For locals I noticed they offer a day with 20% for students and faculty at ASU. I am very pleasantly surprised by the difference from the first experience. The management was very respectful and receptive. I appreciate it so much when a business can work to make things right. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast experience I really wanted to like this little brunch place in the Novus Plaza. As a vegetarian it is often hard to find good choices at a standard restaurant. Usually breakfast, brunch style is the best for me because I still eat dairy and eggs. I can't tell you how disappointed I was with the food. The menu was cute and had trendy food from their "As Seen on TV" menu from TV shows featuring certain recipes. I had high hopes as the reviews have been overall good. So after searching the menu for a good vegetarian choice I could only find pancakes and had to order my protein * scrambled eggs separately to fill out my meal. Saying the quality of my food was horrendous is an understatement. I haven't seen burnt pancakes since I was making them myself at 10 years old. Not only did they burn them but they served them to me that way. The cook obviously realized it because he put the worst burnt one on the bottom of the stack. I was so hungry so I tried to eat them but just couldn't yuck. . I enjoyed my scrambled eggs and watched my husband enjoy his bisuits and gravy which he said was decent. The server (singular) was so busy. He was running the bar area and the tables. Not totally his fault but he didn't get back to check on us until my husband had almost finished his entire meal and I still had burnt pancakes. He offered to get me something else but there was nothing else on the menu for me and the experience put me off of pancakes. The menu online looked like it had many more choices maybe the Tempe restaurant limited their menu, I'm not sure. I ended up getting a refund for my pancakes and going home hungry. What a great find! I was in town quickly for a wedding and needed to grab breakfast before a five hour flight home - and was so glad to see their spot near the PHX airport! I was in on a Monday morning, so there were very few other customers, but I bet it gets slammed on the weekends. I tried one of their speciality lattes with chocolate and almond milk - and it was delicious...and I am almost never an iced coffee girly. For food, I got the banana nut French toast which was good - but very very sweet with that caramel sauce. And then, to add a bit of health, had some chicken sausage on the side. Yum! I'm 6 months pregnant, and my needs may be different from yours, so this review is strictly based on my experience. My husband and I found this place online, and it looked like a great spot for brunch. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand, and it took quite a while for anyone to acknowledge us. When the hostess finally came over, we asked for a table for two. She immediately told us there was only outdoor seating available and didn't even mention that waiting for an indoor table was an option. Keep in mind, it was 110°F on a Sunday in Arizona. My husband had really been looking forward to trying this place, so we asked what was available and decided to stay. We were seated outside near the entrance. Shortly afterward, we watched the hostess tell other guests who arrived after us that indoor seating was available with only a 5-minute wait. Why wasn't that option offered to us? We absolutely would have waited. Unfortunately, the hostess's attitude and the way the situation was handled completely changed the experience for us. It left us feeling unwelcome, and we weren't able to enjoy our meal the way we had hoped. The food may have been fine, but customer service is a huge part of dining out, and this experience overshadowed everything else. Safe to say, we won't be returning. Went here on ASU vs. U of A gameday, coupled with an already limited parking situation, so it was absolutely packed, but the line moved quickly and the wait staff was impressively efficient. I've been to several Over Easy locations, and to their credit, the service food, cleanliness, and feel of the establishments are always consistent. For my meal I tried the Southwest Skillet, which I hadn't had before. It was good overall and the portions were very generous, though it leaned a bit heavy on the potatoes and could've used more chorizo and beans in my opinion. This place was good. I really loved the bright yellow, brunch-y ambiance inside. There is seating outdoors for when the weather is nicer. My friends and I came here for brunch, and didn't have a reservation (they don't take them). You can get on a list on their website though. It was busy when we arrived around 1120a on a Sunday. The parking situation was very rough. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that they will validate your parking, but you have to park in the Piedmont garage. When you arrive, you can tell the hostess your license plate number and you're good to go. Seth was our waiter and was very friendly and helpful! I ordered the protein bowl with scrambled eggs. It was pretty good, but I might try something else next time. If you live nearby/within walking distance, I would recommend this place, but if you have to park, perhaps consider something else. read more

This place would have gotten 5 stars but man the parking is a bit annoying. Don't park in the Novis lot because they won't validate the ticket for you. You have to park in the Piedmont lot, which is connected to the restaurant and park on the 2nd floor. Don't scan the QR code, when you get to the hostess, give her your plate number and you're validated. Just with the parking situation, I might not come back. But, I will say, the food, service, ambiance and company today was eggcellent!! I got a protein bowl just like my friends but I had the sunny side up eggs and waiter helped me to substitute the regular sausage for vegan sausage. My bowl was delicious with lots of veggies and I had enough for a second portion. I also had an over easy iced coffee and that was wonderful too. I had the condensed milk creamer on the side so that way I control the sweet level in my drink. I don't like super sugary drinks. The place is super bright inside and waiter Seth was spot on! By 11am today, the place was packed, so make sure to get on the waitlist on their website so you don't have to wait too long. They don't take reservations. And also seems the Yelp waitlist function disappeared in the app, but you can get on the waitlist via their website. This is almost as painful to write as it was to experience. Our experience had the biggest disconnect between pricing, reputation, and vibe I have ever experienced. (The pre-tax & tip was $127 for four adults and one 5-year old. The flow was atrocious. We were seated by a seater that was on their first day... who forgot (?) to assign our table to a server. We waited until the table seated after us received their meal to be met by our server. The server was monosyllabic, disconnected, and inattentive to our order, which had three daily large errors upon final arrival of our food. The food was brought by a runner and they had no idea what we ordered and we had to sort out who had what. Our server never returned until they presented the check. I will save you the pain of our dining. As for the food, it was good if the sign said Waffle House, but barely adequate for the price/made from scratch advertised. My burrito was dry, listless and the tortilla was gummy. The only meal greeted with excitement was the chocolate chip pancakes our 5-year old granddaughter ate, which she loved, and to our surprise she ate the entire plate! The flow of service was awful, the staff was disinterested (except the floor manager that came to ask how we were doing (sadly it was before the food arrived) and seemed genuinely interested. We were seated at 9:26am, server arrived at 9:47, and we left at 11:32am, and that was with zero dawdling as we waited, ate and left as quickly as the device would allow. This is my first F- I have given and I do it with a heavy heart, but after discussing it with my companions, I feel comfortable with this review. I cannot recommend this, and I I am not living in Arizona will not be able to return to see if that is usual or a one-off. But, given the price, and promises, I say give it a hard pass and try a local "greasy spoon" instead. read more

Met a friend here for breakfast. I had never been here before was not hard to get to but there's limited Street parking. There is a garage around the corner that you need to pay via the QRS code however if you tell the restaurant they will give you validated parking electronically so bring your license plate number with you. Our waitress was friendly knowledgeable and efficient. Really liked her. They have a nice selection of cocktails but we were still on the clock so only had coffee. The bread was a little hard - I like my French toast a little fluffier but it is just my personal preference. Service was great - the host and our waitress were kind and pleasant.
