The staff is knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful. I have nothing but praise for the medical care itself. However, trying to get a taxi out of this building is an absolute nightmare and deeply unorganized. While there is a direct phone line to request a cab, the system is entirely broken. All you get from the dispatchers is a vague acknowledgment that a car is on the way. You are left to wait and wait. Worse yet, even when you are finally assigned a specific cab number, there is zero order outside; other people will routinely jump ahead and take your designated taxi, forcing you to start the entire process over again. This chaotic, confusing setup is incredibly difficult and stressful for people who are ill, exhausted, or unfamiliar with the area. The medical staff deserves five stars, but Rush urgently needs to organize its passenger pickup system to protect its patients.

As the procedure was happening, he was sweating like crazy and looking and sounding terrified. This was a long and painful recovery. I was told I could not be given anything stronger than Advil/over the counter and made to feel like this was normal, yet my parts were the size of a large softball. Additionally, my medical insurance covers the procedure 100% but they said I didn't hit my deductible or out of pocket so had me pay. Months later I called my insurance company, and they confirmed that I should not have had to pay them anything so I had to call their office for a refund. I just received the refund.

Check-in is always a breeze, the nurses and assistants are always friendly, the overall feel of the place is professional and clean, and I've never had any billing issues. They're also patient and kind indulging my nerves when I'm getting blood drawn and getting vaccinated! I've seen a few doctors here and have always had great care. My primary care physician is Dr. Jessica Kennedy and I can't say enough positive things about her. She's knowledgeable, listens carefully to my concerns, and either has the answer or refers me to an excellent specialist. I'm also very happy with Dr. Mark Romanelli, a dermatologist who does annual skin exams and recommends great products to ensure healthy skin. I've also had positive experiences with the other doctors I've seen at this location, like Dr. Vasiloff, who I saw once at short notice when I wasn't feeling well. It's important to find a team that will help you stay healthy, I definitely recommend Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Romanelli, and this NW Physicians Group.

I've befriended a lot of the nursing staff and they always make sure to warmly greet me during my treatments and that I have everything I need. At the front information desk, I have sometimes felt dismissed or spoken to harshly when asking for directions or clarification, especially when I mentioned that I had visited before but needed reminders due to medical issues and medication-related brain fog. During some specialist visits, I felt that my responses were not fully acknowledged when I answered questions in ways that were unexpected. This left me concerned that parts of my medical information may not have been clearly reflected in my records. I have also struggled to get assistance from the Galter Life Center. Despite having a referral from my specialists, I have not been able to schedule an appointment or receive clear guidance through in-person visits, phone calls, or email. Additionally, I have attempted to contact Patient Experience and Advocacy several times but have not received responses to my calls or messages. When the system moved to NorthShoreConnect, I hoped communication would improve, but many of my messages there have also gone unanswered. Because of these experiences, I personally feel that my concerns have not been addressed adequately, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when seeking care.

Make sure you get your parking validated. -"Sky Lobby" (waiting room on 7th floor) has a nice view, but prepare to be ignored by the rude and lazy desk staff. Also be warned that it's hot and stuffy. Everywhere. -Pharmacy: Everyone at this place calls it "DCAM". Helpful to know ahead of time. Note* You will more than likely be going back & forth to this pharmacy multiple times to wait in line because their staff & doctors do not communicate well. It's down on the 1st floor; a long a trek from the super slow elevators banks behind a stairwell in the noisy lobby where sometimes there's a person playing music and it echoes terribly. - Picking up a patient from surgery is confusing. Getting from the parking lot to the pick up spot which is tight lane of gridlocked drivers. Hard to see any street signs so unless you know the name of every building on the campus have fun. Patient Beware! UChicago REQUIRES everyone to sign a contract for any care will be given. I observe…read morethat most people don't bother to read what they are signing. They may be sorry later. UChicago receptionists routinely lie to the patients, (something like UChicago needs it to bill your insurance or for privacy). If you request a copy of what you are about to sign, you will see that it is 17 pages of legal contract allowing them to charge you, process bills for collections, including legal fees, and distribute your personal confidential information to just about anyone you can imagine (without any limitations). I find it difficult to imagine the government or American Medical Association allow doctors and hospitals to coerce patients needing care. No wonder it is so easy for criminals to steal someone's identity.

The building was confusing to navigate, parking was unclear, and there was a line at reception when I arrived. By the time I was finally able to sit down at the reception desk, I was two minutes late. Despite that, the doctor refused to see me and told me I would have to reschedule. I understand offices need policies, and I respect that appointment schedules matter. But for a first-time patient dealing with an unfamiliar building, unclear parking, and a backed-up reception area, refusing care over two minutes felt unreasonable and dismissive. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no effort to account for the circumstances. This was a very frustrating and disappointing first impression, and it left me feeling like patient experience was not a priority here.
