Very nice right-sized patch of field to pick strawberries! Very conveniently located near Kempsville and Chesapeake radius. Had my daughter's best friend visit for the weekend. We were at a Farmers market when she said she's sad she missed strawberry picking season. I said what!!!!??? Maybe where Northern Virginians have few and very very far away farms to go to! Berries were plentiful, staff is friendly. Strawberries were of good size!

Salem Berry Farm is located in the Salem neighborhood. This farm is seasonal, so please check the opening times. It's very family friendly. The day I went was when it wasn't hot. That's why it was a bit crowded. They also sell jams there.

When you're begging to go strawberry picking & the day finally arrives! Love this location (about ten minutes from town center) for a quick picking and it is immediately on the side of the road. Not much hospitality from the employee, but we already knew what we were coming there to do. $8 for a small bucket & $15 for the one pictured. That was it! You were free to pick. About 15+ rows. Would suggest rain boots if you visit after a storm towards the end of the rows. Much fun and picked a lot of cute strawberries. They also have so products for sale at the stand like jams + a couple other goodies. (600th review!)

My family and I have been picking strawberries at Salem Berry Farm for the past 5 years. This little neighborhood farm never disappoints. We find the best strawberries here. The price is so affordable. I don't recall if they started nothing this in 2021 but they do not weigh the basket. They charge per the size of the basket. We even get really nice pictures here with the trees in the background. I really do love this field out of all the fields I have been to in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Here are some pictures of my over the past few years of picking here. For logistics. Parking is easy, you turn right on the farm and park in front of the field. You can see it from the road. There is one little red hut right when you enter. That is where you will pay for your baskets and strawberries. They are active on their Facebook page so they will post when their fields are open or closed. Have fun picking!

Truly a "little slice of heaven" this is a smaller patched area but they are packed full of berries! This was such a great activity to do with the kids on a random day! The white basket was about $15 but again you get to fill it up. We came pretty late but they let us stay truly until they simply HAD to leave which was so nice. It's a cute family owned area that I am so excited to revisit. The washing process of course was in depth but they were so great on pancakes the next morning.

We have lived in Virginia Beach for almost 6 years and have seen this berry farm for the past 5. Every year we kept saying we would go...well today we finally went! The best part about this place is its location. It is a stones throw from the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. The farm/berry patch is small but packed full of plants. The day we went the price was $1.85/lb. If you bring your own berry basket make sure you have it weighed before you go picking. If you don't have any baskets no sweat...they have some on site. https://www.facebook.com/SalemBerryFarm Open daily 8am - 6pm weather permitting

So in love with this place! OMG it's been forever and a day... I have been meaning to write this…read morereview since October 2017. Welp - Happy December! I cannot go another day without reviewing this place - magnificent!! I'd always see Facebook postings about their Harvest Event and wondered...is this for real? They offer a long list of features for a small fee in comparison to other places going on in the area... they claim to offer the same thing. But Taylor's prices were unbelievable. Well this year, my suspense was at ease... what they said they offered THEY DID AND MORE! For three children (pre-teens) and one adult, the cost was under $30 and it was well worth every dollar. I am already looking forward to returning next year during the Harvest season. I met a visitor at the farm and she began to rave about how the farm spruces up the event year after year... it was her third year attending. But this was my first time and I was blown away in a great way! We all were able to pick out any pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and the farm supplied items for pumpkin decorating. Pumpkins ranged in sizes but the cost was included in admission - ahmazing!! I met a few workers at the farm and their enthusiasm was evident. I could really tell they enjoyed their job. One lady - it was her first year working at the farm and she had all great things to say. I also met a volunteer at the front and because of her love for the farm life itself...she's now working there. I just felt super warm and over the moon! I think I had more fun than the girls. OMG - pony rides too! Bounce houses! Concessions! Parking was a breeze too! And the hayride, super duper awesome! This review is all over the place, but that's how overwhelming this event was - it was so much to see and enjoy all in a day. We actually picked a great day to visit too - it was not crowded at all and the weather was beautiful! We visited on the last Saturday before the closing date. And I was told Saturdays prior the farm is usually crowded. I am not sure why anyone had less than a five star experience here. But from start to finish our time here was one to remember forever! We will definitely return. Have fun and enjoy life ;)

Each ticket gave you a free small pumpkin, hayride, face painting, and bounce house admission. Our son had a blast! Everyone was super nice. They even had a section where you could paint and decorate your pumpkin. Great experience!

When we arrived it was a lot of people there. They have cows, a playground, picnic tables, a hay ride (seasonal), a corn maze, apple and different fruit picking, a pumpkin patch, farmers market, ice cream, and etc. They also have port-a-pottys on site. This was my first time and me and my family enjoyed ourselves. Even though it was a lot going on people wise we were able to get a picnic table and had lunch there. They had 2 food trucks out there also. The kids were having fun on the playground which is a decent size. The hay ride ends at 2pm so we missed that. But it looked fun. The market part isn't big. But they have huge brussel sprouts, tomatoes, different local honey, pies, apple cider, watermelon, frozen meat, and like 10-14 different types of apples. I seen apples I never knew existed. I'd love to have tried them all. Their apple cider is delicious. I got a quart and made apple cider floats, and they were so good!! Add a little cinnamon sugar and pumpkin spice and it taste like pie!! My daughter had an apple cider slushy with vanilla ice cream and she was hooked!! She went 4 days in a row!! Lol. The baked goods were different pies, cookies, muffin tops, and more. Everything was priced reasonably. The people there were friendly and everyone was just having a good time. I recommend taking a trip out here if you want a laid back fun time!! Check them out!! (Check their website for updates on hours, certain activities are seasonal) Also if you're in the area check out the dinosaur park down the street in front of the Military Aviation Museum. The park is small, but it's free and they have dinosaur statues you can take pics with.
