I found out they were going to be here so I planned to visit the Farmers Market. Locating the Farmers Market was not too hard. The area it is located in is so cute. Parking is hard. You have to park on the street which is tight! There is a small section of parking lot opened at the church, but, that fills up fast. Parking on the street is better than the lot. Be prepared to walk to and from your car. They had about 20-30 different places. You can get fresh produce, knifes sharpened, bath products... and DOUGHNUTS! It's a nice small farmers market.

Bodacious bakehouse have you covered for your freshly baked artisan bread needs, Cowboy Syd's got your neo-southern gourmet goodies (those of you who are Norfolk locals will know about Chef Meers and his famous restaurant career), meanwhile Cullipher Farm brings you locally grown fruits and veggies from Pungo Ridge. Three ships coffee roll up in their awesome coffee machine (don't know what I mean? You should be here then!) and Doughminion Donuts brings the treats for your sugary needs, soon to close their doors in Selden Market, but they'll be here right through til September. Then there's Fayton Farms artisan cheeses offering up some finely crafted small batch cheese from Mechanicsville but locally sourced milk, and Hampton Roads Winery coming through with the vino offering a taste of their wines for $1, and my personal favorite The Flower Lady, Robin Lindsey from Portsmouth along with her heeler pup Reno - bringing fresh free range chicken and duck eggs along with locally grown flowers. It's small, but there are plenty more vendors I've not named that should be checked out. The later in the day you get there the less there is on offer to buy, but it's definitely one to check out, just make sure you bring some dollars with you, it's not the cheapest - but all in the name of supporting small businesses right!? Love your locals!!

Had to stroll in here waste some time cause I had another appointment but I love this farmers market. I started coming here a year ago and I see it is grown tremendously. There is the donut truck is always out here and there's always a line and I see now that they're joined by a coffee spot who had a line as well. I can't stand in line in heat, even though I would love to try their donuts. I think I'm gonna have to make an effort to get up and be there when they first open when the line may not be as long but other than that, they have amazing things at this farmers market and I love it so.

I believe it was moved here from another location, but unsure. Parking is a bit tight, but they do have their own lot on the West side of the park. Other parking is off street, however be mindful to not block residential drives and walks. I really enjoyed the park layout of the market with its shady tree lined paths with vendors spread out nicely. If I had to guess it's on the smaller side to others markets in the 757. Likely around 35 vendors. I purchased a sourdough loaf from Top Knot and veggies from another. I browsed many others. The anchor seems to be Klassic Doughnut's with a tremendous following and rightfully so. The line was too long today with my late arrival to partake in a treat. Absolutely recommend checking them out. You can follow their social media handle on Instagram for vendor info.

The event included food trucks and a variety of vendors. My friend and I grabbed some BBQ from S&J Catering and it was delicious. We also grabbed donuts from Klassic Donuts and Glazed & Infuzed as well, which were very tasty. As we walked through the different shops, I absolutely loved all the fresh local, produce that was available. One of the shops offered a variety of jarred items and sauces so I purchased Crab Salsa and Spicy Pickled Okra. Both were very good and I definitely need to go back and get more! I absolute love supporting local businesses and I will definitely be returning very soon! Everyone was very nice and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

I was thrilled with the wide variety of stops and didn't leave until I had checked out every vendor. I wound up buying lavender black tea from Green Leaf Pebble Tea Spa, a bunch of gorgeous flowers from Studio Posy, and a bunch of broccolini (I didn't catch this vendor's name ). I could have chosen something at every stop! Everyone I spoke to was highly knowledgeable about their products and very friendly. The market is located at Blair Middle School and there are two city lots there on Spotswood with plenty of parking.

Offerings include art, produce, seafood, locally made food and packaged items (jam, popcorn, cheese), bread/pastries, food trucks, etc. Many of the vendors are also staples at other VA Beach farmers markets. -- TLC & Amenities -- The church graciously offers its parking lot as space for parking and the market, volunteers to direct traffic and help with setup/cleanup, its picnic table filled pavilion for KGFM guests to eat at, the restroom in its fellowship hall, and the playground out back of the church. All of these small courtesies add up to a wonderful family-friendly environment and event. -- Hours -- KGFM runs on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month from May through September from 4-7pm. -- Takeaways -- Local produce, local artists, great prices on seafood, and more offered in a well-spaced outdoor market allows for social distancing. With the inclusion of food trucks you can make a family dinner out of your shopping trip. Food truck prices are on par with others, which doesn't make for the most affordable dinner, but the offerings are excellent. KGFM is great option for families who want to frequently support local vendors!
