They charge me $40 to swap out one tire onto a rim that I had brought to them and they were very rude especially the fat guy I would never go back here again unless it was to slap the fat guy read more

Took my Mustang in to get a motor swapped out. Price quoted to get it done had doubled by the time job was done for no real reason, the receipt failed to explain. After completion I went to inspect their work, and found my hood latch release was ripped off the mount. When I got the hood open I had noticed the emblem from my engine had been ripped off, coincidentally the new AND old engines emblems were missing them. After questioning them, the workers and owner had made accusations about me having foul play. Called me a liar. They play dirty, have bad business practices, the owner is worthless, and the workers are little weasels. read more

Just had the first replacement tires put on after the FACTORY tires wore out. These butt monkeys took chips out of the wheels and had the nerve to say they refuse to fix what they Broke and blamed the factory for the damage. Don't trust these morons. read more

We had a nail in the tire on our RV and the spare was bad as well. We pulled in to Salem Tire less than an hour before closing. They took very good care of us and now we're safely back on the road again! The waiting room was nice and cool and the restrooms were clean. It's a garage, so don't expect them to serve Starbucks in the waiting room. We were very pleased with the caring and knowledgeable service and pricing. read more

Our daughter took her car in for its first set of new tires at their Effingham shop. She noticed a few days later all four wheels had scrapes all over them, some of them all the way up to the center. They told her that it was curb damage and they wouldn't do anything about it, but also threw in that some of it was damage from another shop's tire machine, which was odd, since it had the original tires on it when she took it to them. They expected me to believe that my 38 year old daughter curbed all four of her wheels in 12 days, left no scuff marks on the tires and left symmetrical tool marks all the way around all 4 wheels. The work was done at their Effingham Store. i contacted the main store in Salem and the manager was professional but stated they would leave the decision to the Effingham Manager. I went to the Effingham Store and was told it was impossible for their tire machine to do that, and that they believed she had curbed all 4 wheels. We had SEVERAL guys that have been in the tire business for as long as 30 years look at it, and they ALL said it was error on the part of the tire mechanic. Salem Tire will NOT make this right. I told the manager I would bad mouth that place to whoever would listen if they didn't make it right. At that point he got belligerent, raising his voice and pointing his finger at me. I knew then for sure that I was absolutely correct! The mental gymnastics they did trying to explain the damage away was breathtaking. Don't waste your time and money with these people. read more

Went in for an oil change and they broke the cap from the oil filter. They replaced it with a faulty one so I was losing oil all the way back home to Texas. When I spoke to the owner he said "you should take it to the dealership to make sure it's not something bigger". I had to come out of pocket since his inexperienced guys couldn't get the job done right. Turned out to be a super expensive oil change. I used to take my vehicles here when I lived in Illinois, but I wont go back again. Guess they changed and not for the better. I'd go somewhere else. A shop that wont stand behind their work even after they admit their mistake is no good. A 75 oil change ended up costing me an additional 145. No good. read more

We have a UHaul trailer, headed from Utah to DC. Had a blowout somewhere along I70 east of Effingham. These guys were GREAT! They were patient in helping us narrow down our location, arrived exactly when they said they would and were so helpful. They got us back on the road in no time and made a stressful situation so much better. If we were local, they would be my Go To tire guys! read more

We got towed in on an emergency from a tow company not related to them, they sold us 4 tires for our van. It turned out they did not have them in stock. We ended up having to sit there for 4 hours waiting to have them installed. When we finally left, our van was shaking so bad we thought it was going to fall apart on the highway. We had to have the tires rebalanced when we got where we were going. They would not stand behind their work either. So we originally paid them to do it and then had to pay again for another shop to do it again. I would not waste my time or money going to this place. read more

Called for a slow leak on a tractor tire. They replaced it instead. When I asked the tech why? He said that was the order. Called the main office was told they would remove the new tire put on the old tire and fix it. Received a call from the tech who was obviously upset and said your tire is fixed. Went to haul the tractor to another location and before arriving was flat again. Again called the main office and was told they would be out the next day to fix it. At the end of the next day I received a call and was told they were not going to make it and would be out first thing in the morning. At noon the next day called to check on the progress. I was told they decided they did not have time to come out. Called a 2nd tire repair shop that was out within the hour. During the repair process it was obvious that Salem Tire "fixed" it with a used tube. It had been damaged in two spots during seating of the tire. I am attempting to dispute the charges to my credit card. I would not let them fix the flat on my grandsons tricycle. read more

While travelling on I-70 North of Salem, we hit something in the road and punctured a tire. Fortunately we have "run flats" and were able to limp to Salem Tire Center to get it fixed. You never know how a business will treat someone from out of the area and were not going to be surprised with a rather costly new tire, but they were able to patch the hole and get us going for $20! We really appreciated their honesty and integrity. read more
