Dear Service Manager,…read more I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the service I received from the service department at Monken's Automotive. I brought my vehicle in for repair on March 20th because it was having issues shifting properly and struggling to accelerate. My father is currently on hospice, so having reliable transportation is extremely important for me right now so that I can travel to see him during this difficult time. Last week I received a call from your service department informing me that my vehicle was finished and ready for pickup. However, the moment I put the vehicle in drive, it immediately began jerking, struggling to move, and failing to shift correctly -- the exact same issue I originally brought it in to have repaired. I immediately returned to the service department and asked if anyone had actually test-driven my vehicle before calling me to pick it up. Ethan informed me that the vehicle did not have enough gas for a test drive. However, the vehicle still had approximately 40 miles of fuel remaining. Regardless, anyone moving the car from the service area to the parking lot should have been able to recognize that the transmission was not shifting properly. Despite the repair not resolving the issue, I was still charged $900. As of today, I am still without a properly functioning vehicle during an extremely difficult time in my life when I need it most. This situation is unacceptable. I trusted your service department to properly diagnose and repair my vehicle. Instead, I was charged a significant amount of money and given back a vehicle with the same unresolved problem. I am respectfully requesting that management review this situation immediately and provide a resolution. At this point, I believe it is reasonable to request either a proper repair at no additional cost or reimbursement for the $900 charge, given that the original issue was not resolved. I would appreciate someone contacting me as soon as possible to discuss how this situation will be corrected. Sincerely, Angelica Garcia

Stayed in communication, never pressured me into a sale and was very transparent. Just a really personable guy that wants to see you get into the right vehicle. It can be an intimidating and overwhelming process to purchase a new vehicles these days and I walked out of several larger dealerships in the area before I found JJ and the entire Monken staff. I can't recommend them enough. JJ, CJ, and Bob were all absolutely fantastic!

My name is Chris, I was recently sold a lemon car a 2020 jeep wrangler Rubicon of March 31 2026…read more This car is not even 30 days old, I've been dumping coolant in the engine everyday non stop, I had a check engine light come on the dash. So, I decided to go get it checked out. I took it to holzhauer and had them check the problem, they told me that they wasn't going to do anything about it cause "it's a used vehicle you know what you got." This place doesn't do anything to help a person when they know about a cars problem. Cause im pretty sure a dealership wouldn't just buy a car off of trade-in without knowing what's wrong with it. I haven't even made my first payment yet and they will not do anything for me. I'm writing this hoping a person will see this that is interested in a new vehicle and just save their money and not deal with this place! All my money that I saved up for a down payment on a car is literally gone, and now I can't even use my 20 day old vehicle. So please, if you read this and show interest, take your money elsewhere to save you the trouble. If I could give this place zero stars then I would!

I live 725 miles away and have never visited or set foot in this dealership, but I was seriously interested in the trailer and even provided my credit card information for a $500 deposit to show good faith. After thinking it over, I decided not to purchase the trailer because I was concerned about my ability to safely get in and out of it. I am a disabled veteran with a severe spinal cord injury, so accessibility is extremely important for me. When I informed Nic that I needed to cancel the purchase, he told me that I would not be getting my deposit back -- even though I never visited the dealership, signed a purchase agreement, buyer's order, deposit agreement, or any document stating the deposit was non-refundable. There was also no discussion whatsoever about the refund policy of the deposit in the event I decided not to proceed with the purchase. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Keeping any person's deposit with no signed documents and no disclosure of a refund policy is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this dealership based on how this situation was handled. I have also registered formal complaints with the following: * Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division * Federal Trade Commission (FTC) * Better Business Bureau I would be happy to update my review if and when the dealership refunds my deposit.

The…read moreright rear tire has a scuff mark on the side wall that was there when the vehicle was dropped off (the other 3 do not have scuff marks). Kyle called and told me the service was completed, but that I also needed a 4 wheel drive service to swap out the fluids and that would be an additional $580 dollars, I declined the service. I looked at the maintenance schedule that came with the truck when I bought it new it does not show that service until 97,500 miles, I am at 62,000 miles. (The same service was offered and declined at the previous service.) The chart on Greg and Kyle's desks that the dealership is using to show when the services are due appears to be the severe driving conditions chart. I feel like they are pushing services that are not yet due and just assuming the severe conditions apply to all. When I picked up the vehicle on 2/13/25 the tire with the scuff mark was still on the right rear, but I was still charged for the tire rotation that obviously was not done. I called and talked to Kyle who I had done the drop off and pick up with, he said he would check with the tech and call me back. Kyle called back and said according to the tech they were rotated, he said his manager was out but he would have him call me back on Monday 2/17/25. Mark called on 2/17/25 and informed me that he was aware of the situation and had talked to the tech, and the shop steward and they both said the tires were rotated, and he would have to stand behind his guys. He said he did not want to lose me as a customer so he offered to give me a refund on the tire rotation. I told him I did not think the refund would repair the trust that had been lost. Mark said he hoped I would continue to do business with them. He said he would dig into it, I said I would wait to hear back from him. 2/18/25 I called Mark and he said there was nothing else to dig into, he stands behind his crew 110 percent, but he would have the office issue a refund and have it mailed to my address. I asked how is it possible to rotate the tires and have the same tire still on the right rear. He said he could not explain it. I told him you can't fix a problem that you won't admit. I said I don't think I will be doing business there in the future. He said that was my choice, but I am the one walking away. I told him I don't feel I can trust Steve Schmitt for my needs any more. He said he could not believe I would throw away a six year relationship over a tire rotation. I also asked Mark the service manager how is it possible to rotate the tires without removing any of the dust from the lug nuts or wheels. Again he had no answer. He did ask me if I had checked the inside of all the tires to see if the scuff had been turned to face inward. I asked him when do they ever remove the tires from the rims and then rebalance them during a tire rotation. Oh yes and they are raised white letter tires, the lettering is only ever on one side of the tire and they are all still facing out. We also vaguely discussed my extended warrantee that will still be good until October of 2025, and Mark informed me it depends on which extended warrantee I purchased, but it may or may not be good at other GM dealerships. Another thing for me to wonder about in the trust area. So I am left waiting for a $30 check, and a set of tires that still need to be rotated, and the need to find a new place to take my vehicle for the rotation and any future services. It really is a shame that all of this happened (I wonder if it happened before and I just trusted them and never really checked for six plus years). I honestly bragged all the time out at the base on how well I was treated, and that I get a free loaner every time I take my truck in for service. But now I will have a different story to tell of how the Steve Schmitt dealership should not be trusted. This is so frustrating.

Chinese & Japanese made junk parts sold at a fantastic markup. My complaint air bag replacement: GM dealers will replace any worn, damaged connections at no charge!! NOT AT STEVE SCHMITT. They charge $165.00 per man hour to do a diagnosis. They blame the high cost of their UNION LABOR. Mechanics are paid about $20.00 per hour and made to furnish their own tools. Schmitt's chief of mechanic's is so dumb he cannot tell me what is wrong with my dash lighting up and showing " check air bag soon". They will try pouring a bucket full of shit over your head and you the customer is supposed to like it!! Then tell you they would like your continued business. In the search for the "Perfect" car I ended up exchanging calls, emails, and texts with nearly 20 dealerships from Florida to Colorado. I feel very fortunate that my search landed me with not just a return call, text, or email... but a return VIDEO directly from Randy with a walk around of the exact Expedition we were looking for and a demo of some of its cool features as well as his contact information to follow up with. Well, not only did Randy have the exact car we wanted at the best price I found after getting many dealer offers... they got me 0% financing and he delivered the car to me on a Sunday with a smile!!! The entire sales process with Randy and Auffenberg Ford was fantastic. If you are the kind of person that usually gets anxiety from the whole car buying experience, do yourself a huge favor and give Randy at Auffenberg a car. He's the guy that you would feel confident to send your mom to if she needed a car. Thank you Randy and team for everything and I may have to give you a call about a Bronco next year. ;)
