We were very grateful that Salida Dental was able to cater to our emergency need, and started the treatment on the same day. Dr. Ota patiently explained the pros and cons to us and had the staff called to obtain the costs for the different treatment plans. This helped us decide on the best option for treatment. Since the oral surgeon was on duty that day, Dr. Ota immediately consulted with the surgeon to ensure that the treatment could start right away. We were so appreciative of their concerted effort because no time was wasted. As usual, Dr. Ota and her staff always put their customers first and treated them with care and respect. I was hesitant to change dentists because I had my previous one for over 10 years. I moved so it would be more convenient to stay local. I am glad I made the change! I wish I would have done it sooner! The staff at Salida family dental is very friendly and quick. My daughter was seen for the first time today and staff was very friendly. Misinformative and deceitful during scheduling, I was told that my exam and cleaning would be done the same day and that is the only reason I scheduled this appointment. Upon arrival I was immediately asked to pay an exam fee before I had even filled in my paperwork, before paying the exam fee I tried to confirm that I would be getting a cleaning as well during this visit and was told that it depends on what they see during my exam. So instead of being upfront during the scheduling process and telling me that I might be able to get a cleaning the same day I was told that's the only way they do it, then upon arrival to my appointment that I took a day off work for I was told different that the same day cleaning is completely dependent on what the exam shows. After telling them to go ahead and cancel the appointment I was told I would still have to pay a $10 fee for visiting the office today... haha ya right. This place is so scammy.... I guess I still with Dr. Mesbah in Modesto, amazing dentist, always do what they say I just made a mistake trying to experiment with someone closer to home. read more

Came here, no one greeted me when I walked in Sign In at the front desk. Whats up with dental offices and the ocean theme? I hate going to the dentist with a firey passion. Dr was really nice, I waited a long time in the scary chair. I had a root canal done. Mouth wide open while they are going to work I felt a tickle running down my throat. Not even realizing, I gagged and almost sat up. Dr says "try not to jerk like that or the tools will cut your mouth". If the stupid assistant knew where to suck with that spit sucker thingy, I wouldnt have had this problem in the first place. She had it placed in front of my teeth while they were doing work in the back? Gee thats where all the spit and water is going...to the front of my teeth while I'm laying down? Common sense. Found out later that she was new. Go figure. Bummer that my insurance doesnt cover for my original dentist. For those looking for a dental office AVOID Salida Dental. Not sure what changed since I first went a few years ago but TWICE during procedures (once a cleaning, the other a root canal) my daughter's gums were drilled/ripped/scrapped to bleeding and was told to "put ice on that." After complaining to the staff about another local office's billing procedures and after I verified they had my correct insurance information for our primary insurance (we have two policies), they billed the wrong insurance. When I corrected them they assured me they would bill the correct one. I scheduled an appt for an ortho consult for my son and after 4 weeks of waiting for the appointment, they took him into back. When they came out they informed me it was only a cleaning and they would request the authorization. Three weeks later, I find out from the insurance company, they sent it to the WRONG insurance again. This time I called the insurance company who called Salida Dental (with me on the phone) and they assured them they would resubmit to the correct insurance. Now 6 weeks later, I called the insurance company and find out they NEVER resubmitted it!!!! The service here was very good and I was very impressed when I first switched to this dental office both from the doctors and front office. At the appointment with my son I over heard them admit that someone in their office gave a client the wrong address, then tell him that if he couldn't make it to the right office within 15 min of his appointment time, in spite of the fact that it was their error, he would have to reschedule. Afterward, they continued (in front of me and others in the waiting room) to laugh about this man's predicament. Never recommend this dentist to children with disabilities I was referred by some professionals to call this place due to my 18 year old having a disability in wheel chair. My mother was treated there for root canal yesterday by Dr. June Chang. She was asked to pay $1400 for treatment which she agreed and had paid. When she was at the treatment chair, after topical anesthesia had been applied and they were ready to start the treatment, the doctor said she had to clean more and she will have to pay $100 more. What can a patient do at such point? Walk away after paying and not getting treatment done. It was so unprofessional, that my father who is always a calm person even got upset. They take advantage of seniors and people who have English as their second language, who can not argue back. I will discourage any one to go to this clinic. They charged her extra $100 and my parents came home feeling totally cheated. The worst experience ever. Please stay away from this clinic. read more

My kids have been seeing this dentist for a while. Everything seemed ok, then one of my children had a filling fall out. They replaced it, but had they done the work correctly in the first place, it should not have come out. Since my children were seeing this dentist, I had a broken tooth and went there as well (before my child's filling fell out). They filled the tooth for me, then about a month later, the tooth they filled started hurting. So I went back and they said I now need a root canal. Hmmm....wonder why!! They wanted me to pay $1700 for the root canal that THEY caused! Sounds like they're making a bit of "job security" for themselves. Needless to say, I, nor my children have been back there since. I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

After four visits, and a different dentist at all of them, I switched my dentist immediately following my most recent experience. On my last visit I waited 1.5 hours for a cleaning, only to have the cleaning tools negligently slipping down my throat from the poor assistance. The day after this cleaning I came down with a throat infection that lasted over a week. From the receptionists in the front texting on their phones while sipping energy drinks to the rough cleanings, this place needs some reorganization. I have had two cavities filled at this location, with the second one being a re-do of the first one done incorrectly, and paid more for the second than the first. They found a cavity on my most recent experience and quoted me $30 higher than the cavity I had filled last...only to send me a letter in the mail two weeks later letting me know that they misquoted the price. To me it appears to be bad business across the board. read more

First let me say that if I could give 0 stars I would! This was the only dental office we could see under our insurance. You get what you pay for. I tried to save a few dollars each month on the insurance and it came back and bit me!!! My husband had to have a crown done. So we made him an appointment and he went in and had the work done. First...they told him that since he had insurance they just give him a discounted rate. We paid $550 for our portion of the crown. I paid in two installments by check. That is a whole other issue too!! Since the work my husband switched companies and we have new insurance that allowed us to go back to our old dentist that we love. When my husband went in yesterday for a cleaning and check up he was told he would need a crown done on that tooth. When he told the dentist that the crown that was on it was just done a couple of months ago the dentist told him the work was done poorly. We have pictures of the x-rays they took and now I need to start the struggle of dealing with this place. It is always difficult to get someone on the phone and they never really seem to know how to answer any questions. We have decided that we do not want them to touch my husbands tooth again and we are going to have our regular dentist re do the work...but you know what that means...we are going to have to pay for it.
