Was there Saturday 7/18 before 6pm. The manager on duty was rude and condescending from the moment I came in the door. I felt so disrespected and discriminated against because of my appearance and my broken foot. The manager immediately laughed at me and called me "hob-a-long" after saying "welcome to your new Sally's!" I just made my way to dye wall to pick my color as she continued to ask me questions asking if I want more green dye cause it was obvious I was covering up green with brown. I said "no, I'm just getting a root color thanks" and my partner that was with me and witnessed all of this, told me when we left she made a face toward the new hire she was training. Then she said to the new hire "have you heard of Brad Mondo?" She said no, the manager then said "he makes videos of people doing their hair themselves and messing it up. It's very funny but sometimes you'd be surprised!" The new hire employee nervously laughed at just about every remark the manager made. We then overheard her teaching some things on the POS system and talked to the new hire as if she was unintelligent. Then a group of girls came in, she greeted them with the same "welcome to your new Sally's" and proceeded to talk to them FAR differently than me or the new hire, talking about nail glue trends online. The store is also not accessible for people with disabilities or injuries. Too many display stations in the way of very narrow walkways I could barely get through on crutches with a broken foot. I made my way to the back of the store for hair care, then at the register had to correct her on the sale of the Sauce brand after she told me to go grab another product from the wall. She just didn't act professional at all. She seemed like a 16 year old girl and a bully although she was a grown woman in her 40's. I've worked in retail most of my adolescent & adult life as well as the service industry for nearly 15 years. I am truly upset by this experience and it is why I choose to travel to another area and go to the Donelson store. The staff is incredible at the Donelson location and has never made me feel uncomfortable. read more
