I find your store to be the most unfriendly. I had gone in Sat. 9/9 to buy Madison hair color. I knew I had seen an email for $10 off for purchase over $50, but the girl at the register would not help me find the coupon and all I was able to find is a $3.50 off coupon which she told me that's all there is. Well, I get back home and see the coupon and others to use. Coupons are to help those that shop at Ulta, but for the staff not to help you by informing customers of coupons is just wrong! Picture this: mom of a 3 year old and an infant. "I'll treat myself with an Ulta curbside pick up order" I should have known this would not be a treat. I click '10 minutes away' on the email and head to Ulta. I click 'here' when I arrive. Baby is sleeping, 3 year old is entertaining himself. I'm out of the house and excited for my treat. 20 minutes have gone by since I clicked 'here'. I called and the guy who answered asked me to say my name multiple times like it wasn't on their curbside orders list. He said he had the order and hung up. I wait 10 more minutes. Luckily the baby is still sleeping. The 3 year old is out of his car seat and going through every compartment in the car. My 'treat' is becoming less of a treat. I call again and ask for the manager, hoping I can figure out why I've had to wait so long. The manager was full of excuses. Blaming everyone else on her team. I don't need an excuse, I need to leave before my baby wakes up screaming and before my toddler starts eating the old goldfish under my seat. She said she didn't have my number to call me back to let me know what was going on. Lady, I'm sitting outside in curbside pickup. Turns out the order was lost. Someone with basic customer service skills could have made this a pleasant experience. Not only was I met with excuses from the manager, but she even said she didn't have the time to handle it. She ended up coming to my car 35 minutes after I arrived and gave me a fragrance sample for my inconvenience and continued giving me excuses for why it was the fault of her employees and not her. She could have handled this without throwing her team under the bus and could have kept me as a customer. Next time I'll go next door to Sephora. one day this store is going to close and Ulta Corporate is going to say the competition and online shopping sites drove them to close their brick and mortar. Not true! This store used to be exceptional with makeup and hair services and friendly helpful staff. Now, it's staffed with young untrained personnel who are underpaid and leave after just a few weeks. Morale is awful; no one seems happy to be there. The salon is terribly understaffed, rarely anyone at the brow bar. it's just sad that management doesn't seem to have a clue. One young girl who was doing blowouts for me a year ago left after my third visit, telling me she just wasn't making enough money to live on. She was exceptional at her job. Every single time I place a pickup order and check in for curbside and I come to pick it up during normal hours, they never bring it out. I either have to go in to pick it up (which defeats the curbside purpose) or have to call them to ask why it's taking so long (15+ minutes!) It's fine if you're not going to offer curbside but if you are, then actually honor it. read more

Poorly lit store with displays that looked like a two-year old dug their fingers through everything. Aw surfaces were dirty & desperate need of restocking. Two staffers were phenomenal. They guided me to products & made suggestions. When I selected a product I asked another male staffer, "is there a mirror available?" (I wanted to hold product near my hair to see if it was a decent match). He responded with, "Gurrrl NO! We can't have customers all up In here touching things and pulling down their masks!!! Ewe.(awkward pause)... I guess you can hide somewhere in the store and check...". Unprofessional. Lacking training to deal with inquiries such as mine. I'm 46, and "Ma'am" is most appropriate. Had my hair colored and cut by Dawn. There was a wait time of approximately 5 whole minutes. Dawn was personable and professional. Since I'm not big on perfection or expectations, I basically said, I want my hair reddish, don't cut too much length and do what you want. She made suggestions, we agreed and moved forward. I loved my hair. The aesthetician (I forgot her name- she was an adorable blonde with tattoos) on duty came by to talk and I made an appt with her right after the style. That was amazing too. There was no pressure to buy or add products or services. I truly enjoyed my experience and will come again. I will add this though- the front register cashier was not to keen on helping me when I asked if I can tip them both (rather than 1) on the same ticket or use my points. She figured out the tipping part but not the points part. read more

Extremely disappointed. I'm still in the beginning stages of learning make up products and how to properly use them. I had a friend recommend the Ulta beauty brand cat eye stamp and was really looking forward to getting it and hearing some tips from the associates about how to use it as well as what products pair well with it for the look I was desiring. I showed the associate who was sitting on the floor stocking a shelf a picture of it and asked for help finding it. She pointed to the wall and said the Ulta beauty products were on that wall and I said I wasn't seeing it. She just said "uh" and didn't offer any help or get up or show me anything or offer any assistance other than pointing to a wall. After about 20 minutes of wandering a section aimlessly I finally found it in a package with other things and unfortunately settled with buying that since no associates were helpful. I didn't get any of the other products I was hoping to because there was no one to help me with direction or recommendations. This was such a different experience from Sephora stores. I arrived 15 minutes early for a haircut w/ style and all over highlights. This was my 1st trip to Ultabeauty and I was excited. I only have my hair done every 6 months since it's so expensive. I arrived with naturally curly hair that reached my bra strap in the back. I was left alone several times ( more than 3) for my stylist to answer the salon phone and once for an extended personal call. It was like i had arrived at Great Clips or some other walk-in salon. It took over 3 hours and 20 minutes for my services because of this delay, along with 20 minutes for her trying to get the color right with toner. 2 different tries. I needed to leave for a movie, but told her not to skimp on my hair because of this. I expressed this twice. First thing that alarmed me was her saying she was only going to cut 2 inches ( since i told her i wanted to keep it long), but with her contined "trimming" which I thought was "shaping" ended up to be more like 4 inches once i really put my hands through it. I entered the salon with the length at my bra strap and now it is barely below my shoulders. This made me really really sad to say the least. It's like she had never been educated that curly hair shrinks when it dries. (????!!!!) Her skills contined to shine (sarcasm) ....To start the "style" she began blow drying my hair on high power and heat without a diffuser and proceeded just to straighten the front with a round brush, and scrunching the back. Let me tell you. That's not a good look. She asked why I kept putting my fingers through it, and I told her I didn't like it fuzzy. However, she didn't do anything about this, she just jumped into scheduling me again in 3 months. I wanted to sit there and demand she do things over, correctly, but at that point and time, I had been there over 3 hours and 20 minutes, and with a movie previously scheduled with my family at 4pm and being in pain sitting there for so long (putting off another back surgery) it just wasn't an option. I literally wanted to cry when I got the $210.00 request for payment. I got out my debit card to pay at their register, but was told I couldn't pay at the salon, I had to pay up front. Up front was a line of 15 people waiting to check out. This was the cherry on top because there was only 2 sales associates working to check these (now 16) people out, while I counted 7 sales associates just lazily walking through the store with a tool belt full of makeup brushes asking through their nose if they could help you. Too many ridiculous things happening in a row for me to ever return to this joke of a salon. I'm spreading the word so no one I know goes in to pay hundreds of dollars to stylists who act like they've never worked with anything but straight hair, and have all their hair unexpectedly chopped off that they've been working so hard to grow. 1 star is too good for this place. I love TARTE, but haven't used their products in a while. She walked me through a couple of different products that I had questions about and made me feel not only comfortable, but beautiful as well. He was fabulous, he helped me for 30 minutes, trying on different lipsticks, he never got frustrated with me, he was kind and helpful and just really pleasant to deal with. On July 22 a post was made to the Ulta Beauty Hendersonville Facebook page advertising a back-to-school makeup class for girls. The class was to be with Chloe on August 5th, from 6-7pm. I knew it would be something my daughter would thoroughly enjoy, and I wanted to make her back-to-school experience extra special this year. I called that day to get her scheduled. I should have known something was amiss when i had to speak with three different people before anyone even knew what I was talking about. Finally I spoke to a gentleman named Robert who seemed familiar with the class. He took my daughter's information and assured me she had a spot in the class. Tonight we drove 45 minutes to Ulta for the class. We arrived a few minutes early, and went to the counter to check in. When I told the lady we were there for the class, she looked confused. So I pulled up the post on their Facebook page and showed her. She stated that it was odd because Chloe wasn't even there tonight. She was apologetic and offered us a private lesson with another lady who had an open spot at 6:15. She also indicated they would "do a little something extra" for our inconvenience, though she didn't specify what that was. My daughter had been looking forward to this class since I told her I had signed her up, and not wanting to disappoint her, I took the 6:15 appointment. It was 6:21 when we were called back; not a big deal. However, the lady was there alone, obviously overwhelmed, and was answering the phone and scheduling appointments while we continued to wait. Then she had to go gather makeup from throughout the store before she could begin. She was very polite and kind to my daughter, and she did a nice job on her makeup. However, we were only with her for roughly 35 minutes. So I was quite surprised when the ticket she printed showed a charge of $60 for one hour. To be clear, I do not mind paying for someone's time if we actually used the time, but I prefer not to pay for time we did not receive. I approached the girl at the front desk and told her what had happened. She seemed unconcerned, and then asked to see the "flyer" from their page, so I pulled up their Facebook page and showed her the post that was STILL THERE, and very clearly stated the date and time. We had shown up for an event they still had posted, with nothing indicating it had been canceled. She called her manager, and I once again explained what had happened. I let her know that I didn't mind to pay for the service if I had gotten the full amount of time, but being charged for an hour when we had gotten 35 minutes max did not seem fair. She was clearly unconcerned about the entire inconvenience of the matter, and didn't seem the least bit concerned about my daughter's disappointment over not getting to do the class we had specifically signed up for. The manager acted as though we were an inconvenience to her for having the audacity to suggest that perhaps we shouldn't have to pay for time we did not use. She agreed to reduce the fee to 30 minutes and left to get a new ticket. When she returned, she handed me the ticket and walked away. No apology, no "something extra" for my daughter, NOTHING. The worst part is that they didn't even own the mistake that was very clearly still on their Facebook page! Nor did they do anything to try and rectify the situation. They could have easily fixed this, but they truly could not have cared any less. Completely unprofessional and grossly incompetent. That's all that I can come up with to describe this place. Had my hair done by Tracey at their salon. Initially the cut didn't look too bad, though Tracey neglected to show me the back of my head to show me what she did. After I got home, I found out why she didn't show me because the cut was awful and uneven. She also didn't act too pleased that I declined any additional services, like their $30 conditioning treatment. She didn't spend a great deal of time on my hair, in fact I felt like it was rushed through. However, the worst part of the experience were the comments she kept making on my hair color because I happen to use coloring from a box. When I called to cancel my next appointment, she ended up hanging up on me. In general, the customer service at this store has never been that great.Their pricing is not competitive and is way too high on some of their products, which is why I don't shop there anymore. read more

I usually go to Ulta in Glenbrook shopping center in Hendersonville TN on Sunday afternoon. I love the products and displays. I always find employees gathered in the front of the store talking to each other. Obviously It's their social time and they're there to collect a paycheck. When you need to ask a question you feel intrusive. Attention Ulta management, you need to monitor your employees!! Shandi a cashier has a great attitude and very approachable and friendly. The customer may be getting the items to different people for a gift while using different transactions. Your manager however has a different attitude. It isn't really about the free gift. My first experience in Ulta was not good, I waited around for a long time without being helped even after asking for help. After taking to Twitter I was contacted by the store manager, Rachel, who invited me back and was very apologetic. She was able to color match me and give me some great tips on makeup application. Besides the first visit all of my experiences with Ulta have been great. The staff is attentive and helpful as well as knowledgeable, they will use a variety of brands to find what works for you and your skin tone. If you are looking to try different makeups and learn more about application Ulta is the place to go. Also, they have a salon and offer skin care services such as facials which are amazing. read more

To Ulta Cosmectic Manger and corporate mangers, I have been in the Hendersonville store several time and wasn't pleased with how the clerk treated me. They act like they don't want to wait on people of color. They can be doing nothing and act as if you aren't in the store and never ask if you need help. Today the clerk showed me where the product was and didn't offer to help nor explain someone would assist me as soon as possible. She acted as if she couldn't wait to get out of my present. When someone is busy they can be polite to the customer and explain this to them. She left with no explanation. This is why people go the Amazon because the representatives treat you like they've been well trained. I want enter you doors again and my recommendation will not be good. If your clerks can't be nice to all customers then you need to hire new clerks who care. The atmosphere in a store is very important to customers and will keep them coming back or harm your business..I noticed passing by and looking through the window you don't see people of color in the store and I can see why. People of color money spend like everyone else. I let this kind of treatment go on to long before reporting it. read more
