I purchased 2 items; one was ION haircolor, med "neutral" blonde shade turned my hair dark charcoal like very ashy blonde, the other item was "Crepe Away", anti wrinkle cream of dollar store quality they sell for about $12, had a watery consistency, cheap garbage. Sally's written return policy says "Love it or we will gladly refund it (with a receipt) or exchange it without a receipt. Both purchases came to $19. and change. The young cashier as I entered agreed to exchange the items, I showed her a copy of their return policy which I had and although I did not have the store receipt, I did have my credit card transaction receipt showing the total amount paid, date, and transaction #. I spent an hour in the store, trying to find something as as Sally apparently no longer carries name brand products..years ago I remember them having name brands such as Matrix, Loreal, etc etc. Most of the products now I never heard of and of course the awful hair color I originally bought ruined my hair. Well, after an hour I went to exchange my products as agreed....in the middle of the transaction a heavy set clerk barged in and wanted to see my receipt. I went thru the whole story once again, and she informed me that she would not return my products as the first clerk agreed to. I showed her the "Love it or return it" guarantee, which states if you do NOT have a receipt you will get a store credit. (I purchased it the week prior) She said since I used the hair color (the crap that discolored my hair !) I can't return it. I asked as to their written return policy, "Love it or return it" and asked "How can I know if I "love it' if I do not use it" She said I need the receipt if I use it, was very sarcastic. I asked her name and position. Amanda; she calls herself an "Associate" So now I am in the process of contacting the CEO of Sallys as to them lying about their return policy, in writing on the internet which is a punishable crime and to which I reported it to the IC3.gov, a branch of the FBI that investigates white collar crime and false advertising on the internet. I wasted over one hour of my time at Sallys because of AMANDA, "The Associate" . Amanda, my time is worth $50 an hour...you made me waste it due to your misrepresenting Sally Beauty Suppy and making a liar out of the CEO. You will be hearing from me and or the Internet Crime Bureau. I don't have a yelp acct, using a friends , my name is Peggy Alba I was just there at Sally's in Lindenhurst at 1:45 yo 2:45 when I encountered this hostile "Associate", whose last name I do not know but a rather plain overweight woman named "Amanda" who needs to be re-educated as to Sally's return policy and treating long time customers. I will never again do business with Sally's until they can hire some knowledgeable "Associates" who do not carry a rather huge chip on their shoulders and take it out on customers. read more
