I don't have an issue with the store, however, minutes or not, this location will close before it's listed hour of 7pm. I am that jerk who goes in 3 minutes before close to purchase an item, but I was here before 7 and would have been out the door by 7 as I knew exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, the door was locked by at least 6:57. I work in customer service myself so I understand some customers can attempt to mosey, but some simply don't have all the time in the world so getting here when I did was the best I could manage with my personal busy hours. They close whenever they feel like it, as does the one in Newington/Portsmouth. For example, Monday they had a sign on their door, a handwritten note, saying "we will be closed from 1pm to 4 pm sorry for the inconvenience" which was spelt incorrectly. Then Wednesday I called the same store and they answered and said they "didn't think they'd be closing randomly for any reason that she knew of". Also they had no bags and I had purchased 60 dollars worth of products and items and two different transactions because I realized they DID have the product they had told me they DIDN'T carry and that they " had no idea at all what clay lightener is I've never heard of that we don't carry that ". They had me walking through the store with 12 plus little and large items in my hands struggling not to drop any. As I walked back toward the back of the store to grab the clay lightening my friend had spotted . Then walked back to register and cashed out at which time I had to put items in my pants pockets, jacket pockets etc and still had my hands full! It also states in the greeting recording and prompt when you call the business stating "for most accurate and up to date hours please check Sally's website" which also will states that they should be open when they are not open. Then today Thursday I went there under the impression and reassurance of the hours on the store website and google as well as Yelp , all to find the store dark and closed up no sign of anyone at 6:15 pm when 7pm is the consensus of numerous different sites listing Sally's business hours. Don't get me wrong I've always loved the store itself for its products etc and selection but not so much the employees because they're not always that friendly or even knowledgeable with the rare occasion you're approached by a knowledgeable person who's helpful as well. But their hours are really becoming a problem, I don't drive so I either pay outrageous fares to get an Uber or Lyft there to find out they are not even open ! Which in turn means I won't be getting the items I need and that results in me not being able to complete my clients desires as previously stated and agreed upon which wastes all that time that day and gas and so many more inconvenient things. Also resulting in my client being disappointed, me being in enraged and looking like a fool considering when they look it up to confirm that it was actually closed it states that they are open ! Great for business let me tell you . And no one can say I should be prepared earlier because sometimes that's not an option at all so please save it if anyone feels the need to comment on this review. read more

I wanted pink hair. I was aware that I wouldn't get pastel pink after bleaching black box dye. I was asked if I needed any help, so I asked an employee who had pretty cool split dyed hair for advice on which brand and color I should get. They recommend strawberry leopard, they said it was super pigmented. Aside from a spot or two, I got my hair super light, and used the hairdye they recommended. The first thing I noticed was the lack of pigment. I bought the darker pink they had. This hairdye was so unpigmented it didn't even slightly stain my BARE HANDS. I caked this hairdye in my pretty short hair, I used the entire bottle. My hair is an ugly shade of highlighter orange, and it looks like I've had it for weeks (this all happened last night). I am upset. The employee was nice and conducted themself well and all, but the recommendation was awful and I am now the world's ugliest human highlighter. read more

My 10-year old wanted her hair tips dyed blue. I called around to a few salons and was quoted well over $100. So, I thought, how complicated can this be? I went to Sally Beauty Supply and and found out it's a bit more complicated than I thought, but the employee working was incredibly helpful. She spent so much time with us, making sure we had the right product and how to use all of it. She explained how how much time each step would take and what to expect. We left with supplies costing a fraction of the salon quotes. We went home and followed the employee's instructions and could not be happier. My daughter's hair looks great and we feel very accomplished. Highly recommend. Above expectations in customer service. read more

Always happy with Sally's in general. However, today I was a little peeved. They have a sample of hand sanitizer out by the register so I asked where that was so I could buy one. I was pointed to where there hand sanitizers were but not a single one of the sample one that was put out. When I was looking and looking and asking multiple times where it was, I felt stupid for not seeing it only to realize there were only other brands. Why have a certain brand out when you don't have any available for sale??? Also, in the past few months your system could always see when I had a reward available. Apparently now it doesn't see rewards so I have to inform the associate. Tired of this company changing their systems. Please make it consistent. read more

I visited the store Thursday September 17th, two days before my siblings wedding. I'm a single parent, a restaurant owner, a home owner..personal time is limited, social life obsolete. It was the end of a hectic week and Sally's was the last stop on my list. I work with the hardest personalities one could be faced with, as well as the most diverse. I have a tough soul of women to be in the industry and career I am in. As an owner who manages people it is my daily routine to know all aspects of my business. I have built a solid team over the past 6 years and know what it takes to hire and find the right people.I was disappointed and shocked with the two associates employed by Sally's. Not on knowledge of product, or meet and greet at the door, but how they both stereotyped the way I was dressed. Black chef capris, birkenstok crocs and a t shirt. As well as there discriminating judgement they placed on me simply due to dropping a shampoo bottle from my arms. Their actions were inappropriate by treating me as if I was trying to steal product from the store. It takes a lot to offend me, I left the store and had a deadline fax that needed to be sent or I would have gone back into the store and told them how they just made me feel. The staff at Sally's should be educated on the damage one can have on a person as well as the business at hand when accusations are false. There are precautions, such as cameras one can take to avoid such behavior. Training staff, especially young adults that theft is such a problem at that location that they target everyone is no way to run, operate, or own a business. As a business, employing and training young adults to judge people in this manner could create a negative part in their personality that they may carry with them in life even as they depart with your company. I am tempted to return dressed in my normal street clothes to see if they treat me in a better manner, however I already know the answer to that situation and do not plan on returning again. Be aware of not only your customers actions, but your approach and actions as well. read more
