Terribly unprofessional environment. Entirely too noisy. Made complaint before and it went through one ear and out the other. Yesterday was offered a seat in the back of the building by the "manager" Gwen while I waited to be seated at my hairdresser's station. Unruly conduct was allowed to continue rather than accommodate a paying customer. Salon 54 has lost my business and rightly so. read more

A Few years ago I went to Salon 54 and the owner Amber cut my hair. Someone came up to her to ask a question and when she turned around she cut a chunk of my hair out. She denied that it happened and never offered to do something to try to even it out. She had a very rude attitude. A few weeks ago I went to her other Salon Shear for a hair cut and consultation with another stylist. I really liked this person. I made another appointment for highlights with Randy. I received a text to confirm this appointment and I replied yes that I would be there. One of the office girls called and ask how was my first experience and I said I liked him and we would just need to discuss the price again because It sounded like it was going to be more money than we discussed. She started going on and on that I must talk to Amber the owner to complain. I told her 3 times I am not complaining and I didn't need to speak with Amber. One day before my appointment Amber left a voice mail saying she was canceling my appointment and would not be rescheduling it. I should look for another Salon. Amber has a big ego, is rude and disrespectful. She assumes her employee was right with whatever negative comments were made. The sad part is that Randy doesn't know what is boss is doing by canceling his appointments. He probably didn't have another last minute appointment time available therefore he lost revenue because of her nasty attitude. read more

Way too expensive for my taste. All I got was a shampoo and blow dry because I have a very bad back and it was a day I just couldn't do it myself. My hair was straight and nothing was used to curl the ends of my hair. Not impressed. read more

Mid-July I made an appointment at this new (to me) salon. My appointment was made for a couple of weeks out. The appointment was for a cut and color. The salon called me when a cancellation came up days before my scheduled time and I jumped on it! When I arrived I received a great shampoo, but when I went to the stylist's chair, I was told I could only get the cut today, no color, as the stylist didn't have time to do my color. I truly wish I had known that before I drove to the salon, for what I thought would be a great experience. The stylist looked at a picture I brought and began cutting away. Toward the end of the cut, she began "texturizing" the ends of a haircut that was already WAY too short. I didn't panic, I thought, well she is the stylist, she knows what she is doing. What I left with was a far too short haircut and unfixable fried split ends. I lied and said I loved it. I hated it...(my bad for not speaking up). I am still growing out of an awful haircut that I could have avoided had I not been given an appointment that was nothing more than a time filler. This was by far the WORST salon experience I ever had!! I didn't just go there once. Let me start at the beginning. I was looking for a "progressive" salon because I just moved here from the Los Angeles area. I want to have a modern style that shows I'm artistic. The first person who cut my hair at Salon 54, sliced off the back of my head and straightened my naturally curly locks. It looked horrible. But I paid and complained. They told me they would make the next appointment with someone else. Finally my color looked a fire and the cut was sick! I returned in about 4 weeks just before my vacay. I made my appointment to get my roots done well in advance. Things started out normally when I arrived at noon. She looked at my hair and started mixing the concoction. Once applied to my head, I was told to go sit in the waiting area- the same area customers awaiting their stylists sit. Because of social distancing, I had to process in the front. It was cold and rainy. I was very uncomfortable. It was about 12:20 when I went to my spot. The stylist told me it would take about 30 mins. She NEVER returned to check on me. I kept checking my watch. There was a nice lady also waiting for her hair to process. But she left long before I did. About 1:20, my stylist returned telling me how she hadn't seen that client in a while. She just rinsed out my hair and didn't even comb the colour through. She dried my hair and when I looked at it I didn't notice that there was a lot of colour on my forehead and the new colour was extremely dark. She dried it in a way to disguise that. So I left on vaycay. I finally discovered the dark roots & stained forehead from the colour - the hair was much darker than my normal colour. I was very angry. So I took pictures and returned to the salon after I got home for my vacation. I talked to the stylist and she accuse me of lying. So I went to the manager and she did nothing. She said she could put me with yet another stylist! I told her I would never step in that salon again! I think that salon is really a desperate place for people to go. You're taking a risk even walking by there. I had two very bad experiences at that one salon. Now I'm stuck with hair that is way too short and too dark. If I were a mean person I would take them to Small Claims Court. But instead I will just write a bad review as many places as I can. Please don't go there If we get enough people avoiding the salon then my word of their ignorance will get through to them. Thank you for reading this. read more

Studio 54 salon uses novice hairstylists and charges expert prices. Rachel was my stylist. Color was wrong. Hair cut half done. Had to add toner at end that took my highlights away. Left the salon after 3 hours with wet hair $240 bill. I did not get what I paid for. I did complain to the owner Amber who offered to redo my hair. From speaking with Amber on the phone her experience is limited with hair as well. I wanted half my money back. I do not recommend this salon. read more

I called and made an appointment for my 1st time visit for a cut and an all over color... they called me 10 minutes before my appointment time to tell me that my appointment had to be canceled... this place is 45 minutes from me... I've been coming to Salon 54 since I was a teenager and I can't say enough good things about it. As someone with curly/wavy/frizzy hair (depends on its mood that day), it's difficult to find someone who cuts my kind of hair properly. This is not a Great Clips head of hair we are working with here. My stylist is Sukey and I would highly recommend her both as a stylist and colorist. Although my hair is its natural shade now she's colored it everything under the sun in the past and it's always turned out exactly how I wanted (red, blonde, black, highlights and lowlights). When you check in they offer you something to drink, water, sodas, or tea. They'll usually ask once you are back with your stylist as well. Since I've been going for so long, I know most of the stylists personally and everyone is always very friendly. They take a real interest in their customers and I've never felt rushed through a service. It is a hike from Atlanta, but I appreciate the service here so much I drive down every six weeks! Check it out if you're in the area, but make sure to call ahead for an appointment. Although there can be last minute appointments available, they're often not able to accommodate walk ins. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. The service was awful. I went in for low lights and highlights for a summer look. The stylist used dye that was way too dark and ended up having to bleach my hair out just to get it to lighten up. The color is still way too dark and the cut is uneven. My hair is now super dry and brittle. They still charged full price and tried to sell me an additional treatment to help the quality of my hair. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

If I could give minus, I would. The worst haircut ever. Despite spending several minutes explaining the very simple hair cut (a shorter version of what I had), Lisa completely ignored everything we discussed and went off on her own 'walkabout'. I asked for 2 inches off the bottom but instead she took it upon herself to thin it out on the bottom using her 'texturizing' scissors, making it fly away and with no actual length cut off it. There was no styling done around the face and she looked at me like I had asked for the world when I kindly asked about that. The over all hair cut was poor indeed. My husband's first remark afterwards when he picked me up were: "looks exactly the same as when you went in, it's the same length". I actually needed a cut barely 2 weeks later. The blow drying just as unprofessional! I've never seen a self proclaimed 'experienced senior hair stylist' who didn't know how to even hold the brush right or to actually style the hair properly. Maybe she had a sore wrist that day -- either way, it was unprofessional in every regard. And I recommend taking your own shampoo and conditioner as the one Lisa used was laden with toxic chemicals and made my hair lack lustre and dull. I could not be more disappointed. read more

This is my 3rd time coming and the last one unfortunately . The first time I got a haircut by Lisa, I got an asymmetrical bob cut and I loved how she style it at the end, the second time I got color with Tabatha? I wasn't crazy about it because the toner seemed to fade 2 weeks after. The third time did it for me. I got a haircut by Lisa again except this time she didnt style it properly unlike the first time, she even told at the end she didnt straightened my hair because it was going to cost me extra $10. I paid the exact same amount of money the first time except this time she decided she wasnt going to do it and by the way she decided for me expecting I didnt have the extra $10 to get my hair style after a haircut. I paid $59 for a haircut in ptc because I hate driving to the city to get my hair done. I felt patronized and undertreated, I didnt tip her, I deserve that extra touch. I initially went there to get the haircut and style I wanted and I deserved it. I'm not coming back and I'll be posting this every where in social media. read more

We moved to the area 6 years ago. After a terrible highlight experience at another establishment, I found Amber at Salon 54 and she fixed my hair. I have been with her since. I have very dark hair and she highlights it and I have a true blonde color without harsh tones. She listens to what I want in terms of color and cut and has helped me find products that work for my hair type. Lisa cuts my husband and 2 sons' hair. Both Lisa and Amber are extremely meticulous about their work. They care about their clients and it shows. The receptionists are always extremely friendly and have gone above and beyond if we have a scheduling conflict. I love this salon! read more

I was very let down with the service at this salon. I came for a last minute hair cut (just something simple) and they were available and I had heard good things. I came in and was greeted and offered a drink, and I felt good about my choice. I instantly regretted it once my stylist came and took me to her station. She gave short comments about what I was asking for ( I wanted my split ends cut, and I wanted her opinion) and after she shampooed me, cut all of my hair in under 10 minutes. I have semi medium long hair and my regular stylist takes at least 30 minutes to cut it. She went and took care of another client for 20 minutes while my hair air dried and when she came back I asked if she could cut one section a little more and she looked at me and said , "why??" She didn't end up even cutting what I asked. It overall was an unpleasant experience and although the receptionist asked me how my experience was, I couldn't say much because I felt the pressure of other employees around me. Hopefully they are more kind to those who regularly visit. read more
