My hair stylist moved out of state and I've been trying to find someone new that I like. I kept striking out until I found Kelly on Groupon. She did an amazing job and was the first time I've ever had a deep conditioning treatment with heat. I feel really bad that I have to write this review but it's important I do. It's been awhile since I had my hair done here and I fought with myself for months about writing this because a mutual friend suggested this place...so I was feeling guilty. Each day that goes by my hair is starting to grow and get stronger but all of the broken hair is a constant reminder of what happened at salon 66 the day that my hair was ruined. I'll start by saying that my hair is a level 7 on the color scale which is not very dark at all, I'm about a medium/dark blonde naturally. So I go in with the expectation that my stylist Christine knows what she's doing and I put my full trust in her...she made me feel very at ease. Never for a moment did I think she didn't know what she was doing. So all I wanted was a fairly heavy balayage ombré with platinum blonde (keep in mind I have done this same procedure about 3-4 times throughout the years and never had any issues) my hair lifts very fast and never needs to process longer than 35 min. I was under the dryer for at least 60 min which in my mind was way too long but I didn't think that I needed to say anything because she was the expert and she knew what she was doing right? WRONG. So I get done processing and I did get a little long layer trim nothing significant just dead ends...and my hair felt extremely light...much more than it ever had before, which surprised me since I only got a trim not an actual cut. So it looks amazing but something just feels off with my hair...she keeps stressing how important it is to never brush my hair without putting a good amount of leave in conditioner or oil which I knew already but she seemed overly concerned about it...I normally don't wash my hair for 5-6 days after getting it bleached anyway. I get home and I put my hair up in a messy bun and this was when I realized something just didn't feel right...my hair felt thin, mind you...my hair was so thick before that I used to get it thinned out...but it hadn't been thinned for over 3 years. The next day I had to work so I put my hair in a side braid like I always do and my hair was so thin it wouldn't even hold a braid...this was when I actually could see the amount of hair that I'd lost and I started to cry. I knew that there was no way to fix this because the only way to fix it was to get my hair back and there was no way that could happen obviously. So this is when reality set in, and the long journey to re-grow and thicken my hair became my only focus. I felt so betrayed and honestly I still do...I'm not actually sure what exactly happened here other than my hair probably broke off due to the over processing she had done and she had to cut more off of my hair to try and cover this up, but me being as anal and picky about my hair as I am, I noticed immediately. I am not mad at Christine but I am extremely disappointed and I do feel like she completely screwed me over...I ended up paying her more than $200 to come home with literally half of the hair I went in with...my advice to all of you out there reading this is: know who you are going to and just because someone refers you does not mean the stylist knows what she's doing, do your research and if there's any gut feeling that something isn't going right...say something, don't trust someone just because you've "heard" that she's good. Another piece of advice is this: if you have blonde hair go to a stylist who has blonde hair because in my experience a blonde knows how to process a blonde...this has literally never happened to me in my whole life...sadly I use to be a hair model and I don't think my hair will ever be the way it was before it was butchered at this salon, I'm Currently taking hair re-growth vitamins and it's the only thing that is helping me. I'm still very bothered by what happened at this salon every single day that I look at my hair :( please be careful who you let touch your hair...I would not ever wish this on anyone. #heartbroken read more

I don't even think 5 stars does Tasha at Salon 66 justice! Not only am I shocked by my beautiful hairstyle and color but I am floored by the amount of attention to detail this young lady provided as well as the time spent listening to me. I had had the same hairstylist for 25 years so not only was I due for a change but was uncertain what kind of change it would be. Tasha explained what we could do with hair like mine (thin, but lots of it) and helped me understand if I wanted a wild color to start light and then get used to it and go from the there. The lavender she and I chose is perfect and not overwhelming and she is helping me get rid of the dark undertone I never liked to begin with but my hairstylist did, and doing it the cheap way and easy on my hair way! It is a bit to get used to getting rid of a lot of blonde and going back to brunette for my hubby and man is he happy, but Tasha told me blonde can be added in a heartbeat and her prices were reasonable. I got a great Groupon so look there but her prices w/o it are still amazing for the effort she put into me! I haven't had this much attention from a hairstylist in my life! I LOVE this place! I went here on a friend's recommendation and I am so glad I did! I saw Lou (Lucille) and she did an amazing job on my hair. She had great recommendations for what would look good on me and I really appreciate that. She is super knowledgable as well and gave me a lot of tips on what I should do to keep my hair healthy. The prices are absolutely amazing for all of the time she spends on you. This place is honest, caring and very personable. My appt. was with Chris. She is awesome and very knowledgable. So friendly, outgoing and explains things easily. My problem when i get my hair done is....well i don't know what i want or what will look good. Chris made me feel very comfortable. My hair turned out pretty good. I would say the only thing i was disappointed with was how dark it was. I wanted it to have more of a red tint but really Chris just followed what i told her as far as what colors to mix so maybe that was a lack of communication on my part. Having said that, i still really like the color. This place is a little hole in the wall for now but i felt the most comfortable and involved in the process as i ever have getting my hair done before. Tasha and Lou were the best! I found Tasha on Groupon and I needed a new hair style ASAP. I used the groupon for a cut and single process color and I got an appointment ASAP. Since I live in aurora, it was a hike to get there. But it was worth sitting in traffic! Tasha and Lou are amazing at what they do. I wanted to color my hair black and they talked me out of it, I went with a beautiful dark purple instead and I love it! I came in undecided of what EXACTLY I wanted, and I trusted their opinion. Tasha suggested I darken my eyebrows and I'm so glad I followed her advice. My eyebrows got done along with my hair.
