Everyone there is so friendly and they make you feel very comfortable. Last weekend I had a hair and makeup trial with Erin for my upcoming wedding. Both my hair and my makeup exceeded my expectations. I will be using her for my wedding in January and coming back for a charity gala in May. Today I got a haircut by Erin. Wow! My hair looks and feels fabulous and healthy. Erin has an eye for getting the cut just right. Definitely recommend The Loft Salon for special occasion hair and makeup as well as hair cuts. I've only had great experiences, but they were at another location. When I moved to a different part of the cities this was the closest salon. I trusted them, and made sure to pick a stylist that had years of experiene doing a type of coloring that I hoped to get. I brought almost a dozen photo references, including photos of what I didn't want that I've had in the past. I was very clear on what I wanted and didn't, but the stylist seemed annoyed. She didn't even look at the photos. Several times through the service I voiced my concerns that I wasn't liking how it was turning out, but she kept reassuring me that it would look great. She was super rough brushing and blowdrying that it hurt, and the result looked exactly like my "do not" photos. I wanted ombre, but got chunky, streaky highlights that stopped an inch from my roots. They weren't blended or even symmetrical. They were copper yellow, not brunette. I told her I didn't like it and that it didn't look like the photos, and she argued with me that it did, that I shouldn't have tried this when my hair was colored previously (6 months prior), and in fact she loved it. I asked if it could be fixed, and she said I could only do another gloss but that wouldn't turn out well. I was so disappointed and discouraged. I'm not usually one to speak up, but I was so upset about the color and it was so expensive I had to. I cried in the car! When I called back, I felt like I wasn't being listened to, was argued with, and made to feel stupid like I didn't know what I was looking at. I went through several people up the chain before someone agreed to fix it. She was able to squeeze me in the next day, and was so caring and gentle I almost forgot the day before. But she only had time to blend it out and tone it down so it didn't look like I did it myself. So while they did fix it, I am hesitant to go back. I know everyone has bad days and mistakes happen, but how can a senior stylist who says they specialize in something do so poorly and then argue with me when I said I didn't like it? It was like I was being gaslit to not trust what my eyes saw.

Our previous stylist took early retirement due to the pandemic. We looked around and found K+Co in our neighborhood. We checked out the reviews on Yelp which were excellent. We also did not want a large salon as we are limiting our contacts. K+Co is a small, two stylist shop and they try to schedule appointments so that both stylists and their clients are not there at the same time. They don't always succeed at this but they try. I use Katie who does men's hair and my wife uses Kelly who does women's hair. We have both been very pleased with the quality of service we have received. We have also appreciated the attention they have given to preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus by careful masking, sanitation and scheduling. We highly recommend K+Co.
