My mother went to this salon multiple times in the past for hair services. The owner declined services to her after scheduling an appointment and showing up day of appointment on time. The lady was rude, unprofessional and very poor customer service. I'm writing this on behalf for my mother considering her skill level with English. So I have difficult to work with mixed race hair that's been messed up by stylists since I was a kid. So it made me sick sick sick when I had a self-imposed relaxer mishap that resulted in a lot of breakage in the back. What was I thinking? Long story short, in an effort to even out the breakage I lost a lot of length from a bad haircut AND it was time for a relaxer but a much milder chemical product was a must. So I contacted Zed, the owner of Salon Adidez, to make my world right again. She repaired the bad cut, gave me a low-lye relaxer, and will work with me for the rest of the year on growing out my hair again. I've seen Zed's work. Very nice! For sure if you have Black or ethnic hair and are looking for a stylist who knows our hair, go see Zed. She does a variety of styles, chemical treatments, extensions manis & pedis, and waxing. By the way, Zed is one of the few stylists I've met who has much experience and talent working with every type of hair (straight, wavy, curly and kinky) not just "Black" hair. read more

I booked an appointment via Groupon for eyelash extensions. My appointment was for 10:45am. I arrived at the salon at exactly 10:45am. The salon was supposed to be open since 9am, but no one was there and the door was locked. I called the phone number, but it didn't work. I then went on my phone to email and also Facebook message the salon, but no response. I waited for the next 45 min just standing out in front of the salon. No one ever showed. Then my Groupon automatically was marked used, since the appointment had passed. That in itself is a huge headache that I shouldn't of had to deal with. I still have not even heard back from the salon. I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

Salon Adidez worst customer service ever and disrespectful owner or employee!!! so here is the story why? i heard good reviews about this place, so it caught my attention to take my little sister here to get her hair relax. Long story short i had a family emergency to attend too. So i did what anyone else would do call in and tell them you can make it to your appointment. So i did and this is the response i get Salon Adidez: "hello?" Me: Hi there, my name is _____"so i cant make it to my appointment today, because i have a family emergency to attend too." Salon Adidez: "Oh Okay, Don't ever come back here ever again" Me: what??? why?? what did i do? Salon Adidez: "Don't ever come back" (hang up phone) and just letting everyone know relaxing a little girls hair with natural curls is really expensive. your looking to pay from $100 to maybe $200 plus. Zed's salon has a nice ambience, and has a neighborly feel, which she welcomed me warmly. While I was waiting, she had a client, and her hair looked wonderful afterwards. I called in and got an appointment within that same day, as I had an itch for a haircut. I was uncertain to what I wanted, but knew I wanted a shoulder length bob. Which turned out nicely, but not what I envisioned, as I was nervous to cut off a lot and didn't voice strongly what bob cut I really wanted, and so we went the conservative route with not a drastic change. So if you have something you envision be assertive, and She'll capture it. I liked that Zed gave me feedback on the condition of my hair, and a product I can use for hair treatment. I think price is a bit high for the amount spent on the actual cut. There are a few strands that missed some trimming. She's great at the length, as she'll go a little over than what you asked, which is awesome, as some stylist can get scissor happy. I also love her expertise and knowing my wavy hair, and straying away from texturing it. It was a solid haircut, and happy I supported a neighborhood business. I'm new to Seattle, so still feeling adventurous to seeking other stylists, but nice to know Zed has a lovely, quality hair salon in Columbia City! read more

With so many great reviews, I figured I couldn't go wrong with a cut here. I was wrong. I have wavy, multi-textured hair. The reviews on the site gave me confidence that they'd be able to handle it. Nah. The stylist didn't seem to understand what this meant or make an attempt to get to know my hair before jumping in. Zed was apparently triple-booked. I booked online about a week in advance. She called a couple hours before saying she was double-booked, but that someone else could cut it and would "probably do a good job." I was desperate for a cut so I accepted. When I was there, it became clear that she was trying to work on two people at once as it was. The woman who cut my hair first told me she just washes and dries hair, so I was a little startled after it was washed and she started doing some consultation. The way she asked questions made me think she didn't cut a lot of hair. I should have taken the warning sign and left. As I explained what I wanted and how important it was that my hair be at least a particular length so that I could still wear it wavy, she didn't seem to totally get it. Again, my fault for moving forward. It ended up being a couple/few inches shorter than I'd requested. When she started to cut my hair I knew right away that she didn't know what she was doing. She cut hair the way I remember the new students cutting it at beauty school (I recognized this because back when I was in college that was all I could afford). The whole time she was cutting my hair my stomach was turning because honestly it just didn't look like she'd done this much. In the end, my hair looks... sad. It looks like I went to Great Clips - yes, freshly cut, but somehow really awkward, like a middle schoolers artwork. Now, to the salon's credit, the owner, Zed, is *really* nice and was including me in the conversation she was having with one of her two clients. She showed genuine interest in her client's lives and she might even be really awesome with hair. The woman cutting my hair was nice enough, but apparently fresh out of beauty school (learned near the end of my cut) and in need of a LOT more practice. So, now I'm committed to a ponytail for the next couple of months because it's too short to take elsewhere for a fix. Saaaad! This is a great place in every way (hospitable environment, friendly service, good value, and excellent haircuts)! I have slightly curly, thick hair that I keep medium length (for a guy). Lots of places can make it look OK in the short-term, but what I love about Salon Adidez is that Zed (the owner and one of the stylists) is that she cuts it so that it looks great immediately afterwards AND so that it looks good as it grows out and gets longer. This is late review but I felt the need to post something. I wanted to get my hair flat ironed for New Years. I found this place based on the somewhat good reviews they had. So I decided to schedule an appointment. I scheduled an appointment with a women on the phone who seemed nice. When I arrived at the appointment the women at the shop looked confused on the fact of me making an appointment. I guess she never wrote my information down. My hair is completely natural with no dye or relaxers. My hair was about bra strap length. After getting my hair flat ironed the lady seemed to have done a good job. She got my hair pretty straight. But after washing my hair I noticed that I had gotten extreme heat damage. My hair completely didn't strink back to my curly state. I was devasted. The women gave me heat damaged on hair that I worked to hard of taking care. I had to end up cutting my hair because of the amount of damage I had. I will never let know one ever do my hair again, especially this place. The women doing my hair needs to become more educated on black hair. read more

I loved this salon! As just a visitor to the city of Seattle with a need for a relaxer, Salon Adidez was so welcoming and relaxing. Zed and her team really know what they're doing. I got my hair deep conditioned, relaxed, and cut perfectly. IT FEELS LIKE SILK! A little pricey to an east-coaster on the west-coast, but for the result every penny was worth it. They just don't have enough stars for this place! I am from out of town and a retired owner of 4 salons.I wanted to find a professional who really could work with my over curly hair and talk about being scared. So I went to yelp to read reviews before I went anywhere.BINGO, I found this place and Zed is amazing! I had my kinky blonde hair chemically straighten. Fabulous.She is so nice to talk to and has been doing hair for 20 years. I found out that on her days off she teaches hair at the beauty school.She really knows the art right down to testing the hair before doing the service.She is very reasonable.She does beautiful braids also.The salon is located on very busy corner, so you might have to walk a block, but she is worth it.It's a place where she does the pedicures ,nails and hair colors and cuts. She has an assistant who helps with shampooing, but Zed finishes what she started.(I don't like a million strangers in my hair)She does all ethnic type hair.Not many stylist can claim to that.
