She was kind, informative, and incredibly patient -- especially with my long, thick hair! The results were amazing. I walked out feeling like myself again, only better. Luckily there was a novice stylist who was just starting to take clients who could fit me in. The salon is very elegant and stylish. A place they would offer you a glass of wine or champagne. (they didn't) The stylist did a great job. I just haven't been back because I'm too cheap to spend that kind of money on a regular basis. Supercuts is more my speed these days.

She recommended that I should focus on treating and restoring my hair first, and then come back next time for coloring so the results would look better and healthier. What really impressed me was her thoughtfulness -- she noticed that my roots had grown out unevenly in color, so she went ahead and blended the color to match the rest of my hair. We had an appointment with Vanessa Mendez on September 2, 2025 and I explained to her what I wanted done but she didn't do that--apparently she did something according to a picture my daughter showed her when I was moving my car. The problem with the photo my daughter showed her is that the girl in the picture had straight hair, completely different than my daughter's hair. When you are 10, you can't understand that your hair won't look like that of the picture. I don't know if you have kids but I'm guessing Vanessa does not. You do what the parent says, not the child. So here's all the reasons I'm upset: 1. Although I just wanted the bottom 3 inches or so to have color, she bleached it almost all the way up to her roots in front, maybe an inch from the top. 2. Blue. I said BLUE. After the bleaching process, she started putting GREEN with a slightly blue tint dye on her hair. I stopped her and said it needed to be more blue. She begrudgingly went back and added blue but now, 3 1/2 weeks later, the color has washed out and it's an awful shade of light green. The reason why I wanted blue is because I knew the color would wash out and light blue would look so much better than this brassy green color it now is. 3. I asked Vanessa if she thought a Brazilian Blowout would help smooth out the texture of her hair and she assured me that it would but it didn't. If anything, it's made her hair more dry and crunchy than it would have been otherwise. I have had Yuko Japanese straightening done on my own hair so I know that the 2 swipes with a flat iron wasn't enough to do anything but I trusted she knew what she was doing. Within an hour after leaving the salon, her hair was poofy, frizzy and felt like straw. Mind you, this was on 100% virgin hair that had never had any treatments of any sort. 4. We spent the entire day at this salon, from 10am to around 3:45pm and Vanessa made us feel like we were bothering her the entire time. She didn't talk to us at all, except when I had to intervene in what she was doing and only in response. This outing cost me over $700 so I was upset to see that the salon is now "temporarily closed," according to Yelp. The phones are disconnected and I've gotten no response by email or Facebook. I literally feel like she stole my money since she either didn't know how to do a Brazilian Blowout or she just didn't care. In hindsight, (it was probably Vanessa's guilty conscience since she knew she was charging me for a Brazilian Blowout that we didn't get), I tipped her too well because she asked me multiple times if I was sure I wanted to give her that big of a tip. Also in hindsight, she probably wasn't worried about me coming back to complain since she knew the salon was about to close down. Google shows that Salon Soleil is supposed to reopen January of 2026, rest assured I will be driving by to check on a regular basis but I'm not getting my hopes up.

My stylist is Maria Armenteros. I've been going to her for years! What's great about Maria is that while she's been in the field for over 30 years, she participates in continuing education. Translation: Since she's always learning new styles, cuts and color/extension techniques, I can go to her and know I'm in good hands. No hair need I have is too great for her! If I want the latest trend hair cut or color, I know I can get it from her. In particular, since I have thick, wavy hair, she performs the japanese straightening on it and she also cuts it so well that my hair looks smooth, shiny and healthy. I've never achieved that with any other stylist! Lastly, Salon Ambiance provides a great atmosphere with nice, professional receptionists and capable stylists. I have been to approximately six stylists in last six years. They can never seem to match my brown hair. I have persistently been left with a brassy brown even when I use sulfate free shampoo. I finally used google and found Salon Ambiance and read the reviews on Robert. I had him fix my sons hair which had been turned into Billy Idol color when natural is more Owen Wilson. After he was able to fix my sons hair to look just like his natural color(he does acting and it was changed) I asked if he was good with brunets? I went a week later and finally my brown hair is brown. It is the true color and two weeks later it still the same color. I cannot express enough happiness with the job Robert has done for myself and my son. I will never go anywhere else. Thank-You to others who posted so I was able to find Robert. This was my first time going to SA and I would highly advise anyone who's looking for a new stylist to ask for Nancy. Upon entering, I was kindly greeted by the receptionist and offered a cold glass of Cucumber Water. The overall vibe of the salon was welcoming, upbeat and comfortable. When I met with Nancy I immediately knew I was in great hands. Nancy is extremely knowledgable with a keen ear to hearing out what the customer wants then delivering. She did a great job of listening to my requests then making suggestions on certain looks. The overall work she did was A++ ! ! ! Not only was she very skillful, but also a great conversationalist as well. In all Nancy and the crew deserve and huge round of applause and should be proud to know they retained a new client. This has to be by far the best salon experience I have ever had. I had never been here so I called to make an appointment, the woman over the phone was nice , helpful, and scheduled me for the next day. When I got there I was introduced to Bailey. She was so sweet and really listened to what I wanted. I showed her one picture and she knew exactly how we could achieve this for my hair. She brought me coffee, water and magazines while I waited for my hair to sit. I didn't feel rushed what so ever, she really took her time and it shows. After this she gave me a nice layered cut and styled my hair with beachy waves all for $120!! So inexpensive for the amazing quality and treatment I got. Okay, so PAUL PIÑA is the ultimate hairstylist! I'm serious, he is incredible. He always knows exactly how to cut my hair to match my face whether it is a long cut or a short cut. He is very wise and knowledgable in the field and he is a great listener when it comes to your hair related desires. I love the man. He puts you at ease. For years I would not do color because I took pride in the natural untainted awesomeness that was my hair but Paul convinced me to try something subtle and different. I finally agreed and I LOVE IT! If you are looking to get your hair cut anf colored, ook no further than Erin!! She is an amazing colorist with a fun and outgoing personality. She takes the time to get to know all of your wants and needs and can transform your hair into something spectacular!! She is great with a great spectrum of colors, but I would say she is a red specialist!!! I get compliments on my red hair all of the time and I always tell them to see Erin!!! I LOVE Bailey at Love Salon Ambiance. I generally don't like having my hair done. I can't stand to sit still. But I've been on a book tour and needed to have a lot of photos taken and videotaped a couple of cable TV shows. I needed to look good. Bailey did my hair for every event, and my hair looked fantastic in all the photos and videotapes. She made me feel so confident, pretty, and a couple of decades younger. I recommend her without reservation. She is fantastic! She knew how to make me look stylish and attractive. I loved what she did for me! I have been looking for a Stylist who could do my hair and I do not have to look any further, I found the perfect Sylist! I have been looking for a long time and finally found a great professional! Paul is running a special for color, cut and style for $85.00 and that is a great deal! Paul is quick and his late hours are great for the working person. I have had my hair cut 5 different times at different locations and always left highly disappointed almost in tears! My last cut was no better! Salon Ambiance is absolutely phenomenal! On the day of my wedding photo shoot, I received the royal treatment all around -- my hair was cut, highlighted, and styled to perfection by Anthony, and Sarah gave me a total makeover to complete the look. I've never felt more like a princess than I did on that day! They are so friendly and sociable, very attentive to what you're asking of them and going way beyond expectation. Perfect curls by Rob Ray! I have looked for years for someone who understands my curly hair. Rob Ray is that person! Not only did he give me a fantastic cut, he spent the time to show me how to style my hair that will enhance my natural curls. I have been able to recreate the same look every day at home! Of course, product is part of getting this great look but I was not pressured to buy any. I purchased two of the six products that Rob used. The Ouidad products are really great and I get a better result when I use them but I can also fill in with other brands and save the Ouidad for when I really want my perfect curls. OK, I'm a guy, and I've never gone to such a girly place, but it turned out to be OK. Everybody was friendly, especially my stylist Bailey, who gave me a haircut and trimmed my beard. I have this bald spot on top of my head, and I was telling her all about it. There wasn't anything she could do about me losing my hair, she said. I'm a beautician, she told me, not a magician. The girl has a sense of humor and I liked that. Everybody at Salon Ambience was very nice and welcoming. I see why women like going there so much. It's also good for guys. I won a gift certificate through a non profit organization for hair service with Paul P. I was a little nervous because I have a regular person I see for my hair, and once you find someone you like, it's hard to switch. WELL I SWITCHED!!!!! Paul was great! I showed him a picture of the style I wanted, and he did it. I had been told by my other stylist that my hair was too thin or fine, and it couldn't be done. I have gone to Sarah to get my hair done and everytime i leave the salon i feel amazing . She did my hair for my wedding and it was incredible and stayed together for 2 days . I would recommend her for any special occasion. She does a great job with color, highlights, style cuts up do's anything you could think up, this girl can do . Must say this is one of the busiest salons in H.B! The fact that it's a one stop shop is great! My stylist is Maria (yes the best colorist around and is my Mother, lucky me) and she has been able to repair my hair after being tortured from a former employee where I use to work. Thank god for the new owner she is no longer there. I get a massage at the salon, then upstairs facials, waxing, and spray tanning from my wonderful employees upstairs!!! My extensions blend so naturally, the color came out beautiful, and the styling was flawless. My hair feels so much fuller, softer, and more glamorous while still looking natural. She really paid attention to detail and made sure everything looked perfect. I've already gotten so many compliments and feel so much more confident. She did such an amazing job cutting and styling my hair, I got compliments all afternoon afterwards on how great my hair looked! She's super sweet and her salon has such a cozy feel. It is located inside the salon suites next to the Chase bank in the plaza, towards the back. Parking is easy to find. Highly recommend checking her out if you're in the market for a new hairdresser, she's great and I'll definitely be going back!

My hair was extremely frizzy and damaged .. The Brazilian blowout and haircut has dramatically changed my appearance. Claudia is really nice to talk to and very honest which is great.
