My wife and daughter have been going here for a little while and it's been good. Today my 11 year old daughter had an appointment at 11am. At approximately 9:45am my wife started experiencing severe chest pain So we went to the ER, and got sent back to a room which is where I'm writing this from. Our phones aren't getting reception, so I asked my daughter to call and reschedule. They told her to give them our credit card information so they could charge us a no show fee which is "about half of what the bill would have been". So they wanted a $100 no show fee. I understand they lost a slot, but sometimes true emergencies come up. To ask an 11 year for their parent's credit card info seems, at the least, sleazy at the least. read more

My first visit was great, I am new to area and researched a couple of places and loved the owners story. I went in for haircut (more like trim). After asked if I could make appt for color. Fast forward to that appt. I confirmed with salon I would be at appt. stylist requested cash for tip so had to stop at bank to get cash and was exactly 11 mins late (for 2 hour appt). Was told that stylist had left and I would need to reschedule my appt. I will never go back OR recommend. Good luck paying your rent on your fancy place of business. read more

I recently moved to Greece and was looking for a salon that would do a quick cut and style to help my big thick hair fight the humidity. I looked at a few different places and finally chose Amissa based on location and the hair products they use (I love Keune.) I called in and got an appointment with Liz. The salon is pretty and clean; all of the staff were smiley and polite. Liz was very personable and professional. She shampooed, cut and styled my hair just the way I asked. I was concerned about the cut at first because some other stylists I've seen have been too afraid to cut out the "bulk" in my hair and I leave with only the length shortened. Liz totally understood my needs and my hair is no longer a big puffy mess. The best part? For a shampoo, cut and style they only charged me $35! Any salon in the city is $50+ In conclusion, this place is nice, Liz is great, and I'll definitely be back. I did go back and this time my experience was drastically different. I was 2 minutes late and apologized but then sat in the waiting room for another 10 minutes. When Liz cut my hair she seemed rushed and did not do anything like the first time I saw her, even though I asked for the exact same thing. When I glanced at the waiting room and saw a girl staring me down I realized she was waiting for Liz, which explains the rush job. I still appreciated the trim but it wasn't what I asked for, and I won't be returning. read more

Liz did an amazing job cutting my hair! I was a little nervous because I was planning on cutting quite a bit off but I left feeling fantastic. I went on a Friday morning and it was very calm and quiet, great atmosphere. I will definitely be going back for my next cut. read more

Very trendy-looking place. It's nicely decorated and clean. I called in very last minute for a haircut and coloring and luckily was able to get in due to a cancellation. I had never been there before. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and offered coffee until I could be seen. Sabrina was my stylist and she was wonderful; she was friendly and personable. I loved how she cut and colored my hair. As a nice gift (I think because it was my first visit), I was handed a small gift bag and it had a "makeover spray" in it. It was a nice gesture and I appreciated it. read more

The Best. I have gone to many high end salons in Rochester and kept leaving depressed at how long it would take to grow out the mess that was just done to my hair. Hairdressers have a tendency to not listen to what you actually want - and give you what you think you need. Scott Miller ruined my hair for years with all of their razor cutting. I decided to try Salon Amissa after seeing some friends and family use them without crying. I see Michele Mule and my dreams have been fulfilled. Michele colors and cuts my hair and I have never had so many compliments on the natural color and the great cuts. She knows exactly what to do when you show her a picture and never goes overboard. I have never once gripped the seat under the cape or cried in the car on the way home. Salon Amissa is a fun environment and we always have a lot of laughs... it's like you would expect a ladies hair salon to be. I look forward to going to my appointment and I trust that I will walk out of there feeling beautiful. read more

Came in for the first time today for a trim and met with Liz, she was definitely experienced and super friendly, I already booked my next appointment for color!
