I had done research on blonde specialists in the area, and I found one at Salon + Co. I talked to "B" over DM, and she said she could "totally" achieve white blonde with me. On 3/30/24, "B" had turned my hair charcoal/green. She ended up leaving the salon without an apology or a goodbye. The owner and manager offered to try to "fix" my hair. After taking the toner out, the owner tried to gaslight me into thinking that I "must have had" red hair at one point - I have not - because she was pulling red/pink out of my hair. They redid my highlights and toner to "fix" the pink, and after 8 hours, it was "done." They charged me over $200 for "product" expenses. I naively paid. When I got home, I realized my hair was very dry & frizzy. Not the normal I'm used to. A few days later, a bridal stylist noticed that my hair was very damaged & still pink from Salon & Co. I DMed the owner, Kenzie, to get a refund so I could go get my hair fixed. She refused. "No refunds." After some back and forth, she said she would no longer talk to me over DM. On 4/9/24, I went to the salon to show her my damaged/pink hair and to ask for a refund. I also showed her pictures of my hair quality from before, and what I had initially asked for on 3/30/24 compared to what I had been given. I asked her what she would do if she was me. She became angry and defensive. She acknowledged that my hair is not what I asked for, but that they still would not refund me. She then kicked me out of the salon (almost wouldn't let me grab my belongings either) & blocked me on social media. read more

BRIDAL PARTIES BEWARE! This salon owner is not interested in making you feel beautiful for the upcoming special day! All she wants is your money! Let me first start out by saying this is the first time I have ever done a review on a company. My daughter in law to be had to first put down almost $900 to reserve her wedding date for hair and makeup for herself, mother of the bride, me (mother of the groom) and her bridesmaids! Red flag #1. The contract states that at basically that moment you will NOT get your deposit back for canceling appointment unless it is 60 days prior to date of services. Hmmm...so, even if she canceled a week after booking with this salon, she would still only receive 50% back? Wow. We just had our trial run for the wedding at the salon on Tuesday, Aug. 23rd. 1 month prior to the wedding. We really had no concerns bc somehow this salon had high ratings on The Knot? I honestly am having a very difficult time putting in words how awful the three of us looked after our trial run. My daughter in law to be had hair falling out (see pics) and her braids were completely uneven (one started at the top of her head and the other side was the middle of her head) Her actual eyelash was put on upside down. Huh? Is this for real? The mother of the bride's hair didn't even hold the curl by the time she drove home from the salon. She warned them that her hair NEVER holds a curl. She also had only half an eyelash on one eye. Makeup, not impressed on her. Now on to me (mother of the groom) I sat down in the chair and they began using the exact same makeup colors on me as the mother of the bride. Also, they attempted to do my hair in the exact same style. No! So, she tried to put it up for me in a tossled low bun. I originally said I wanted a side bun. She said she couldn't do that. When she was done, I literally did everything from crying in her chair. My hair looked crunchy, ratted, and far from smooth and finished. She kept saying things like, "on the wedding day I can make it better and with more volume". My make up? HORRIBLE! I am 50 years old and have very good skin. I literally looked at least 10 years older after my make up was done. It was so caked on to my face that any little line was so accentuated. There was actually a ring around my lips of my white skin underneath all the orange foundation and powder! No lip liner and I even had orange makeup going down my neck. It was just awful! I came home to my husband saying, "absolutely not! I would never let you walk out of the house looking like that on the day of our son's wedding!" I also had coworkers laughing at my pictures saying I looked like I was being prepped for my funeral. Now on to speaking to the salon owner. It took her almost a week to get back to me. When she finally did the conversation did not end well. I started out very calm and told her that I was hoping she could help because we had a horrible experience with our trial. Just a note The salon made $330 from us the day of the trial not including any of our tips! I asked her for our deposit back of the $900 because we do not want their services for the wedding day. I explained everything that happened that day From our make up to our hair disasters. Her response was that she was sorry and would like another chance to do our hair and make up. She said she believes in "second chances." I told her unfortunately, my daughter-in-law to be does not get a second chance on her actual wedding day therefore, we do not trust them to do our hair and make up. I told her, as a respectful business owner, she knows the right thing would be to review the pictures and refund the $900. She said that unless there's anything else she can do for me there is nothing more to discuss on the phone. She said she will not be returning the $900. As I became a little more upset and told her she knows that this isn't right in her heart to do that to someone and that if she doesn't return the money we will go further such as contacting Help me Hank on channel 4 news. While I was speaking that sentence she began saying," i'm sorry you're breaking up I can't hear you right now..." really right now? I thought to myself, "You are on your business phone not a cell phone and she is beginning to play that game?" She told me there is nothing she can do for me and that again if there is not anything she can do then she was hanging up the phone. I told her at that point that she is only in this business to steal people's money and that Karma will come back one day because she knows what she has done is wrong. I told her the problem doesn't lie with us, the problem are her girls who work in the salon. They are not "make up artists" or even professionals for that matter. I had to wait about 15 min for my make up appt. She wasn't prepared and didn't have any of her own make up, she had to use what was there. I was told I would have air brush make up but they do not do that. I had to ask for the false eyelashes, which were included in the price. She didn't have tweezers so had to put the eyelash pieces on with her fingers. I had to trim the lashes, the ones near my nose were longer than the ones in the middle. I had to tell her to use eyeliner to cover up the false eyelash pieces along my lash line. I had to ask for eyeliner on the bottom lashes. She did not use any mascara. I had a picture to try and replicate and my eyes looked nothing like the picture. The girl was super nice but it took so long I was late getting ready to go out. She said she wouldn't charge me as much for all the problems but she still charged me $70. read more

They literally let me walk out looking crazy promising to fix it the next week for free because it would be too harsh on my hair to fix the same day. I was very clear with my stylist about how I felt & if we couldn't keep the same color I had & healthiness I would rather just leave it & do a trim but was reassured that it would be fine & she could do my roots & some other uneven parts of my hair & my hair was fine to handle it. 5 hours later I then left with different colored roots & severly damaged hair! read more

I was looking for a new place to get my hair highlighted and found Salon & Co. Honestly, I was pretty excited about this place. The online appointment was easy and I received many reminders about my appointment. However, I was not impressed by the stylists- not proper mask wearing and I was not pleased with the way my hair was done. I even came back the next day to have my hair fixed. I tried to communicate with the stylist about what I wanted and it felt like I was ignored and/or rushed. They were nice about adding more highlights in for no extra cost the next day but it didn't seem like they tried very hard. My hair is still spotty and some noticeable mistakes where there is whole sections missed and not evenly dyed/highlighted. In transparency, I suggest only going here if you're looking to get simple things done to your hair. It was to expensive for me to not be pleased with my hair. read more

The price is wayyy too high for young stylists who just graduated. I am used to paying $125-$160 for highlights and low lights with a seasoned (20+ years out) stylist. The girl who did my hair was very nice but was a recent graduate in 2019. Not only did my highlights take FOUR HOURS (!!!)....Wayyy too long to be in a salon for highlights.... but I was quoted initially $295 for highlights and lowlights. I said can we just do the highlights? Those were $185. Then after my four hour appointment, I was charged another $20 twice for "bowl color" $40 added on (this is usually complimentary or built in at other salons, so it was nickel and dime) ...so after tip, my hair was $260. This is extremely expensive for this area (this is a strip mall, not a downtown city!) and for the level of expertise of the stylists. The stylist had to have help from another stylist at the bowl. They both were very sweet but I cannot justify the cost and the time spent. I had two girls blowing dry my hair at the end because we were there well after closing. Also, they moved to a new suite in the same strip, and there was construction junk in the salon --back wall--visible to everyone -- not exactly sightly when you're spending this kind of money and time. At least cover it with a tarp or something, move it to a storage closet, or point your clients in another direction. I wish I had found my forever salon because my hair did turn out nice and just how I asked, and the location is within a mile of my house, but it's not an upkeep I would like to afford at this price (money and time). read more
