We recently visited Drybar Sarasota to get our hair done for a friend's 50th birthday celebration…read more The experience started off pleasant, but unfortunately went downhill quickly. Once we were seated, we were never offered champagne--something that's always been part of the Drybar experience and something we look forward to. Out of the three of us, only one person actually looked like they had a proper blowout. We even showed friends our "after" photos and they thought they were the before pictures. When we went up to the counter, Christian noticed that our birthday girl's hair wasn't finished at all. The stylist kept insisting her hair "wouldn't hold a curl," but Christian completely redid it--and it came out beautiful. We are very grateful for him. The owner was there and mentioned multiple times that they were "getting ready for busy season," which made us assume most of the stylists working that day were brand new. While we fully understand that new stylists need training, we should not have been charged full price for an experience that was far from Drybar quality. I also paid $15 for an add-on that was supposed to help with frizz, and it felt like I got about three sprays of product. My hair frizzed immediately after walking outside. We've had great experiences at other Drybar locations, but unfortunately we cannot recommend this one.

I changed my hairstylist recently due to a change of location. After about 6 visits I noticed…read moresomething off with the colors in my hair due to highlighting. I saw a special on instagram and booked it. The stylist confirmed that my hair needed correction but wasn't able to fix the problem. I was referred to Irene. She had no idea what plan of action would be needed before I showed up. Irene's expertise as a hairstylist was impressive to say the least. She listened carefully to obtain a clear understanding of what I wanted my hair to look like. Irene came up with a plan of action to reverse the prior mistakes. She even moved a client because it was going to take extra time. She chose the proper products and used the necessary techniques to achieve success. I was thrilled with the outcome! Irene displayed her knowledge of continuing professional development throughout the appointment. We ran out of time so I am booked for a haircut/styling soon. I am excited again about my hair color and looking forward to a fresh style. If you have hair issues and you want a caring, listening master stylist then I highly recommend Irene Coleman.

I booked two blow dry appointments at Sip and Dry for my sister's rehearsal dinner--one of which was supposed to include a ponytail for my sister, the bride. I chose this blow dry bar because a ponytail is clearly listed as one of the available styles under the blowout section on their website. When we got there, they kept the bride waiting around for 20 minutes before finally informing us that they "didn't feel comfortable" doing a ponytail because they didn't have enough girls trained in that style. Seriously, a hair and beauty business with 6-8 creative professionals on staff at the time, and no one could do a simple ponytail? On the day of her rehearsal dinner! The bride ended up crying in the chair, and I started crying too, and no one working there cared or showed the slightest bit of empathy. When I expressed my disappointment on the way out, the girl at checkout (don't know her name, but she had pink hair) dismissively told me that ponytails are considered an "updo," and they didn't have enough girls trained in a ponytail to do my sister's. When I pointed out that ponytails are listed under the blowout section on their own website, she just looked away and didn't respond. No acknowledgment, no apology--just silent, rude indifference. The ponytail didn't include any pinning of hair, which is what they define as an "updo". They ruined what should have been a joyful, memorable part of my sister's wedding weekend. The place had a very strange vibe, was completely unprofessional, and I just can't understand how the people working are so bad at interacting with humans. I would never recommend Sip and Dry to anyone--especially not for anything remotely special.

They offer several "sips" including seasonal sips. The blowouts are always consistent and if you get a membership any extra you get during the month are only 40.00. All the stylists are very talented and nice and their shampoo scalp massages are the best. Also there is a private parking lot which comes in handy in downtown St. Pete.
