We tried walk in the second visit but they didn't have any availability right when we walked up. We had to wait 30 minutes but they added her in for the time so that she could walk back over and get her hair done. Convenient location. Daughter can get her hair done and momma can get her wine on! I waited 15 till after my appointment time till I started getting my hair washed, if I didn't go to the front to ask it was not going to happen. I recently had maternity photos taken, and knowing they were going to be done outside in the brutal heat, I wanted to get my makeup professionally done so it wouldn't immediately melt off. Let me tell you, that was absolutely the right call! Amber did my makeup, and asked what kind of look I was going for. I told her I like to focus on my eyes, but I didn't want them to look SO dramatic (considering this was a maternity photo session, not a night out on the town). She did a smokey eye with brown tones that worked perfectly. Amber really listened to what I envisioned, and wanted to make sure I was happy with the end result. I came here in September before my sisters wedding for a blowout/style and make-up. I don't really remember the name of the hairstylist as she was not particularly friendly or talkative, but she did a decent job on my hair... However, I specifically came here to BRAG about AMBER! She was absolutely PHENOMENAL. She made me feel so welcomed, and she was extremely friendly. I gave her the reigns and let her decide what to do with my make-up. All I told her was the color of my dress and that I did not want to look "too made-up". She hit the nail on the head and I got so many compliments. She was so amazing! Betsy, you are an angel. You did so great on my hair!! Do you guys ever just feel like you need a good wash and blow dry? I started doing this back in DC a couple years ago and decided that this was something that I was going to to continue doing to treat myself. I try to go at least once a month to treat myself or every other month. When I walked in Betsy was already waiting for me :) She was super polite and did such an amazing job on my hair. I have very thick hair and long hair so it can be a lot to handle. However, Betsy did amazing! I was highly impressed. She washed my hair and just let me relax I even got a nice head massage. She brought me over and I told her I wasn't a fan of the curling iron, but I wanted my hair to have some volume. She used these little pins to roll up the pieces and when she was done, she released the pins and my hair was beautiful! It also lasted a couple days, which is awesome! Highly recommend ! I thought the makeup artist did a very good job, but my hair looked ridiculous. I asked for curls, not ringlets. My husband called me Shirley Temple...not what I was going for!! Let's just say... Blo is my little piece of heaven for my hair! I started going here three months ago, and it was my first time visiting a blow out bar. Before my first appt I called to make sure they could do African American hair, they said yes. A little nervous I booked my appt and Taylor did not disappoint! I was in and out in just over an hour and my hair looked amazing. I bought the member package that day no hesitation. Recently there were some corporate policy changes that had me questioning whether to even keep my membership. On my visit yesterday, I expressed my concerns to Karley and she fixed it right away for me! I was so relieved bc this is literally my favorite place and would be bummed if I had to cancel. Amazing and quick blow outs, great customer service and the salon is located in a convenient location. I've had three different stylists do my hair and they have all been greattttt! I do recommend the humidity serum for Florida! I can't remember the name of it but I add it on every time. My hair lasts 1.5 weeks completely straight & no additional heat on it, which is amazing with my super naturally curly hair. The one time I didn't get it, my hair only lasted 2 days, got frizzy after one rooftop bar visit. My hair has even grown since I started going here! Thanks!! Got my hair done here before my birthday dinner. I got a deep conditioning treatment and a blowout. I booked my appointment the morning of and they were really accommodating which was great because most places won't take a same day appointment. My hair looked beautiful and I felt great. Unfortunately due to a thunderstorm (which is out of both my and the salon's control) the humidity made my curls deflate and I lost the volume on the crown of my head that usually comes with a blow out. Not abnormal given the conditions though. I just wish I were able to enjoy it more considering what I payed for it. Again though, not their fault in the slightest. With a quickly approaching event and not much time to plan and get ready, I decided to get my hairs done. I called ahead to verify that they had a stylist that was capable of doing my hair, it's thick and curly and I have wefted micro links, the girl assured me that it's not a problem at all and they are looking forward to my blow out. When I got there every one was very nice, the lady that washed my hair was not thorough at all, there was still build up on my scalp. She started parting my hair to de tangle it and her face made it clear that she had no clue as to what she was doing. She started brushing it from the middle when I explained that she needed to start at my ends and work her way up- she argued that she was...... she called over reinforcements while I'm watching her face just look like defeat and overwhelmed. I've been to plenty blo bars so I know how this process is supposed to go..... The girl she called over literally had half of my hair done while she was still struggling with the same section (she also pulled several tracks loose and didn't say anything! The girl who came to help ended up having to do my whole head over..... 2.5 hours and $60 later I left...... wow! I was in Tampa for work and had some very important meetings I had to attend. I made a 7am appt well in advance for a blow out and extensions placement. I arrived on time and was taken back immediately. The hairdresser had no clue I was there for extension placement and seemed shocked when I mentioned it. She washed my hair, (even that felt off), not a good scrub, didn't scrub the sides and the conditioner did not feel right. It was very dry feeling, not conditioned properly. I thought ok, maybe the product is not that great. Then we go to the blow dry. First off, the purpose of a blow out is to achieve a full volume look. You lift the hair from the root and blow dry it. The hairdresser did not do this. Infact, she used her hands 90% of the time and pulled down on my hair. Very flat and frizzy. (Horrible). Then we get to the best part. The extension placemat. This girl had no clue how to properly install extensions. I mean none. I had to tell her you have to tease it so it has a place to sit. The extensions were bunched up, not tight and not properly installed. I realized this was not her specialty so I said ok, let's do with out the extensions because this is not going well. So she starts with the curls. My goodness, she doesn't start from the top and curl it down. She starts rolling a flat iron. My hair looked awful. I finally asked her to stop after 45 mins. I had to rush back to the hotel, rewash my hair and do it myself. A complete and utter waste of time. It was horrible and made me late to where I needed to be. I would not recommend this place. First of all, let's talk about the fact that this place has an app! You can schedule appointments on the go and they do as early as 7 am and as late as 9 pm! Another great thing: AMAZING LOCATION! Literally right next to Cooper's Hawk! So if you have a date or meeting the girls out for drinks you can do your hair and walk next door! Next let's talk about pricing. The blow out which includes flat iron is $40 regardless of length. This is great for me because I have long curly hair and most places charge extra 10$ for flat iron or length. When you walk in the staff is super friendly. They asked me if I wanted a drink right away. I opted for a water but I would assume they have other selections. The ambiance is nice. The decor is very modern. I was told they also do waxing and nails in the back but I didn't check it out. My hairdresser was Evelyn. She did an amazing job and I will definitely be back here again. By the way, can't forget the music they have it on Usher pandora station and you hear all the great old school hits. Overall great place. The front staff was very sweet but the hair dresser was not. Not sure if she was having a bad day but she was not welcoming at all. When I arrived and asked for advice she would respond with an attitude. Also my hair didn't come out the way I wanted it to, I ended up fixing it myself when I arrived home. When I asked her to fix my extension she responded saying that's normal when it wasn't. I've had my hair done by blow bar several times at different locations and never had this experience. She also did not blow dry my hair correctly. I honestly just wanted to leave and do it myself because of her attitude and just the whole experience.
