I'm so happy I came across this place, and came across Jamie! She is one of the most amazing people you'll ever meet, and truly is a master stylist. She is the first hairdresser to give me exactly what I was looking for! I was a dark brown wanting to go to peanut butter bronde and used to hair dressers telling me oh that's impossible basically, Jamie came in on her day off and stayed till 9 to accomplish my wishes with my thigh length hair. I was so pleased with the result, and not to mention, Jamie is amazingly experienced, so I was able to get some awesome tips and knowledge of my own hair! The salon is ridiculously gorgeous with French vintage design! All the ladies were super nice, and it was a wonderful experience. I will always go to Jamie for my hair needs. Ask for Drew Teal! I have been getting my hair cut by him since 2003, starting in Seattle. I moved to Portland in 2011 and tried just one other salon down here before deciding driving back to Seattle for haircuts with Drew was worth the trip. When I learned he had moved to a salon in Salem I couldn't believe it! A one-hour commute instead of a three-hour commute to see him is like winning the jackpot! I'm not even a passionate hair person that gets color and styles it AT ALL. The most I am willing to commit to my hair is blowdrying it, so it has to have a fabulous cut or else it would be a disaster. Drew understands my lifestyle and knows exactly how to cut my thick-in-places-thin-in-places-straight-in-places-wavy-in-places hair. He also cut all of my friends' hair, ranging from super-straight, fine, and short to thick and wavy Latina hair with color and we were always happy. Plus he is super friendly and easy to talk to. Salon Argent was recommended to me by my son who had taken his teenage boy there to have his hair straightened. I was able to schedule with Jamie the same day I called. I needed a very short haircut as quickly as possible due to treatment for cancer--I wanted to transition from my usual chin-length bob with bangs to the prospect of losing my hair in a few weeks. Jamie was amazing! I watched her finish cutting and styling the client before me and boy, was I impressed. The woman is like a real-life Edward Scissorhands--hair and scissors flying while she snipped and razored and blow-dried and scrunched and cut some more--for a beautiful finished hairstyle that suit the client perfectly. She did the same for me, all while we had a wonderful conversation. I left feeling like I had made a friend for life. I have been looking around for a place to get my hair done for a long time. I had been really wanting to get a balayage look and heard this place was really good. I decided to give it a try. I had Colinda do my hair and I loved her spunky personality right away. She was down to earth and gave me honest opinions on what would look good. I felt my hair was in good hands and wasn't wrong. It looked great and I love it! It has the perfect amount of color, perfect layering (which I feel is usually messed up on with my hair) and it looks healthy. There was a small patch of blonde on my bangs that stuck out because we were going to go side swept but I decided straight across is what I wanted. I am new to Salem and have tried several "Recommended " hair dressers . I found Salon Argent on Yelp and called them for a color and cut with Jaimie who I read in the reviews was very good . Being that I was looking for an ASAP appointment she had another employee, Colinda call me back within the hour and was able to fit me in the very next day and it was the best surprise ! She listened to my ideas and offered her professional advice ( with a positive attitude ) on both my color and cut . When I lived in Seattle, Drew was the only person I would let cut my hair. Then when I lived away from Seattle, Drew was the only person I would let cut my hair. For ten years, Drew was the only person I would let cut my hair (with the exception of a short lived period when I decided to try cutting my own hair, which was a disaster and only Drew could fix it).
