I was charged $215 for black roots that were maybe an inch grown. Their website shows that it should have been $65 less so I was obviously overcharged. Then, I find a spot that was missed at the root. I needed a place that I could go to regularly for my roots and trims but this just convinced me to buy the salon quality and do it at home. It's black. Wild part is, she has black hair too so I thought she'd be good at it. Not $245 good (with tip bc I always tip). read more

I contacted them around two weeks ago looking for an appointment to get very light strawberry blonde hair. I had previously dyed my brown hair red at home and it had since faded so instead of redoing it every couple of weeks I decided to try to get it lighter. They scheduled me with Abby and after looking at her Instagram photos of her clients I was extremely excited to go in for my appointment! My appointment was two days ago and this photo was taken about an hour after I left the salon. When I got there Abby and I went over what I was looking for and what was hopefully possible. She was extremely patient and didn't try to push me into doing anything else even though my goal would most likely take a lot to accomplish in one appointment. I was there for a total of three and a half hours and received exactly what I was wanting! Abby knew exactly what she was doing and used products that didn't irritate my skin or nose which I thought was impossible before. She was also extremely humble and didn't even let me know that we were getting right to where I wanted until we were already there and I saw it for myself! Abby is amazing! I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH LUXE SALON & LASH BAR! I worked with Shelby, who is so considerate of someone like me. I feel a lot of fear working with new people who are not familiar with thick / long hair, but the confidence of Shelby going right into it with me (I got a thinned out asymmetrical haircut) was so powerful, I felt at ease right away. Shelby checked in with me consistently throughout the haircutting session, and helped to support me achieve the hair style I was looking for, and was so encouraging and informative. Shelby is big on understanding the impact and what it means to change a hairstyle so dramatically, and she met me exactly where I was at. I also REALLY appreciate how much INFORMATION she gave me! It was extremely empowering to learn more about my hair, how to take care of my hair, and navigating even bigger haircuts in the future. Even though I am moving away from Oregon soon, I will be coming back just to get a haircut with Shelby (I've never found a better hairstylist - I always have been treated weird at hairstylists, she is the absolute best one I have ever found, and that's after 30 years of getting my haircut done). I chose not to get my hair done at Luxe. At the initial consult I I was given a lecture regarding box dyes. In my sixties, just wanted my hair fixed, didn't need a lecture. Believe at 65 I have done everything imaginable with my hair, when I walk in I usually need a fix not a lecture. read more

I'm obsessed with this salon. Not only do Shelby and Jessica do brilliant hair (I don't have experience with the other stylists) they do amazing lashes as well. I've never had lash extensions and Shelby got me in a few weeks before my wedding to ensure I didn't have any sort of reaction with them. It was very relaxing and a beautiful space. Conversation flows easy with them! Come my wedding day, my eyelashes were amazing and Shelby did my makeup as well! Shelby is a triple threat, and obviously did well as our wedding photos were featured in a magazine. I cannot recommend this salon enough. This is my absolute favorite salon in all of Salem! All of the girls here are super sweet and highly skilled. The atmosphere is very clean and chic, which makes getting any service done that much more enjoyable. To book appointments you need to either leave a voicemail message on their salon phone (they do not have a receptionist but are outstanding at responding promptly) or you can book through the Vagaro app which will send you appointment reminders. I personally book with Jessica for my hair and lashes and am always so happy with how my services turn out! Another tip is to have your appointments pre-booked if you can, as this salon is popular and very busy! read more

I had ugly bleach blonde hair color that needed attention. I found Shelby on yelp. I loved her work and decided to make an appointment with her. When I initially met her she was talking negatively about another customer and I found it unprofessional to do this in front of me. Aside from this I found her personality to be pleasant. The procedure took about an hour and a half and I payed $275 in total. I went from a bleach blonde hair color to a smoky dark color. I initially loved Shelby's work however, I am rating this place a one star because the color lasted about a week. I did not think it was worth paying &275 for a week long hair color change. read more

Super cute salon. I went to Jessica and she did a great job on my hair. With my work hours I can only go on weekends and unfortunately if you cancel an appointment, it takes 5-6 weeks to get a new one booked. Also, I felt the price was a little high and because I have to get my hair done every 5-6 weeks, I'm not sure I can continue going to the salon. read more

Since I moved to Salem I've struggled to find a decent stylist that understands what I like. The last place I tried I left very upset with the service and skill. Not with Luxe though! They were accommodating with the schedule by letting me move up my time, called me and emailed me back right away, and did an excellent job with my hair! I have been a extremely paranoid about getting my hair cut pretty much the entirety of my life due to a rather traumatic incident in childhood that left me looking like a chubby little boy with a Jew fro. But I knew that I needed to get my hair actually cut, it has been a long time coming and much of my hair was damaged. I needed someone who understood how to cut curly hair so that it would still look good. I am soooooooooooooo glad I found Shelby! Shelby Rothmeyer cuts, colors, and styles my hair. She understands what I want, but also thoughtfully discusses what types of cuts, colors, and styles will enhance my look. She has always been right about what works for my hair and my style. She also does my lash extensions. I have very difficult lashes - I have many and they curve the wrong way. She is patient and yet fast. They have always lasted longer than she predicted and the fills are easy. The prices are more than reasonable. I travel from Central Oregon because they prices for the same services in CO are ridiculously high. It is worth the trip. She provides lots of useful information about upkeep and gets me in for all my services when I need to see her. The salon is beautiful. I wish Shelby and her business partner, Alexa Lee Bell, would decorate my home for me! Love this place! read more
