When I compare the quality of hair cuts and styling, this Aveda Salon might be cheap compared to Juut in Palo Alto, CA. Yet, from getting a consistent hair cut or color, never happens. My bridesmaids and I all went here for our hair and even the best hair out of the bunch of us was just okay. My hair was easily the worst it has ever looked, I provided a picture of a simple hairstyle that I could have done myself for free but wanted a little pampering on my wedding day, huge mistake. $100 later and my bridesmaid had to completely redo my hair when we got back to the venue. When I went back over to the "master stylist" to voice my concern over my hair falling out of place literally 2 minutes after getting out of the chair, she repeatedly said she "didn't have time for this." Another one of my bridesmaids had her hair done by the same stylist and she also went home and redid it herself after she had already had the stylist fix her hair once before we left. I was in Davenport last week for a wedding and had the last minute notion that I should treat myself to having someone else style my hair! Quite to my surprise, this Aveda salon just so happened to be a mile from my hotel. When I first called just before opening, they were booked for the day but they were nice enough to take my name and number just in case anything opened up. Just my luck, they called back 15 minutes later with an opening. The follow up and customer service was outstanding. Angie was my stylist. She was super friendly and talented and gave a killer scalp massage. When it came to styling my hair, she listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly what I was looking for. also! Had bad experience there twice with two different stylists. First one didn't take time to listen to what I wanted and over-layered my fine hair. The second one was even worse. She totally disregarded what I wanted and even the photos I brought with me. I ended up with a sloppy cut with no style. I had some short pieces where it shouldn't have been cut and a couple longer strands in back that got overlooked. She was also rough when blow-drying it and either pulled it or kept getting it caught in something. She used a lot of product on my hair, making it feel heavy and dirty right away. I couldn't tell how poorly it was cut until I got home and washed it. I used to have long hair, about mid-back length. Now I have to go somewhere else to repair the damage they did and hoping to keep as much length as possible, maybe to the top of the shoulders for it to look better. read more

I am newish to the area and had a not so great experience at a different salon so I have been hesitant to find a new place to get my haircut. My coworker recommended Salon Aria and I went today for a haircut. When I walked in the salon I was warmly greeted and offered hot tea. The stylist Nora took her time talking to me and getting my input. Nora did a fantastic job and gave me so much confidence! After my cut she even touched up my makeup. I had my first experience at Salon Aria last weekend. I went with my now sister-in-law and the rest of the bridal party to have our hair/makeup/nails done before my brother's wedding. The staff was so gracious - they let us set up a cart with snacks and drinks for the wedding party while we were all getting ready and they worked quickly to get us all taken care of; though, we never felt rushed. Amanda did my hair and she was amazing! She knew exactly what I wanted as I described it and it turned out beautifully. It was the best up-do I have ever had. It was exactly what I wanted and looked amazing. I received a ton of compliments on my hair after the wedding. The bride and mother of the bride both had their hair and makeup done and they looked gorgeous. I don't live in town so I don't know when I'll be able to go back but I highly recommend them! read more

After living all across the country the past 10 years, I have experience many salons (and saloons) and I must say, Salon Aria is one of the better ones I have visited. The staff are courteous and welcoming and Ellie has been my stylist since my first visit to Aria and she is what continues to bring me back. The only negative is that the price for a men's haircut is rather high but what are you going to do when you have a great stylist! read more

Went to the location on middle Road in Bettendorf for a pedicure. The technician was awesome but the massage chair was painfully uncomfortable. The massage part of the chair is way too hard and the seat cushion is also hard. Love the fact they have one chair per room. It really makes for a nice quiet tranquil experience. read more

Salon Aria is by far the best salon and Aveda salon I have ever been to! I no longer live in the area, sadly, but every time I come back to Iowa, I make sure I have an appointment and get my hair done by Samantha. I have tried a few Aveda salons where I live now and haven't been happy with any of them, yet! I would highly recommend Samantha for a cut- she will listen to you and make your hair feel great when it's all said and done!! read more

I had my hair done for my brother's wedding in June 2011 at this salon. I am not from this area so my sister-in-law (the bride) made the appointments for the bridal party. I was running a little late for the appointment because I wasn't quite sure where it was located, but I called the salon and they were very gracious, giving me directions and letting my stylist know where I was. My stylist was great - easygoing, fun to talk to, listened to my requests - and my updo turned out just as I wanted it. I felt the prices were reasonable for an updo as well. I have a lot of hair (long and thick) so it always is a challenge for it to stay put, but my style lasted all day and night. I was too lazy to take out the 60+ bobby pins after the long day so I slept in the updo and it was still together for the most part in the morning! I attempted to make a hair appointment when I first moved here in May. The 1st appointment I could get was 8 weeks later. I get my hair done every 4 weeks. The owner told me they were losing a stylist & that's why I couldn't get an earlier appointment but, once I was an established client I could get in much sooner. Basically, they weren't taking NEW clients. Being a former Aveda client I was forced to go to a competitor. Then, New Years Eve, I went to this salon again at 4pm attempting to get a manicure. Disappointed in service for haircuts and processing. I had been referred to salon by 2 of my friends. I've seen Brook about 6 times and will not be back. Last time I had a haircut I was walking out door in 29 minutes. She barely got my hair wet much less wash it. There was no massage. Water was extremely hot, had to tell her and that ended the hair washing. She acted disgusted. The cut is not even to anyone with untrained eye. I could have gotten a better hair cut for $8.00. The first time I went to her she did a fantastic job. Washed and nice massage. Highlights were perfect and cut was one of the best I experienced. My friends have told me about how the head massage was always wonderful. That they always get offered a little touch up on their make up. They both have purchased your products. I have been getting my hair done at Aria for about 6 yrs. I love the haircolor.It does not make your head itch like many other places.It is all natural products. It is always clean and neat,very good service. There is an older lady behind the front desk that has worked there since I have gone there,and she is very rude. I was a new client, never been to the salon before and new to the quad city area. I had an appointment scheduled with someone named 'Jess', at noon on a Thursday. I arrived early for my 12:00pm appointment and waited 10 minutes past before going to the front desk and asking if there was someone else who could take my appointment. The desk staff said she hasn't come in yet and I was her first appointment of the day. Not a very helpful answer to my question and There wasn't any glimmer of finding a solution to help me out. I would have been more understanding if Jess had a client before me and was running late but the blatant disrespect for her salons reputation, her professionalism and clients time is just embarrassing. I will not be going back to waste anymore time nor would I recommend this business to anyone. I did however find that the salon 'Pure' right down the road from salon aria was fabulous, professional and they understood my frustration and got me in right away for an appointment same day. absolutely loved my experience at Pure. read more

I will not return. I have not had a great time trying to find a good hairstylist, most places are difficult to get into and are full of young and immature staff. Unfortunately Salon Aria is no different. The staff is very unprofessional. As I was having my hair shampooed all I could hear from their back room were a bunch of their staff, being very loud and giggling about very inappropriate things, not too mention it smelled like tuna or fish, My hairstylist , that I had seemed confident enough until I started asking questions, thats when I could tell that she wasn't sure about what to do to get the look I wanted, that or she just didn't want to do it, because the whole time I felt rushed, and the brush she used on me was full of hair already that WAS NOT mine. I thought maybe it was just a bad match of me, a new client to stylist, but as I listened to the other ladies around me they too could only talk about partying, and how bad they were hungover. It's especially disappointing for the prices that they charge, you would expect a more sophisticated staff. My hair turned out fine, but "fine"-- I can get that anywhere. read more
