I really wanted to like this salon and gave them multiple chances. I initially went to get my reddish-brown hair to a solid brown even if it wasn't exact to my inspo pic I just wanted the red gone. After the first toning, my hair faded to orange in a week and the stylist admitted fault. They tried toning again with extensions, but it also faded within a couple weeks with only two hair washes in cold water with appropriate shampoo. On a third visit, another toner failed. On the fourth, they tried a semi permanent, but I ended up back at reddish-brown. After four failed treatments, my hair is now extremely porous and will take a long time to heal. Meanwhile, I went to another salon, and they fixed my color and extensions in one session. Unlike other salons that offer refunds when treatments fail, this salon didn't offer any refund, even after my first $500 session that faded in a week. Given all this, I sincerely hope they reconsider and offer at least a partial refund, especially for the first session, which faded so quickly. And I spent over $2500 there in a month. So disappointed and they are more than likely going to keep my money since all they did was just keep reapplying endless toners and color just to make it look orange even after 4 chances. I've visited three salons that provided curly cuts. It was a hard process as many stylists claimed to work with all textures but the pictures they advertised said differently. This was my second time going to Salon Avenue and decided to give it a try again but this time with someone else. After I explained to her my dilemma (long story), plus I told her that I trusted her and she had my permission to do whatever she thought was best she began cutting away. I will be honest as I sat there I was so afraid to look at the mirror in front of me because I didn't know what to expect! So, when she finished I saw it, I was shocked in a beautiful way. While my hair was a lot shorter than I expected, my curls looked amazing! I felt lovely she also encouraged me and gave me some ideas to color my grays just to elevate my style. The owner took the time to speak with me extensively for my initial consultation and recommended the stylist that she thought would be best for me. I came in as a new client with aging/hair thinning problems and overall unhealthy hair. Amy, my stylist, does an excellent job with explaining hair health, products to assist and adapt with your deficits and suggestions on what works best cut/color wise to achieve your overall goal while being realistic and honest about what will work or not work for your hair health, type, texture and thickness. I will continue to be a loyal and repeat customer. It is a little pricey for my budget being that my stylist is a top tier stylist with years of training, expertise and knowledge.. but it is well worth budgeting for, for the quality of service, advice and expertise that I have received in my hair care journey. I love my cut, color and look leaving each time feeling more confident and hopeful that I can have beautiful hair while growing older and experiencing thinning based off of finding the right professional who knows what they are doing.
