My now husband and I had booked our venue, I booked my stylist, we booked our baker and a few other vendors nearly a year out in advance. I had some situations including my venue selling and cancelling us 6 months in, my wedding dress came out nothing like I expected 1 month out and I really didn't like it and then my stylist left. I was starting to freak out a bit, no lie. Kathy, the owner took so much stress off working with me diligently answering all of my questions, taking into account each of my requests and even gave me a complimentary bridal hair and makeup trial a month before my wedding since my initial stylist left. She helped give suggestions as well for our last minute rehearsal dinner. (I wasn't planning on doing one but my now MIL insisted.) The day of, the girls and I went in, they had some tables ready for us with snacks as well as we brought some of our own and stuff for mimosas. She planned out all of our hair and makeup perfectly. Eryn did an amazing job on my hair. I always wanted to do highlights and every time I was told by another stylist that my hair was dark and dyed black for a long time, so highlights make my hair red, and brassy. This review is for Jessica who I had two sessions with for Bridal Hair & Make up. Due to COVID, my wedding was cancelled. We decided to replace it with a photoshoot in Tahoe, one of my husband's favorite places. However, aside from the different ski resorts I didn't know much about Tahoe, let alone where I should get my hair and make up done. I did a bunch of research on different websites, including theknot, yelp, and other wedding websites. I went through the photos of every salon in Lake Tahoe to see if anyone had any experience doing make up for an Asian bride. Of all of the different salons, Salon Be was the one that had the most pictures of Asians. I was very specific about this search as not every salon knows how to do make up for Asians due to our unique eye features that make us look like we got punched in the eye if you applied shadow wrong. I reached out to 2 salons and received a quote for both. I decided to go with Salon Be. Kathleen, who also answered my yelp message, quickly & easily set up 2 appointments for me with Jessica. She even got on a call with me at a later date to answer all of my questions and give me some pre-appointment todos and ideas such as wear a robe or dress shirt so you don't ruin your hair when you change! Jessica was super professional, amazing, and so easy to work with. She put me at ease, did a wonderful job and brought all of my scattered ideas to life! My make up felt really light, hair was so intricate, & my eyes (one is slightly bigger than the other when I smile) were EVEN (omgod). Jessica knows what she is doing! I had the most incredible experience with Eryn for both my engagement photos and wedding. She did my makeup for the engagement photos, and hair & makeup for my wedding. Not living in the Tahoe area, I turned to yelp to find hair stylists to assist me with my destination wedding. I am not one to ever do my make up, I do not even color my hair.
