Second, even though it was just me and a couple other clients, I spent 4 hours at the salon that day because it was just Mini and one assistant and a majority of the time was me waiting around and I ended up not having time for a hair cut or blow out (left the salon with wet hair because I really had to leave for another appointment). I came to the salon with inspiration pictures and very clear instructions on not wanting my hair to be lighter and wanting a "big transformation" and unfortunately did not receive what I wanted in any way. Mini temporarily colored my hair to be 2 shades darker and bleached highlights and now a week later the bleached highlights are fully showing through and it looks like I'm back to being blonde. I am very disappointed in the service and reached out for a partial refund (given I did not receive what I asked for but couldn't tell at the time considering my hair was still wet when I left) and was told no and offered an opportunity to come back but first it is not easy for me to commute to Staten island and second I am not going to give them a chance to mess up more. I am going to have to spend the money to go to another salon to fix. Definitely do not recommend and think there are much more experienced salons in the NJ area.

They take the time to listen to your needs and are only too glad to give you a sample. I've bought many skincare, foundations, lipsticks and eye palettes from here before COVID-19. Their selections are obviously more limited than the main one but when you make any amount of purchase, they are very generous with giving you extra samples of perfumes or whatever else they might happen to have.

She had to end her personal phone call to help me so perhaps that was already a strike against me. As expected, she made the simple refund process difficult. I did not have the receipt for the item which isn't an issue since it takes 5 seconds to pull up your beauty insider account to verify the purchase. She made me swipe various credit cards to see if she could find the item. Nothing. She then entered in my beauty insider number. Nothing. She plugged in my phone number. Nothing again. Confused I mentioned that perhaps because I had purchased two of the same item in different colors that day that maybe the associate scanned the other item twice. She pretended to not see or understand what I was saying until finally, after about 10 minutes of trying different things, I pulled out my phone to pull up my insider beauty account myself. As soon as I did this, she agreed to just refund me as if it were a courtesy. I found the item on my e-receipt in two seconds and told her it was there. She pretended to only just notice it too. Had I not pulled up my beauty insider account myself , she would have dragged this on continuing to suggest it was never purchased or was purchased over 30 days ago or just deny the refund. This is typical petty behavior of hers. She makes every visit to the store painful.

After a few minutes listening to that complain lound and clear I just walked out. Please close the damn doors early if you are not going to allow clients to be inside peacefully shopping around. These two ladies were so rude saying how I should come back tomorrow to each other as one of them announce "by yelling: you have 20 minutes left" with an attitude. Definitely never coming back!!

I could not be happier that I decided to walk in and take a chance. Mona is the owner and is very sweet and takes the time to look at the condition of your hair and really listen to what you are looking to do. For years I have been getting full head highlights but was having a hard time due to grey growing in. After going over it with Mona she recommended full head color and weaving in highlights. I was a little leery because I had tried that before at another place and wasn't happy but I decided to give it a try. My hair truly came out beautiful. I have very red pigment in my hair and I told Mona about that (stylists are always surprised how hard it is to take my hair ashy) so she made sure to use a ratio so that my hair would come out the ash tone that I love. She gave me a phenomenal haircut too. I have literally been receiving compliments on my hair color and cut like never before. I have now been here 2 times, the 2nd time for the follow up color on the roots and she matched it perfectly. And she uses only the highest quality products so my hair is super soft and healthy. And did I mention that her prices are soooo reasonable too. There is no reason to pay double or triple for beautiful color (unless you like wasting your money, I don't). I now take my young son here as well for haircuts because I got tired of taking him to the "kiddie" places where they have no skills and have cut his ears several times. Mona is patient and sweet with my son and gives him the cut he asks for. He now asks me to go back to her. I just needed eye makeup and for her to test the colors on me. She proceeded to tell me that they are short staffed with no one in the store and that she would need to get approval from her boss. What in the hell is going on with this place?
