For TWEEN hair cuts; the owner said she could do a specific hair cut for my then, 15 yr old. She wanted the "Wolf Cut" so I spoke with Alicia about it and she did some research previously (said she did, didn't have any reason to doubt her). Took my daughter in for her appointment, Alicia literally put a pony tail on top of my daughters head and cut from there. (my research never provided that version) Needless to say my daughter was instantly horrified but didn't say anything bc she is shy and didn't want to hurt her feelings. She cried so hard for a couple of days. And to top it off, Alicia recorded herself cutting my daughters hair for her (Alicia's) YOUTUBE Channel AND DIDN'T ASK MY DAUGHTERS PERMISSION!!! I am absolutely sick to my stomach. I was referred to this salon for hair extensions. I have been getting extensions for over 20 years! Never, ever have I had extensions installed like this. The hairstylist Alicia Brown seemed very knowledgeable during my consult. From what I can tell after this experience she has NEVER done hair extensions! These pictures were taken 1 week after having the extensions put in. As you can see they are hanging on. I had beads slipping, I had beads that didn't have hair attached. I now have sores on my scalp from her horrific braiding. In fact I can't even call it a braid because she didn't even braid them into a track! When I called her to complain she said I think we should part ways. "YOU THINK" Not only did I pay her now I am having to get my full head redone at another salon. Much better place with a licensed extensionist!!!! Beware of this Alicea Brown and this salon. Shame on the salon for not vetting their stylists. read more

Everyone there is easy to get along with and most stylists have been in the business awhile and are knowledgeable and updated on styles and services. Stay away. This place is a train wreck. Went in for a color and the stylist left the toner on way too long and gave me purple and pink hair, failed to get even close to the roots, and totally missed the point of what I wanted. Perfect timing for wedding photos a week away. To top things off, several of the other stylists told her she did a great job. ‍ seriously? Just because she didn't eat the crayons? What part of this was good? The pic to the left is what I asked for. As you can see she missed the mark, missed the color, missed my scalp, charged me $100 and even ruined my shirt. Went there in April and got my hair done by Mackenzie. Before my hair appointment I was able to contact her and asked how experienced she was with Asian/Natural black hair. She told me that she's had a few customers that was Asian with natural black hair and that she's pretty good with it. I also showed her a picture of what I wanted, It was a mix of ash baby highlights and balayage. I told her that I know that we will not be able to do it all in one sitting because of how light I want it to be. The day I went in for my appointment, I noticed she started doing thick highlights on my hair! That was not what I wanted. After the bleaching process and rinsing my hair, it turned out horrible. It was super orange and brassy and it was the to the point where you were able to see that the bleach from my roots was not blended. It was so spotty and ugly. So then I asked if she can do a shadow root to my hair. After that, she toned my hair and it was still so ugly! I definitely could tell that she was rushing and was not taking her time. She did a bullshit job. My hair look liked an ugly green/gray color. I PAID $165 for that s@&/$. I could've gone to someone more experienced and I wouldn't even have had to pay $165 for such ugly highlights. ( what I asked for on the right,what I got on left) read more

I've been coming to Kwon since moving to the area in 2012, when I was referred by friends. I always walk out happy! One of the reasons I'm so loyal is that her highlights are really nice and consistent each time! They don't get progressively more blonde, and that isn't an easy task. I have fine medium blonde hair that lightens very quickly. Kwon manages to keep it healthy and the highlights look natural. I'm a big fan! read more

The only reason for the 1 star, is ONLY because I was not allowed to give it ZERO stars. My stylist was consistently repeating, "ugh, I'm hot" and "ugh, I 'm sweating" over and over again while she was blow drying my hair. When I came in to the salon, the day before to make the appointment, she assured me that a women's hair cut was $25.00 and she ended up charging me $56.00 because "it took her a really long time to blow dry my hair" seriously? That is more than double what I was originally quoted!? Aside from the unnecessary overcharge, she tried a "new product" on my hair that drastically dried out my scalp. My appointment was exactly 3 weeks ago and I still have a dry patch on my scalp that really hurts!! My stylist and the stylist next to us were talking about how HE goes to the gym to check out hot guys.... Uhm talk about inappropriate, there is a time and a place to freely talk about your sexuality and sexual interest but in front of a new client is probably not the place or time to do so. Another stylist came in to work without shoes, and in the middle of cutting her clients hair she stopped for at least 10 minutes to argue with another stylist about a movie. That client and I just looked at each other, like seriously!? Hello!! We came to get a hair cut, not watch an argument or hear about your sexual interest.
