Casey McDowell was great!! This was the first time I've been here and took my chances on a new stylist after going to the same one for 15 years. Casey did not disappoint! She did exactly what I asked. She didn't try to convince me to do anything else nor did she try to sell me anything. The building is an old house and decorated very well. It is very welcoming. Very disappointed in this salon. I scheduled an appointment and made it clear it was for a special event and I was leaving to go out of the country and had to get in before I left. All set to go- took the time off work, drove into town, only to get a text that the girl scheduled to do my hair was cancelling an hour before my appointment! The owner gave me a bottle of product for when you blow dry your hair. This was a nice gesture- however, this was a first impression and it was not one that left a good impression. read more

This was my second attempt with this salon. First time I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early, but it was an hour later before the stylist came back to get me. She had double booked. She did give me a "free" cut with my color, so I thought I would try again to support local businesses in my community. I scheduled my appointment 2 weeks in advance for a haircut only; an hour before my appointment the stylist sent a text advising she would have to cancel because she had a client come in with "extreme matting" that would probably take up the rest of her night! I gave up a golf game with my granddaughter for this appointment. I think it's apparent this salon doesn't value anyone else's time but theirs. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My entire experience with this salon was a disaster. I went in asking for a specific cut and a balayage and came out with neither. I went in a second time to have the balayage fixed and it was not. I asked for my money back and I was denied. $200 down the drain. I now have to go elsewhere to get my hair fixed at my own expense. The owner has been attacking me on social media calling me a liar that is saying my photos are not of the final result. She even accused me of dying my own hair and blaming her stylist. She also posted security camera footage of the end of my appointment in her salon, but conveniently cut the video before I revealed the issue was still there. If you want to be publicly ridiculed and called a liar for simply warning others of your negative experience, then this is the place for that. The owner's excuse was that her stylist is young. I don't care how young she is. She has a license. If your website says she specializes in balayage and color correction, then she better be able to do those things well. She can do neither. read more

I went here to get a cut and color. I have been coloring it out of a box myself but wanted something nice. My stylist was Casey McDowell. She took a lot of time to go over colors with me and what would look best. I have never been so happy with my hair color!!! It turned out so pretty. Would definitely recommend Casey. I had a deep tissue massage with Danielle today. I've been going to her for several months and every time is fantastic. However, today exceeded all expectations. I've been in pretty severe pain non stop for about 10 days. She listened to my complaints and it was like her hands could feel my pain as she released it. She did a couple new maneuvers on me today that were not pleasant during, but I am completely pain free right now!! I could kiss her face (but that's weird lol). Did a Googke search to find a salon while passing through the area. Salon de Elegance has 5* for a reason!! Everything from the decor, to the products, the professionalism of the stylist and the owner are all top notch! I came to Shonda very last minute on a weekday evening. I had called at least 5 salons in Indy all of which kept putting me off for a last minute appointment and claimed they had nothing for at least a week. With my work schedule I cannot book out that far so I decided to try a spot where I grew up about 30 minutes out. They stayed open late for me as I hit 45 minutes of traffic making me even more late. When I got there they were so understanding and welcoming. She did a great consultation, even gave me some ideas and then made my hair beautiful! She took me lighter than any other stylist I have had which is what I wanted but kept getting told no. She toned it perfectly and I was a brunette gone blonde with minimal hair damage. Their product is great and the service is wonderful. Here I have attached my hair all over blonde and also with brown lowlights I just got done this weekend! Shonda and April are amazing! read more
