Down right RUDE! I was shocked by how disrespectful young person was! I was 15 mins late to my appointment & she ignored my arrival, leaves me waiting an additional 15 mins while she completes a personal call. Then she approaches me, initiates conversation with "Your Late! you know we have a late fee" in a confrontational tone. I asked how much was the fee & she doesn't answer my question but responds with "if I don't like it I should go somewhere else". Based on her passive aggressive behavior, I feared she would take it out on my dog. I eagerly took her invitation & walked out! Clearly this young lady has some serious issues & I will pray for her, allow I will not allow my precious pup to be victim to her irrational behavior & I suggest you think long & hard as to if you want to subject your dog as well. For the past 7 years I took my baby to them and for about 6 1/2 years we had a GREAT groomer. Now I need you to know that my fur baby has never once growled at or snapped at anyone, but instead loves everyone unconditionally and has never acted up at ANY groomer in 15 years of life. Our primary groomer left the store and ever since she left for the past 6 to 8 months or so they have had a revolving door of groomers coming and going. Which is NOT a good sign at all. Last August my fur baby went to visit Dad who was working in Denver, Colorado. Denver is a mile high, the air is thinner there and my baby got what is called altitude induced pulmonary hypertension. But luckily for us, we got her home and after a few months with the help of medication AND being back to the normal altitude she is used to it resolved itself and she is no longer on medication and is fully recovered. I made the fatal mistake of being responsible and TELLING the groomer about it and they treated both of us like crap after that even after I told them that her medical condition had resolved and only ONE groomer there would even touch her. Two weeks ago my baby went to her normal appt which is every 7 weeks with the THIRD groomer since her old groomer left. I got a phone call which terrified me telling me that my dog had a "dryer seizure". What does that even mean I asked? It means that dog becomes totally inconsolable and upset during blow drying. This was NOT normal for my baby at ALL. So as I was driving to the groomer (at high speed of course), I called her old groomer to ask her if she had EVER had any issues with my dog in the past with blow drying or with grooming in general at all. She said never not once AT ALL and encouraged me to ask a few key questions, the main question being, "Were they drying her on HIGH heat?". My dog has hair not fur and always gets a low speed blow dry. I got there and things appeared to be fine, my dog was calm and on the table finishing up at that point. But when I asked politely about what happened and about the dryer setting everyone in the shop froze as if I had done something wrong by asking. The new groomer confirmed that they had in fact been using a high speed which literally meant that my baby was being BURNED by that hot blow dryer and was crying to stop it. Rather than being apologetic or taking responsibility, they pretty much blamed my baby for the crime of being a victim of burning and had the nerve to "cancel her" from the store altogether for MY crime of talking to them and trying to come up with reasonable solutions that would benefit everyone and protect my fur baby. We scheduled another appointment for which the groomer agreed to use a low setting on the blow dryer and I agreed to take up time I don't really have to hover in the parking lot nearby just in case anything happened. But a few days later I get a voice message from the store cancelling us for good. They even went so far as to tell me to "go back to the old groomer" as if calling her to get more information about my dogs grooming history was wrong for me to do. I called the owner of the shop to discuss this and she not only AGREED with this incredibly wrong course of action, but tried to defend it. I love my fur baby beyond words and I know you all love yours too. This is NOT a good look for ANY business with whom you are entrusting your precious fur babies so I felt I needed to tell you all about this. The moral of the story here is simple, DON'T GO TO SALON DE POOCH THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE THEY HAVE CHANGED. THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE CRAP AND IF THEY HURT YOUR DOG NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT INSTEAD THEY WILL ACT LIKE YOUR DOG IS THE ONE WHO DID SOMETHING WRONG for the unspeakable crime of CRYING to stop the pain! read more

The salon is very clean and we were greeted immediately as we walked in. Our stylist was Meranda. She explained the entire process to us and what to expect. Looking around you can tell all the stylists love their jobs and love our pets! When Mickey came out he had a different swagger in his walk; he knew he looked awesome!! Scheduled an appointment for our two dogs and have been a loyal customer for a few years. Was running a few minutes behind today for a grooming that was scheduled almost two months prior. Notified groomers would be on our way and was advised they already took in two dogs and we would have to wait for another two months until they could get dogs in for grooming. The groomer was not interested in the fact the dogs would not be groomed for over four months and did not seem to care. The groomer did not care the dog would not be groomed. The groomer advised she did not want to loose money because we were a few minutes late. Not very understanding or considerate. What a great first visit! I called today 6/22/21 for a nail trim for my Boston Terrier Luna, I wasn't sure if they could squeeze us in the busy schedule, but they did without hesitation! Kerri took care of Luna a treated her so nicely! She came back with a special bow collar and was very calm and relaxed. I waited until after my second visit here to review. My dog is very small (3 pounds) and has no teeth and a very short lower jaw. He is also very skittish. This makes him hard to groom. The first visit was okay. The cut was a little messy. According to the Groomer, this was because he didn't have a lower jaw to really hang on to, and he moved around a lot. This last visit, with a different Groomer, was much better. My dog's feet are nicely trimmed, and he looks "neat," like I expect him to when I take him to get groomed. I will definitely go back, and will schedule with the same Groomer. They take credit cards, but really prefer cash or check (and will tell you that when you call to make an appointment). read more

We have an English mastiff thats over 200lbs and a 6lb mini yorki so we have dogs on both ends of the spectrum!! Prime gets a groom and de-shed with nail trim and Barret gets a cut and full groom. We've taken our Maltese here twice. Once at about 2 1/2 months of age getting the first time trim. Then we just got back from his 6 months full grooming. Both times we've been very satisfied. The cost I feel is reasonable and the results have been very excellent. We plan on returning anywhere from every 2-3 months due to the Maltese long hair. read more

Best hair cut my dog has ever gotten. The staff were all friendly. I asked for no scent and my dog came back not smelling at all just like I asked. I love that the dogs get groomed out in the open. My pup liked coming here (she pooped on the grass strip every visit, and YES, I always have poop bags with me) but, unfortunately, I didn't. Their pricing is OUTRAGEOUS. $45 for an 8 lb. yorkie is ridiculous. I have a HUGE sensitivity to certain smells and asked on many (9 total) occasions for them to NOT put their perfume, scented shampoo ... whatever it was ... on my pup. It was hit or miss with Salon De Pooch, either she had that horrible odor or she didn't. NO CONSISTENCY and I asked every time. Every.Single.Time. My last 4 visits she had that overwhelming smell on her. I was being charged $5 when asking for oatmeal shampoo - EXTRA FOR OATMEAL SHAMPOO? Getting an appointment was difficult at best and they really need to work on their phone manners. A little over 2 years was 2 years too long. read more

Will not return. They took way too much fur off my golden doodle. It was her first full body groom, I've never had a dog that needed grooming before, could have used some more guidance. I assumed they knew what they were doing. Instead, they just shaved her down to nothing on her body and face, which I did not want done. She no longer looks at all like a doodle. She has been a wreck ever since we got her home, can't keep her head down, not sure if something happened or if it's just her awful hair cut. I have never reviewed a business before but because this place claims to love and treat dogs with care I decided to share my experience in order to help someone else avoid this place. When I booked the appointment I asked for the works, and told them my dog still had winter undercoat and this would be his first time having a grooming by someone else, I always do it. Go to drop off my dog, they ask what I wanted? (Like didn't you write that down when I made the appointment?). I answered the works; nails, wash, undercoat gone etc. They say they don't have time for all that. Really??? I assume their lack of time is the reason my beautiful dog looks worse than when he went in, all his hair is now matted and they told us they had to shave him. I was like nope- I went and picked him up, or rather, rescued him. He has cried all night and forget about touching him, he jerks and whines. All I'm sayin is the only reason there is one star is because there is no zero star. Don't take your dog there. read more

Danielle remembers me and always speaks to me by name. All the girls are friendly and they remember us too. So this was the first time I had taken my cat to Salon De' Pooch. I had previously taken her to a private groomer in Canal Fulton and had a great experience. My wife and I have since moved to Stow and after deciding that Canal Fulton was a little far to drive, we decided to Try Salon De' Pooch. When I first called, I tried to set up an appointment for a couple days after my call and although I am aware that 2 days is not very much notice, they seemed rude and surprised that I would even ask. So I was set up for an appointment for about 9 days away, which was fine by me. When I took my cat there, I was told that it would be at 3 hours and most likely 4 hours before I could pick her up. That seemed pretty normal and routine and I was perfectly fine with that. I was told that it takes 3 to 4 hours because our cat would need to dry from her bath/cleaning and it would take at least that much time. Well not even two hours later I receive a call that she was done. I was surprised but went ahead in to pick my cat up. Well when I got there I saw that the cat groomer had left for the day (at least she was nowhere to be found and coincidentally it was a Saturday afternoon and who wouldn't want to rush out of there), and my cat was COMPLETELY DRY WITH EXTRA FUR ALL OVER HER. When I asked if they wash her AFTER her haircut and they said yes, I would have to wonder how she still has all of her extra fur clippings all over her when I got home. That had also placed her on a metal table with a terribly loud shop vac the size of California right under her to wait for me until I came in. Oh and by the way, they charged me $65 to boot. The bottom line is I paid for my cat to get washed, groomed and her fur trimmed, and they only thing I received was her fur trimmed. I was going to try to at least take her back in there and get washed like I paid for, but I don't want her to have to face that shop vac again. read more

$45.00 LATER AND VERY UNHAPPY. I have had my bischon, "Missy" there two times for a full groom. First time I was not happy but did not complain. Second time, June 7, 2013. I was so upset about the way my dog looked that I called and talked to the groomer, Brittany Washburn, I explained that my dog was not brushed out, her ears were not cleaned and it didn't look like she had even been bathed. Then I talked to the owner who blatenly lied about checking Missy out before I picked her up and she said that she was well groomed. I immediately turned my car around went back to the salon and asked to see the owner. I told her to take a look at Missy and tell me she had a good groom. She looked at her and said well there may be a little hair in this ear but she is groomed well. Bottom line, she lied again. NOW.... they both told me that Missy had some matts on her legs so she had to shear her more than I had wanted. THAT'S PERFECTLY OK. I'M NOT UPSET BECAUSE SHE WAS SHEARED TO HER SKIN. ALTHOUGH SHE IS A HOUSE DOG AND TRAINED IN THE LITTER BOX AND I BRUSH HER. THE THING IS WHERE THEY DID LEAVE FUR AROUND HER HEAD AND FACE, IT WAS STRINGY AND NEVER BRUSHED OUT. HER EYES LOOKED TERRIBLE. SO DON'T GET THE IMPRESSION THAT I'M UPSET BECAUSE OF HER BEING SHEARED DOWN.I was still so upset that I got back in my car drove to another pet salon. Walked in and said I just have a question I would like answered and the owner said ok. I showed her Missy and asked her if she thought she just came from a goomer. Her eys got big and she said "NO". She said she couldn't believe that I had just came from a groomer. There were no names mentioned here so she did not know where I had taken her. Missy is 7 years old and I have her groomed once a month and have never had a bad groom before. I will NEVER set foot back in that salon again and I suggest you take your pet elsewhere if you want a good groom. I am amazed at all the five stars listed on their web site. However if you look closely there is no where there that you can leave a rating. Makes me wonder if there isn't more lies there. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU PICK ANOTHER PLACE TO GET YOUR DOG GROOMED IF YOU WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE IT'S BEEN GROOMED. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GROOM A BISCHON AND I WONDER IF THEY KNOW HOW TO GROOM ANY KIND.
