My boyfriend and I dropped our dog off on Tuesday 8/3 to be boarded here. I had terrible anxiety and just a really bad gut feeling about this place from the start. The younger lady at the front desk seemed to ease my nerves and I thought everything was going to be great, I was so sorely mistaken. On Wednesday 8/11 we picked up our dog. She REEKED like urine, as if they barely let her out to go to the restroom. On top of that the quilt that we left with her was SOAKED in urine. the owner, Nancy told us, "Oh it rained a lot that's why the blanket looks like that." Don't pee on me and tell me it's raining. Clearly the blanket and our dog was covered and soaked in urine. The blanket was so ruined we had to throw it away the second we got back to our house. Our dog is the most loving, kindness dog I have ever met she will run into your arms, however the owner also said that our dog "just wanted her space and her alone time." We asked them to play fetch with her every single day, an extra fee for each day, and they never once did it. We also, asked for them to give our dog a bath on the Tuesday before we picked her up, for an extra fee as well, and they didn't do it because "she just wanted to be alone." We trusted these people with our dog and we will never ever do it again. They lost our trust and broke our hearts with the way our dog was treated. If any one is looking to take their dog here run as far away as you can from them and don't look back. Our dog is now terrified to go to places where she used to love going. When we took her to the groomer to get cleaned, after this horrid experience, she was horrified to go with anyone other than myself. She was shaking and hid in between my legs before eventually going back with the groomer. I can only imagine how terrible the experience was from my dogs point of view. read more

What's worse than having your tried-and-true stylist vanish, with no trace of where they've moved to - having your pet groomer shutter the business, without farewell. Our Roscoe is a rescue, so I'm particularly protective when it comes to leaving him in someone else's hands (and I'm embarrassingly, stupidly in love with this Jack Russell/Corgi mix mutt). The search was on: finding the right blend of location (within 15 minutes by car), competence, affordability and heart. A google search yielded nearby options, and researching websites led me to Easedale Best Pet Care in Bath, OH. What sold me was a testimonial from someone willing to drive 45 minutes to get here. Nancy Secrist, the owner, makes no secret of her love for dogs (and cats) - Airedales are her obsession. I liked that. The home-like facility is situated in quiet a wooded setting, and available pet activities make it a virtual doggy day camp, if you will. Our shaggy dog came out looking like a champ - literally. In fact, the way he was "styled" brought out the handsome Jack Russell in him, like never before. It's been a month or so since he was groomed - he still looks neat, his rounded nails, though long, do not scratch (floors nor skin), and he smells good (OK, he doesn't smell bad). Here's a great home away from home where pets are loved and respected, and the grooming follows the animal's natural characteristics. We lucked out. The facility, established by (American Cocker Spaniel) breeders in the 1930's, and succeeded by a series of families who bred Afghans, German Shepherds and Toy Poodles, came to rest with Nancy's family in 2003. It makes me feel secure that they'll be there whenever we need them. Amen. read more

I don't even know where to start with how great this place is. I generally don't leave good reviews (or bad) unless someone wows me, right out of the gate, or they are consistently good. Easedale actually did both of these things for us. My dog is a very high spirited breed, very stubborn and has awful manners. I understand doggie day cares and boarders who merely tolerate some dogs - I really do. But after her first stay, every time we have gone back, my dog is beside herself to get out of the car to get to the facility office. One time, she jumped out of the car and ran to the door, the last time, I was prepared for her but she dragged me - literally - down a frozen sidewalk to get to their door (she's 23lbs). She is postively shameless when she sees these people. They take her for walks around their wooded property - and it's clear that the staff follows through on extra perks because she knows the property extremely well and tries to show me around on the way out. They have the best products for bathing/grooming and food - the latter is a lifesaver. I forgot her food and she has to have a fish-based, grain-free food because she's got persnickety tummy issues. We live about 45 minutes away so turning around was a real chore on a tight travel schedule. No worries! These people use holistic, grain-free, small batch food - and they had a fish based food, to boot. I didn't have to buy the $30 bag, either (though I was perfectly willing to do so, in that moment). Their boarding and perk prices are perfectly reasonable and they can deal with dogs with separation anxiety and jealousy (with other animals) problems. I know, because my dog has both. That she likes the other dogs there, without getting aggressive, and she can better share her people/caregivers, is basically a miracle. ("We DO have to tell her, "Anna, you have to shaaare!"". Whatever their magic is, they get her to post for cute photos, every visit, and they get her to share better. Best of all, she is excited to go see them - I've never had that with a boarding situation, before. I can't recommend this family-owned, and professionally run operation any more stridently. If you have to drive a bit to get there, your pet WILL thank you. They take dogs and cats - and though my dad sits with my cats when we're gone, I'm thinking of getting them on the Easdale train, too. These are just great animal lovers and it shows in every detail in how the animals respond. read more

A friend referred Easdale to me & I am so happy she did! Now I refer them to everyone. They gave me a tour of the facility even though I could see they were very busy. I was impressed with how clean it was & that it didn't smell (even with a full house). You can tell the staff genuinely care about each & every pet in their care. When I picked up my dog I thought she'd be a wreck (I even dropped her off with anxiety meds), but she was anything but! I could tell she was happy & well cared for during her time there. She didn't even need the anxiety meds I dropped off & I appreciate that they didn't just medicate her because of what I thought she might be like. Instead they paid attention to what she actually needed, which turned out to be just just food & attention! See you guys again in September! read more

We've been using Easdale boarding services for our dog for the last 3 years. While it's difficult to let someone else care for your pet while you're out of town, Nancy and her staff have always made me feel comfortable knowing that my dog is in good hands. The nature trail walks and one-on-one time keep him entertained and happy until I return. The grooming services leave him smelling like he just had a spa day when we pick him up. We recently boarded our 14 year old cat with Easdale as well. Nancy and her staff made sure to care for even the smallest of his needs and kept him safe and happy while we were on vacation. I don't know what we would do without Easdale. It really is the BEST PET CARE! read more

I'm a little baffled as to how this place has consistently gotten 4-5 stars. Their website is seriously misleading, especially when it comes to their facilities. My guess as to why people gave them 4-5 stars is that they never asked to see where their dog was actually going to be staying.... I was going to board my dog here for a week while my husband and I went on vacation, I brought my dog in, and was dumbfounded at how they could operate a business in such clutter. I wasn't even sure if I had walked into "The Main Office"- it looked more like a messy (and hot, as there was no air conditioning) home office. This is where I started to get a bad feeling in my gut. I asked to be taken back to see where they kept the dogs and I was taken back through her house to a small room off the kitchen where they held 20 or so dogs stacked one kennel on top of the other. (There's a reason they don't show their holding pens online). The kennel she led me to was not cleaned, had a dirty dog bed in it, and when I looked through the little dog door inside the stall to the outdoor holding pen, it had another dogs droppings all over the concrete floor. They knew I was coming and had ample time to clean the stall, so why didn't they? They also had the dog grooming area right beside all of the kennels, which can be hard for a dog who isn't used to this environment, to have to be right next to all of that noise (especially if they were using an electric trimmer, it makes most dogs feel uneasy). For $26.00 a day plus extra fees for activities, I expected SO much more from this place. I left feeling very uncomfortable about leaving my dog (who I would consider my fur child) there. I ended up calling and canceling and going to pick her up. I just did not feel comfortable there. The woman Nancy, also rolled her eyes at the fact that I was coming back to get my dog. Like, literally rolled her eyes in front of my husband. I thought that was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone who truly cares about their fur babies and wants them to stay at a clean facility and be well cared for. Finally, I didn't appreciate being charged for a photo they took of my dog, which I can assume was more for their own promotions than for me after a brief 8 hour daytime stay. Overall, very unhappy and upset I wasted my time. read more

Safe pet environment with good word-of-mouth recommendations. The staff let us tour their facility when we were needed a new kennel for our Viszla. Well run operation that also provides grooming for pets. Our dog was well cared for and we received a photo of our dog on a walk as a memento. Great find in the area for pet owners who have vacations or business trips out of town. read more

Unacceptable experience, will not repeat. Specific issues -- (1) and (2) are just my opinion, (3) seems more serious (1) Price: Price per day includes full price fractions of days. Our dog was dropped off around 4pm on day 1 and picked up at 9:30am on day 5. We were charged for 5 full days for 90 hours of boarding. This is like being charged for another night in a hotel the day you check out. This was our fault for assuming it worked like other places we've used instead of inquiring up front. (2) "Warranty:" We were charged a $5 fee for veterinarian services in case our dog got sick within 5 days of returning home from boarding. When I asked about this fee, the owner said (rather arrogantly, in my opinion), "We stand behind our service!" Note to owner: charging customers for a "warranty" in case the dog gets sick is precisely the opposite of "standing behind your service." Standing behind your service is fixing problems without extra charge. (3) Horrible smell: Upon return to our home, our dog smelled absolutely terrible We have boarded dogs elsewhere and understand it is a shared environment, but this was unbelievable to us. Our car smelled for several hours after the 5 mile ride home, and the bed we brought for our dog is ruined and was thrown away. It took two baths, several hours apart, to get rid of it. My advice is to understand and verify the pricing and visit the office to check out the smell before you board. read more

Amazing service, caring staff, clean happy and sane dog! We travel frequently, and our 75 pound dog is not a welcome guest at our relatives. We used to use another kennel in the area - they were totally fine, but Dog would get nervous in the car, and come back somewhat hyper for the next several days when we got him home. A friend of ours mentioned Easdale. From the first visit, we have not considered going back to our old kennel. The staff is totally dog focused, has wonderful facilities, amazing daily walks and Dog comes home more rested and relaxed than we do! I honestly think he looks forward to his times at "camp" as much as we enjoy vacations. Thank you Easdale! read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Nancy and her staff are!! I had a horrible experience with tails r wagging when I boarded my two fur babies three years ago! Both of my dogs were very stressed when I picked them up to the point that my one fur baby jumped over a 6 foot wall to get to me!! I was upset and mad at myself for putting my dogs through that trauma. I did a lot of research and when I came across Easdale I just knew that this was the place for my fur babies. Nancy and her staff were extremely personable and really took the time to get to know my dogs and I. Their facility was clean and inviting. My dogs spent the day and when I picked them up they were happy and exhausted at the same time with the awesome activities that you can chose for your fur babies. The activities you can choose from like a nature walk, painting, and one on one time truly shows the love and passion that Nancy and her staff have for dogs. I have been boarding my dogs at Easdale now for the past three years and couldn't imagine taking my dogs anywhere else! I can go on vacation and have no worries about my dogs for I know they are in excellent hands! They are very reasonable in price and I love that I get a picture of my fur babies each time I pick them up. You can see in the pictures that my fur babies are happy and content. I just moved back home to NE Ohio three months ago, so I can't say I'm a longtime client of Easdale (yet!). But after just two visits, I can say I'm very happy with them! In the first visit, my Malteses were groomed by Nancy. It's the best grooming they've ever had (and they've had some good ones)! And they seemed relaxed when I picked them up. Based on that experience, I boarded them at Easdale for a weekend, and again, they seemed relaxed (and happy and clean) when I picked them up. It's also very comforting to know that the Secrist family lives right there onsite. We're very happy to have found Easdale! read more

Hey, I have been taking my four dogs to Easdale for 2-3 years now. I travel for both business and for family trips so my 4 have been there about 7 times so far this year alone. It's great. One of our Jack Russells (of three) is not too friendly with new people and doesn't warm up too quick. He tries to climb up into the owner's lap when she's doing the check in and I've NEVER seen him take to anyone like that! They are always coming home happy and ready for anything each time. They can even give our old Basset, dog #4, a little peace and quiet from the JR's by being near them but not right in with them, on our request. Every year we come back, I see there's another completed repair/replace project done and the old place just keeps on looking nicer and nicer. I hope they keep on keeping on! My dogs love it. read more

I have been taking my dog to Easdale the past year and have had amazing service. They have taken last minute appointments when I had emergency travel and the grooming service is top-notch. I have a large energetic dog and they take great care of him. They offer one on one play time and walks around the large property as well. I think the prices are great especially for the amount of service you get. I also like the photo they provide at the end of the stay. read more
