Could not have had a worse experience. They denied what was true, I asked them if it is okay to cancel as there has been a misunderstanding. Made no mention of cancellation charges (I was right there in the salon). Said a few xenophobic things. The lady, Angie, uses aggressive language and becomes a Karen when the other person starts talking logic. WORST!! To add, they even blocked me after i posted the review on their Instagram page. This was a $547 difference. I wanted to dye my hair blonde and this was the result. It doesn't look bad, but it's not what I wanted and it was WAY too overpriced. I didn't know much about dying hair and they totally took advantage of that. I wanted to dye my hair fully blonde and they gave me a balayage..? I didn't know what dying my hair a different color entailed, so I trusted the salonist. After it was done, my hair did not look much different from how it looked before. The initial balayage was $270 and $100 extra for all the additional bowls of hair dye.. They used a 2 step deep conditioner without even asking me if I wanted it, and charged me for all the products: $40 for the product she used that day, $30 for the following step, and $28 for a leave-in conditioner. She didn't ask me if I wanted it, she just told me to take them all home. I also got a trim which was $75. Paying that much for a minimal difference (nobody I encountered noticed a difference, including my family) didn't sit right with me and after talking to friends/ family, I knew I was CLEARLY ripped off. read more

It's true, sometimes having nice hair comes genetically and I'd like to think I'm a part of that group, however, Angie is the spice of life that my hair needs and I'm never looking back. Her knowledge and passion shines through both to her clients and her staff. I left yesterday a few inches shorter, a lot less heavy in hair weight, and full of compliments on how shiny my hair was and how great the cut looked. Getting your hair done is a process: color, cut, etc. and quite frankly sometimes I have a hard time making decisions or I don't know enough about what's right for ME and my hair. I'm fully confident now that if I don't have the answer, I'm getting my hair done by people who can help me find it. Seriously, if you're even considering coming to Salon Decorum let me give you some advice - dooooo it. Had high hopes for this salon as it came highly recommended - however it was a complete disappointment. I called the salon and spoke to a gentleman who took down the services I desired a week before the actual appt and he was very excited that I would be coming in. Leading up to the appointment I rescheduled my calendar with work, kids, nanny, etc. I come in and the first thing the owner, Angie who was going to be my stylist asked me was what I was there for and then goes on to say oh no, I won't have time to do all of that. She shared that whoever took your call should have told you that...now shouldn't you have told me that ahead of time? As the owner of this salon you could have easily called me to share that those services could not be provided in the time allotted in your schedule. You waited until I sat in your chair to tell me? The owner did nothing to try to accommodate me and quite frankly didn't seem like she really cared. I ended up walking out and leaving the salon so disappointed. Advice for the salon: check and double check your scheduled appts, and if you can't provide the services don't confirm the appts. Customer service is critical and you unfortunately dropped the ball here and lost several additional customers. read more

My hair is in the best condition it has ever been and she truly helped me to embrace and love my natural curls. The entire staff is always welcoming and you can truly feel the family vibe. Asked for a root Touch up explained I love Barbie hair but had yellow Brass and needed that touched up. Not sure how that got interpreted into darken my roots to black and underneath. They said it was too late to fix it but they could fix it sat. I am so embarrassed my hair looks like this. Now I went from bleach blonde to dark and she toned my blonde to dark as well when I showed a pic of platinum. It's going to cost me so much to fix this. There's still brass too. I was not charged but they said it was a miscommunication between me and stylist. No platinum blonde would ever ask someone to do this and I'd never ask someone to make the top of my hair black and bottom black. Pic in chair is before anyone touched. Two pics after are to show the black roots everywhere and underneath. They made my platinum black where there wasn't even a root before and there's black all over from top of my head to below my ears and spread underneath. I sent pictures to another stylist at another salon who was horrified and said she had idea how someone could do this to someone's hair and why she put black everywhere and spread it so messily read more

Where do I start? I don't have enough good things to say! The staff is super friendly and personable. They are very attentive and you can tell they care about making you feel the utmost beautiful when you leave their doors. It shows they are passionate about their craft. I get my hair done all the time by Angie. I swear she has magic hands. I go in there looking frumpy dumpy and always leave with a smile from ear to ear...feeling absolutely fabulous all the time. Angie is godsend to hair! Being a hairdresser myself, that is a huge statement to make but I mean it. I've been in plenty of salons and had many talented stylist color and cut my hair but nothing comes close to Angie's work. From the second I walked into the salon I knew I was in good hands. Angie had me come in for a consultation because I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted. As soon as I walked in I could tell how closely she pays attention to detail and it put me at ease. I was one of those clients who was bored with her hair and wanted something different and fun but didn't want to cut my hair or go dark . Right away Angie recommended going lavender/ purple. She explained how it would look cool for a couple of weeks and then gently fade out to a nicely toned blonde and she was 110% right. I got SO MANY compliments on my purple hair from the day I walked out of the salon and they didn't stop for months after. The purple gently faded as I washed my hair and the blonde that resulted was perfection. It lasted me months before I had to go back to get my color refreshed. The placement of balayage and haircut that she gave me was beautiful and customized entirely to the way I wore my hair. I'm counting down the days until she can work more magic on my hair. The vibe of the salon is amazing as well. Its gorgeous and also very comfortable to be there among the other employees and clients who are all engaging in conversation.
