The staff were so friendly and so communicative, and I felt like I was really being taken care of. The service is performed were wonderful and I had such a great time feeling pampered. I think it was worth the extra cost compared to the other nail salons in the area. One thing to know: the power went out at some point, and it was really awesome to see that they were prepared for a power outage with battery, powered supplies, lamps, and other things. The shop itself is really cute, very clean aesthetic while being warm. The only downside is that it's in downtown so you have to find downtown parking but luckily there's tons of street parking nearby. Unfortunately Fan Nails didn't carry that shade, but Kristen mixed a shade match for me using the DND colors they do have, even adjusting it until it was to my exact liking. I always feel badly about being so particular about the colors that I like and hate to put the employees out, but she extended this courtesy to me unbidden. She was precise and attentive, frequently checking in to make sure the water was comfortable and that she wasn't causing any pain during the more (inherently) abrasive parts of the treatment. Beyond just her skill, she was very open and warm - it felt like receiving services from a friend. I'm looking forward to the next time I come in!

The staff here are so nice and were very accommodating of my requests for custom nail art and had my inspo picture up the entire time for their reference. It took a few tries to find the right green color but I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. This is the first salon I've been to that truly took extra time at the end of the manicure to freshen up the gel edges and make sure my skin was clean (not all places do this!!). I requested a full removal of builder gel, a trim back down to my natural nail length, and then a regular gel polish. The removal itself was fine, but I did feel a little uneasy because the technician using the electric drill was frequently looking away from my nails while the drill was still pressed down. Once the gel color was applied, I asked for what I thought was a fairly simple leaf design. The first attempt unfortunately looked very messy and uneven--almost like a child had drawn the leaves. I ended up waiting for another technician to finish her client so she could redo the design. The second tech did improve it, but the process took much longer than expected. Overall, the solid color gel application was fine, but it seems like more practice may be needed for nail art designs.

Had an appointment with Devon at 5pm on a Monday. I was the last client there. She really took her time despite almost closing. The appointment lasted about 45 mins. I was charged $55 (very affordable for the amount of hair she cut off, plus blow dry and straighten). I used to pay about $80 at Scissorhands for "just okay" haircuts... but as an Asian girly, I trust my Asian hairstylists. Plus it's very decent pricing. I got a gel manicure and in less than 48 hours my two index fingers peeled off in one piece. I did go back and they fixed it. When I asked them to fix it, they asked if I wanted a pedicure too. Like really? Read the room. Woke up this morning, day 3, and now my middle finger gel has now peeled off. For $45 (with tip), not worth it. Like I said, so unfortunate. I get my nails done at least every 2-3 weeks. Will not return.
