It was my second visit to this salon; I stopped in in a couple of years ago for color and it was ok. I came back based on a referral and the yelp reviews. Service requested was a root touch up to cover my grey and to tone down the brassiness from some old highlights. I was specific on what I wanted and what I did not want, including sending photos before and after. Unfortunately, the service that I received was far from correct and acceptable. My experience here was unpleasant, too much of a dismissive attitude with games and excuses to not make this right and ultimately making me feel as if I did something wrong. No issues when I arrived, he greeted me and we discussed the plan. While I sat in his chair, there were a number of things that could have been done better, at the end of the day, it is how comfortable a customer is made to feel. If a customer comes to a salon, it's to feel better, it's a Zen for some of us, not a place to sit there and hear unfounded medical theories about dementia, or other gender related comments. Be sensitive, you never know who is in your chair, and what their family may be dealing, this made me so uncomfortable. I sat in that chair hearing about everything else chatting up amongst themselves and taking personal phone calls, yet no focus on my hair. If a customer pays for a master colorist, the expectation is that you do it, not someone else, in my case, the young lady washing hair. Mentor the hair washer person to not rub the water head in someone's skull, it is painful, I left the salon with hives. For the toner selection: As the colorist, you should be working with your client to select it, not have your client to do it for you. A client has no concept, or training on the color mix and how things will look. This is an out to waive any accountability, not cool, not appreciated. Do right by the customer, this is your community, we invest in it and support it, we come here to you based on referrals, so to find every excuse and inconvenient times to have me return is not a great business practice. Lastly, in years of getting my hair color not once has someone left the toner for so long and with a cap under the heat. My hair is dry now, crunch, and brittle causing breakage. To date, no response provided, he went radio silent. No partial refund provided as requested, zero accountability. My hair remains a mess. Anyone else would have asked for the entire refund if they saw my hair, however, unlike this salon, I have respect and still compensate for the time that he took to do my roots. Other than doing my roots and mix the toner, he did nothing else. My charge was $200, plus a $20 tip to the person that washes the hair. read more

When I first went into Salan Kharazi, I met Khash. He was friendly and welcoming. I have thick curly hair and after speaking with him for a few minutes, I knew I was in good hands. I made an appointment and hoped for the best. I have now been back several times for a cut and demi-permanent color and have not been disappointed. As i entered the salon i was allowed and greeted friendly . It was a Friday and i didn't have an appointment but they made room for me . I got the B3 (bond) treatment and it made my hair have movement and feel soft . Hannah gave me an amazing blow dry followed by a dry cut by khash. I loved the dry cut . I wasn't sure if I was going to post anything, but it's been a few weeks and my friends and new hairdresser have made me feel more than validated. And if I can save only one person from the same poor experiences, then Yelp has served it's purpose. I've been a client at this salon for the past several years. I have really thin, fine and curly hair. When I first came to Khash, the only services I'd ever done were the routine hair trimming and cellophane. The cellophane, as I've been told by salons before, was more for the coating and protection of my hair than for the color since I've always maintained my natural chocolate tone. I started with trims only here. Visit after visit, Khash really pushed for me to do the B3 treatment so after several visits I added this in with the trim. I've understood this to be a deep conditioning treatment for dry/ damaged hair. The last trim and B3 was in early August. My hair has been feeling lifeless and I remembered the old cellophane treatments and scheduled a second appointment a week later for this. I asked Khash for a clear treatment to keep my color the same. When I got home, I noticed the color was way different. My hair felt buttery soft ( the opposite of why I would get the cellophane for my hair type) and it looked ashy and an auburn color. I shot Khash a text just to give him the feedback and he called me right away. He was very defensive and it escalated to him yelling that I was cheap, and that his coloring job was perfect, and that I just want my money back. He told me not to ever come back and that he was blocking me. Needless to say, I was shocked at this reaction and it's been weighing on me until this past weekend. Until my girlfriends pointed out on their own that my hair looked red. THANK YOU. I also just left my new salon, where the hairdresser was incredibly kind and welcoming, and also pointed out all the things that Khash had probably done wrong, including the over moisturization and the cut. Admittedly, I've been telling myself for a while that I should probably find a new salon because there have been several other red flags, but with my hair type I'm always afraid to take the risk and damage whatver hair I have left. Other things to look out for at this salon: - Gaslighting: this was mentioned in another bad review. Don't I have every right to say something if I don't like the service? There's something terribly wrong with making a client feel like they are the problem when you've clearly done something different than what was asked. - Rude/Offensive: asking inappropriate personal questions (about me or others in the salon), talking poorly about clients or employees behind their backs. Also, I regularly have asked how my hair is looking and his response this last time was "can't get any worse". I also think he was purposefully rough when combing it out. - Wasted time: Always running late or double booked by mistake and lots of talking instead of doing. - Sale of products: aims to resell products that are labeled "not for resale". Also, I've had multiple issues with products that were watered down. I started purchasing directly from Aveda and there is a huge difference. - Pricing: makes it up as he goes. I've regularly overheard convos about what he should charge a client. He's always charged me differently for each visit even though I've always done the same trim and B3, and when he kicked me out he mentioned he thinks I'm cheap because I complained about the price. Asking about the price of a cellophane and complaining are two different things. And I'm asking because you are shady. As I mentioned, Khash is a gaslighter and you can see this from his responses to other negative reviews. I'm expecting a response here but whatever comes back, I am content knowing that I didn't make anything up with my feedback and I didn't do anything wrong to get that reaction from him. He just reacted like a child and probably doesn't like that I don't utilize the costly services like highlights, bayalage, etc. read more

Curly hair? Beware! This salon represented that they know how to cut curly hair. I've gone to this salon several times and was never extremely happy with the hair cuts I've received. The last time I went in for a trim, the hair washer managed to mat my hair up when she was scrubbing my hair. Not only that, one of the other employees tried to blame it on me! The salon owner cut my hair. When I got home, I realized he butchered my hair. It was cut diagonally in the back. Then, when I was paying, the owner had me tell him the price I've been paying instead of telling me the price of the haircut. Very shady! I called to see if he would fix it and asked if someone else could wash my hair, he told me that I needed to ask the hair washer nicely to be careful because employers can't say anything to employees (not true!). I walked out after he fixed it with hair that was so much shorter than I wanted it. I just wanted a trim and he had to take off 4-5 inches because he butchered my hair the first time. Terrible experience, will never go there again. If you have curly hair, I would strongly consider going somewhere else. read more

Today was my first time going to Salon Kharazi. I had been needing to get my hair cut and colored for 6 months. We moved out here to Torrance and the last 6 months, I hadn't thought about my hair. I needed to get it done because I was getting a lot of whites growing out and I wasn't sure who to go to. Of course, I came on to Yelp to find the best hair salons here in the area of Torrance/Redondo Beach and after calling a few places to see if they could take me in today (being that it's Saturday and Thanksgiving is coming all of the salons were booked with appointments), I called up Khash at Salon Kharazi. He told me to come in today and they could take me in around 11am. Sure enough, I got there and they started on my hair right away. I had a lady named Angela who did my hair - there were three ladies altogether who were working on my hair. Angela did the color and cut of my hair. Another girl was assisting her and she put a primer on around my forehead and ears to ensure color would not get on my skin. After the cut and color, a third girl was the one who washed my hair and then she did an amazing blow dry of my hair. My hair looks amazing, is soft and the cut is gorgeous! It did cost me quite a bit but it was worth it. Quality is worth more when it is of high quality work. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will be back! read more

So I decided to cut my own LONG LONG hair last night off a YouTube tutorial and omg it looked TERRIBLE I thought I was doing well and once it dried, it wasn't even close to ok. Called this salon first thing in the morning, they answered and took me as soon as they could.
