Well...after a run in with scissors and a YouTube bang trimming video, Princess did the impossible - she saved my bang trim when I thought all hope was lost. I'm talking about taking a crooked bang cut that had 1 cm left at the shortest part and fixing it into something that looked better than decent! Like I said, the impossible. After she saved my bangs, I went back to her for a badly needed haircut. She knew exactly what to do without direction from me. It was exactly what I want and needed. Love this salon! I've been coming here almost a year now and it is a hidden little gem of a Salon in Redondo Beach. Kirsten does my hair and each time she has done an excellent job whether its a cut or color. The service, the hair color are consistently fabulous. She always listens to what I want done and exceeds my expectations. The other stylist and owner are super professional as well. The color and hair cuts I see others there get are always beautiful. This is a new Aveda salon and I was very pleased with the cut and color and that Dejohn did for me. I'll definitely be back! Hopefully they expand into skin care and waxing. 01/2018 - First time with Princess and she was awesome! I loved my new, brighter shade of red and her massages were amazing. Kirstin, the stylist there, ruined my hair! The highlights she gave me looked like a cap of light brown highlights on the top of my head (she called it a Mohawk) with the bottom half of being a contrasting black! I called to describe on the phone. I had to leave a detailed message 3 times over several days. It took 4 days for a return call. The problem was that when she returned my call, she was totally defensive/hostile. At no time, did she take accountability for not telling me what could happen when I asked for a refresh on my partial. As a hair professional, it was her responsibility to advise me, her customer, on what could happen. I repeatedly assured her I did not want to argue, but that needed her help/advice on how to fix my hair. I repeatedly told her, "we should be on the same team" . . . that I should be able to honestly express my hair concerns and get some advice on how to correct. I felt I was walking in eggshells because she was so angry and defensive when I expressed my concerns. Then, she curtly told me that did not think she could please me and literally hung up! I called back but she did not answer. So we drove to the salon to at least get some advice/resolution on how to color correct. I saw Kirstin. She literally "ignored me"! At no time, did not apologize for ruining my hair OR hanging up on me! The manager/owner (Princess) claimed she did not know of Kristin's unprofessional, as she only heard one side of Kirstin's rude behavior on the phone! Honestly, if she truly had no idea about how Kirstin handles customer problems, she should now be aware and act accordingly. . . especially with customers with legitimate complaints. read more

Thirty-two Salon is perfection. I only write reviews if a business is outstanding or horrible, the meh experiences are forgettable so reviews are unnecessary. Everything from the moment you enter until you leave is fantastic. Great location, visible and stylish standalone building with easy, free, convenient & secure parking. As soon as I entered, I was warmly greeted by a big, welcoming smile. I looked around and loved the clean and stylish furnishings. I was promptly seated and Amanda gave me an unexpected treat of a perfect neck and shoulder massage with Aveda products. Wow, I didn't know how much I needed that! Took away the stress of the week with a strong massage - not a short, limp obligatory massage precursor before the hair service, but rather a massage that on its own, I'd like to book again. Wonderful! Amanda was sweet and surprisingly strong. Next, I met Princess. I immediately liked her. Genuinely friendly and kind. My fondness grew as I saw her skills in action. A good listener, not pushy and yet had great ideas when I asked her for her recommendation on something. Despite her talent, she's humble and doesn't act like a diva (I've experienced too many of those in previous salons). I can understand why all these people are loyal to Princess. She's the real deal. Loved my layered cut. I've had layers most of my life so I've seen the good, bad & the ugly. People may think they know how to layer but they're wrong. Princess was a master at layering. The whole vibe at this salon was really welcoming, professional and comfortable. Looking at the others who work at this salon, they all seemed happy and nice. The owner Princess definitely created a positive culture at her salon. Despite my selfish desire to keep her to myself, I will be sharing and highly recommending this salon to my friends bc they're good people who are great at what they do. Love, love, love. read more

Updated. Princess (the salon owner) offered to take me after her last appointment of the night. She was a pleasure to spend time with and very skilled. It was gracious of her to accommodate me after being cancelled on last minute by another stylists. I'm glad I gave it another chance I'll be back. Sadly I was called less than an hour to my appointment time by Iris canceling my appointment. She stated she was running late, I offered to come in later but was told she got off at 6p so that wouldn't work. Frustrated by this type of service to say the least. Princess was referred to me by a trusted friend so I started looking at the salon website and found a subtle magenta bayalage hairstyle that I loved. First, I asked just for the style. But then I got my nerve up to go for the color, too! I love how patient Princess was with me. And Amanda provided a much needed neck and hand massage during the coloring process that was relaxing and eased my nerves. That was in April.
