I had a positive experience here , for the most part! Came in for a last minute blow dry + flat iron. I have long curls and asked for a very bone straight result which I got more of a voluminous semi straight result. Either way it looked beautiful and my stylist was very nice. I will say, if you are the type of consumer who returns products (like me!) I would not buy products here as they do not take returns on unused/unopened products. I bought some products here from a brand on the boycott list, I was allowed to exchange for the other brand they carry. But now I am stuck with over 100 dollars worth of products that I do not want!! My teen daughter had a great experience at Salon La Luz with an apprentice, Anna, who was under the tutelage of the owner/lead stylist, Rebecca. My daughter has thick, straight hair, and Anna was very attentive to her preferences and requests. Warm, inviting, welcoming and unpretentious with excellent (and hip!) hairdressers! The salon is super clean and covid-safe--very light and airy, which I appreciate since I am super covid conscious. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Rebecca at Salon La Luz! She has been my hairstylist for well over a decade, and I'm so excited for her on this new venture. Safety and comfort are her priority, so both of us were masked throughout my post-covid visits. The salon is always clean and there is never a wait of more than a couple of minutes for a stylist. But let's talk about the good stuff - hair! I visit every few months for a cut and refresh on my color, which is a color not occurring in nature (My hair is currently galaxy purple!). She is incredibly skilled and understands that styling one's hair is a collaboration - she takes time to truly listen to what you want, and offers advice or suggestions about what will work best. If she thinks that a particular treatment or style will not be effective or flattering, she will say so and then offer an alternative, but if you've got your mind set then she will do exactly what you ask for. She's knowledgeable but never pushy and is also a great conversationalist! I've reached a point in my relationship with her that I pretty much just come in, give her a broad framework of what I'm looking for, and tell her that she has room to play.
