I went to Phoebe the first time and was pleased with the cut and service, even though the price is way out of my normal budget. I had a Groupon and was very happy with the results. However, when I went back I waited over a half hour for her to arrive. Then her friend showed up to the tony salon and they were gabbing the whole time. It was utterly unprofessional. I felt completely ignored and unappreciated. I'm not the kind of person who can afford an expensive haircut, and do I shell out money expect to be treated with dignity. I've seen Phoebe for years at this point and thought it might be helpful to say why I continue going back to her no matter the physical location of her salon (it varies to be usually somewhere off Colorado Blvd). She changed her location more recently due to Covid to be in an individual suite to ensure the safety of her patrons. It makes me feel very comfortable to be in a more insulated setting and the location has free parking and is easy to get to. Phoebe is most skilled at making your hair look the way it was meant to be. For me, I was a natural blonde as a child and I love how Phoebe knows how to accentuate my blonde hair in a way that looks both natural but also striking. She does AMAZING work with blondes. But I've seen her do hair of all types - if you're wanting to bring your brown or black hair into something even more beautiful than it already is, Phoebe is a great person to see! I was on the hunt for someone who could brighten up the front of my hair so that when I pull it back into a ponytail or just with my hands in conversation, you see brightness. I have an asymmetrical scalp and was never satisfied with hairstylists treatment of those front hairs. I would pull my hair back and it wouldn't look like I had gotten my hair done - they would only focus on the top of my head. Phoebe knows how to do the top highlights seamlessly but also doesn't forget the front - she's the only hairstylist in Denver who knows how to do that. I actually found her originally because my previous hairstylist who could do this moved away, and I found out that Phoebe was the one who had trained her on how to do this! She's a very fun and energetic person who shows an emotional interest in your life too. That makes getting my hair done even more nurturing:) Also she has the most adorable dog who hangs out all day and makes the space so relaxing. I definitely recommend Phoebe! read more

She took 30 minutes to cut and color my hair and charged $140. The next day I realized that my hair was over my left year and well above it on the right. Just moving to Colorado from California and needing my hair done asap, I jumped on my laptop and typed "Loreal Professional Color salons in Denver" and this salon popped up first with great reviews on google so I called and made an appointment. When I arrived I met Therese and we immediately started up a conversation about my color and redheads which made me feel at ease knowing that I was in a salon with not only friendly professional individuals but also very knowledgeable ones. Phoebe did my cut and Therese did my color. I explained that I was unhappy with the current color I had received while on vacation in Croatia (which was not the formula I had given her). I explained and showed a picture I found in their binder of what I wanted to achieve and Therese said she could get me there in 3 visits! Well, she pretty much nailed it first try! :) Phoebe cut my hair in a way that gave it more movement and explained before hand what she was going to do, why, and showed me pictures as examples and I love it! I went to this salon because I wanted bayalage hair coloring. I scheduled partial coloring and a trim. Here are the pros: 1 The salon is light and airy. 2 All of the staff went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. I don't know if it was genuine or fake but that doesn't matter because they tried. I give them an A for effort. Deanna was especially sweet. 3 My hair looks great. I left with a great color, cut and much healthier hair! The reason for a one star review is because the cons far outweighed the pros and made the experience turn sour. Here are the cons: 1. I looked on their website for pricing. Here is what I expected: $90 for partial hair color $50-$100 for hair cut $140-$180 total When I checked out they charged me $240. I also got a $25 parking ticket when I parked in a place they suggested over the phone when I called. I had a 20% off coupon so I expected to pay $112-$144...not $240!!!! Total damage $240, plus a $25 ticket = $265! 2. At least 5 people worked on my hair, one of which was a trainee. Would you pay $240 to have a trainee work on your hair? 5 people makes for a very disjointed process. 3. I was there 4 hours and 20 minutes because people kept leaving me and doing other peoples hair. Are you kidding me? I've never in my life been in a hair salon this long. 4. Because I was in the salon over 4 hours instead of 2 I got to experience rush hour traffic and was late for a date. Can they do hair.... Yes. Will you get quality service at a price you expect.... Went here 3 times for Balayage highlights. The first time Natalia worked on me I was very pleased with the outcome. The second time was again great. The third time she applied a treatment to sort of "tone down" the blond in my hair. To be fair, my hair was pretty blond at the time. She had me select the color-I had two choices. I opted for the darker color, and she seemed surprised. She asked me why I didn't prefer warm tones. I told her that the color looks orange to me. She said "ok." When all was said and done, my hair was suspiciously close to the brassy orange color that she showed me earlier. I called Natalia to tell her how I felt, and she had me come in immediately. When I came back to tell her that I felt my hair was too brassy and orange, and I wanted her to fix it, she told me that I was mistaken. I just wasn't used to seeing my hair this dark. That may or may not be true, but if I feel that my hair looks orange and brassy, and I am paying you to do my hair, orange it is. I paid $200 for this hair experience. To address the issue she applied the same treatment, same color. And I couldn't help but feel that the girls in the salon were suddenly being rude to me. Either way, Just because a salon resides in Cherry Creek does not mean that its employees are infallible. When a mistake is made, it doesn't really matter what the stylist thinks it looks like, it is the paying customers opinion that matters. another low score for Salon Phoebe. I have disputed my charge for poor service for color performed on 5- 23 -2018. Over processed bangs and crown and color highlights not pulled through back of hair to occipital. Phoebe replied that she could not put foils in my hair as it was too short. It was razored by Paul Garcia without my permission and he was not my stylist. Phoebe was. Paul Garcia did not work at Salon Phoebe at the time I had my service Paul razored off 2 inches off of the back of my hair and it was now too short to have the proper service completed, per Phoebe The credit card company was sent a response from Phoebe that Phoebe would work with me on dispute, and to call her.. I have this in writing. Phoebe also told me to call her after taking full responsibility for Paul and herself in her first Yelp response. I have never been able to get a phone call back from her. ??????? I have tried several times to make contact with her by phone and text. Phoebe has not replied to me, so I guess she lied in her response to the credit card company and myself. I have been to countless hairdressers and have spent an inordinate amount of money in the Denver metro area in hopes of getting the right color; overall, I have never been ecstatic with the results. I went to Phoebe Therese because they offered balayage (a french hair painting technique) that many hairdressers are not experienced enough to use properly. Therese was able to mimic my natural haircolor and then add piecey highlights that looked so natural one could barely notice it was professionally colored. I am in the service industry as well and when people complain about the service we do everything we can to make it better. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. I had an appointment at 1:00, and did not leave the salon until 6:30 pm. That is over FIVE hours. I opted for Balyage highlights because when I googled "Balyage salons in Denver," this one came up. Theresa who claims to be a Balyage expert, only wanted to put the actual color on my hair, and nothing else. Phoebe gave me a consultation and seemed very sweet and knowledgeable. Then Theresa did my highlights which I was initially horrified by (until the assistant Annie toned my hair 3 separate times). It seems as though Annie the assistant is expected to; mix color, wash hair, dry hair, etc. (for 3 different stylists, mind you) while Theresa (the head honcho) chats, carries on, and looks at photos, with friends who enter the salon. I was definitely not her first priority, and was seen, colored, washed and dried by three different people. When I walk into a salon in Cherry Creek, I expect one person, namely my stylist, to consult, cut, and dry my hair. This whole process took a ridiculous amount of time, with no apology, or even mention for that matter that I had been there for 5+ hours. Overall a very bad experience. Was not happy with my color in the end, which was not what I had originally asked for. read more

Unprofessional.....I made my usual appt. to color hair and move up extensions. I made appt. with Pheobe's assistant a couple weeks earlier. I show up and there was zero communication about my appointment. My hair was done completely different this time (I tried to tell Pheobe on 1st foil), I was serviced by 3 different people doing 3 different tasks, they did not have the correct extensions and my hair ended up being colored two shades lighter. All my side hair were a new type of hair (not tapes), and my bill was $1,400.00 The salon had the nerve to keep my old extensions of which I paid $1,110.00 a few months ago. I was so upset but have known owner forever. When I c. alled to complain, I was sent a "No refunds picture" text of a lame sign she put up. To boot, the new $1,400.00 hair was pinkish at ends (a COMMON problem with the "Babe" line of hair) and they will all need to be color corrected. That will cost me $200 to color extensions at next salon. When I called salon, Pheobe told me to send her $450 and she would mail me all my old hair. I told her I was now going to submit to American Express with all info. I received my hair in mail a couple days later That was 7 days ago. All the new style extensions have fallen out on right side and the owner has handled this professionally by blocking correspondence. I have moved my business to Boulder. read more

I did not have a good experience here. I spent over three hours being passed around to three or four different stylists, at least one of which was a trainee. I did not feel valued or taken care of as a client. At least two of the stylists were very good, but it was made clear to me that this is how they do business there so I won't be back. I also did not appreciate being given the hard sell on an expensive treatment. All this combined with the two owners taking frequent smoke breaks in front of the salon made the place felt pretty tacky. I am very disappointed to learn of the type of behavior that the owners at Phoebe Therese Salon recently demonstrated. I am a long time client of Annie, a stylist that was at this salon until very recently. She had made plans to move to a different salon and had notified me recently of this change. Today, however, I received a call from the owners stating that she had been fired, and if I rebooked with them instead of going to find her new location, I would receive a discount. I was aware of her moving salons prior to their malicious attempt at reducing her clientele. The behavior today truly opened my eyes to the lack of respect and professionalism that Phoebe Therese salon supports. To have managers call clients and lie, all to hurt someone that was once a loyal employee is very unbelievable. I am disgusted. read more

I got my hair hilighted here about a week ago and I won't be returning to this salon. This was my second time here and both times I experienced really bad customer service. I thought I would give them a second chance because I like having one salon that I can consistently go to as I am a loyal customer but, it looks like I made a mistake going twice. The bad customer service the first time wasn't just a fluke. Like some of the other reviews on this site, the owners/stylists don't really seem to respect your time and both times I have been there I feel like I get passed along from stylist to stylist. They must overbook or something. I literally had a least four or five different people working on my hair both times I was there. Which actually made the process waaaay too long. I was there for almost 6 hours both occasions for just a hilight and I didn't even get my haircut this last time. They started about 45 minutes late without acknowledgement of this and there was a lot of time in between where I felt like I was sitting there waiting for someone to finish my hair, or shampoo, tone, blowdry etc. I sat around a LOT just waiting, it was pretty frustrating. They act like this is normal. This is not normal!! Do they realize most of us have experienced other salons, and know that things don't always operate like this? Before I moved here I frequented another salon which was a lot nicer and always came out with flawless hair in about 3 hours and about $50 cheaper. Its just bad customer service. Also, its almost uncomfortable being there because I almost feel like Im at the owners house and infringing on her socializing time instead of being a paying customer. I even waited in line for almost 10 minutes for the owner to wrap up her conversation about facebook with the woman in front of me just so I could pay and get the heck out of there (keep in mind this was about 6 hours into my appointment for JUST HIGHLIGHTS!) They boast to be the only Loreal concept salon in Denver and constantly brag about their accreditation and accolades, but to be honest my hair only looked so-so and I have had much better color and cuts from other salons. Also, I should say the reason I didn't get it cut this time is because Phoebe completely CHOPPED my hair off the first time waaay shorter than I wanted and Im still trying to grow it out! I definitely did not ask her to chop it the way she did. It was horrible and embarrassing, it didn't even have any body or shape to it. It was bad. They should probably start focusing more on customer service and humble themselves a bit, they aren't as good as they think they are. Also, it seemed very expensive, almost $200 for just hilights and I think I paid like $280 the first time when I got hilights and a cut. When I get a cut and low-light and spend $200. plus on the service, I want service. (Pretend that you are interested in having me there!!) I've had my share of haircuts (I'm 48 y/o) and Phoebe is hands down THE BEST HAIR STYLIST I'VE EVER HAD! Yes, the service is slow and sometimes Phoebe can get super busy that she can't do more of her styling/blow drying at the end (but she did have a terrible accident and despite that she can cut like nothing ever has happened to her)....but honestly, I'd rather have the best haircut and color and style than have perfect customer service (btw, no one has perfect customer service these days). I now live in LA...just got my hair done in Brentwood and it was very average. So ladies, you just DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF TALENT THIS WOMAN HAS AND NEED TO APPRECIATE HER!
